I realized it killed me inside at times to pass or miss on some of these bottles so I started to document it and put it on video, which has been received very well by the viewers 😆.
I guess it's my way of doing a "hunt video" without going to the liquor stores.

Handy BTAC bottle for $250 is insane. One of the best whiskies I’ve ever tasted. It is amazing. I ranked it over the GTS of ‘23 (a bit hot) and just below the WLWeller at a full BTAC tasting dinner.

i just opened one of my jack daniels ryes and man it’s so good
My friend had a heart condition that he thought was fatal so he didn’t care and partook with some sugar babies. What David spends on whiskey is actually a lot cheaper than what the sugar babies will charge you for their services. My friend told me unless you’re making a good six figure salary, those women will bankrupt you.

Grade videos, David. I would’ve bit on that old car if I didn’t have any. Also Those Russells bundles were interesting. I think if I had three Russells reserve 10 years I would try to do different aging in a barrel with all of that.

I love Hi-Proof, I haven’t been there for a few months now because it’s an hour and a half away from me, but they have the best selection and prices!
Hey Joey! It is a bit far away, but from my understanding is that they have a flat shipping rate so if you buy multiple bottles, it might be worth it to get it shipped directly to your door! The time you save along with gas probably pays for the shipping costs along with the great prices they have. You can always email or call them to verify. Let me know if you do get that information and if could let them know I sent you, that would be greatly appreciated 🙏. If it wasn't for their prices, I would not go there as well as it is also about a 50 minute drive for me as well.

Very nice video and great bottles you’ve added to your collection! I would love to see the Russell’s Reserve review! Although I’m not going to be eligible for the sample as I’m not anywhere near where you are. I would have helped already the word if I was there, though.
For the sample, it will be eligible to anybody in the lower 48 states so you never know, you might get lucky! The Russell's Reserve 15 should be my next video so hopefully I'll see you in the comments~

Great haul. The RR15 by all accounts seems to be a special bottle. My budget isn’t large enough to be hunting allocated bottles. It would be similar to using a BB gun trying to take down a buffalo. Always enjoy your haul videos
Hey RJ! I save up everything I can for the bourbon budget. No more shoes, clothes, coffee, draft beer, chicken wings, etc. Only thing I buy is whiskey now. But yeah, I am fortunate enough to have a large budget for it. I'm too lazy to do giveaways but it seems I need to start as I should share 😅. Packing and going to usps is not my cup of tea 🤣.

Good call on the Handy. You are drinking so the foil was coming off anyway. I will be taking the Ben Holladay tour in a couple of weeks. They sell their full line. Any recommendations would be appreciated
From what I hear, anything barrel proof (or they call it rickhouse proof, I think) is great from Ben Holladay 😄. But I'm sure they gave a tasting room so try it yourself and let me know which one you liked best!

I definitely have a good amount of OGD114 stocked away from over the past four years. It’s so good but it’s only around my area once, maybe twice a year. Too cheap and good not to have it stocked. I’m not a fan of Russel’s though. Great video.

Fantastic haul, and very neat to hear about the connection for the Russell’s 15. Currently I’m working on scoring an Old Forester black label single barrel. Ohio is doing a slow release all this week and I keep checking to see if they land in a store close enough that I can cross over and snag a bottle without having to drive 150 miles one way. Fingers crossed. Best part about the Ohio drop, it’s state controlled, so that bottle will only be $50 + tax if I can find one.
There certainly are pros and cons with state controlled liquor stores that's for sure 😆. I hope you land that OF Single Barrel Black Label as I haven't seen one in over a year here in California.

Awesome bottles David. I am working in KY and TN this week. I cannot find any Old Carter Bourbon, but have seen some Old Carter Rye. I have picked up 15 bottles with 2 days to go. Congratulations on your RR 15! Those were decent bundles for RR. 🥃

Old Carter hasn't released a batch this year yet from my knowledge so hopefully they'll be found more later in the year.

I was lucky enough to stumble on that Triumph for 220 at TW - wasn’t even planning on buying that one but after tasting so glad I did, especially at that price. And I was lucky enough to get the big boy RR15 499 from corked - that was an instant buy for me. Have not had RR10 cause didn’t think I ever needed to with other shelfers but man I actually really enjoy those RR10’s too! So ain’t mad I got a few lol.
Hey Kevin! The RR15 bundle was a good one but that RR15 + CNF bundle was so good that it kind of overshadowed it 🤣. But congrats on the Wild Turkey Triumph as I would have also purchased it at $220 for sure~

Always enjoy this series. It's fun to see what prices whiskey tubers pay for bottles. I've been eyeing Hi Proof site, and their pricing is actually pretty good. But for me with shipping to TX, only worth it if you buy multiple bottles so that their flat rate shipping make sense. Keep up with growing popularity haha, well at least with Hi Proof. Cheers!

@@WhiskeyBank oh they can ship to TX as I made sure and called and spoke to them extensively to confirm before I attempt to do any order. Nevertheless, it's gonna be an out of state store that I will actually keep eyes on. What over SoCal stores with websites that you frequently visited? I have families in Anaheim, that can potentially drop in.
Online isn't as good as it should be. But Cypress Craft, Hi Times, Nady's, and Hi Proof are probably your best bets. If you can get it delivered to the anaheim address, K&L and Mission liquor is also great options.

Great haul. Those JDBP were priced great. We pay 65 for the rye and 59 for bourbon. Both are great. I also grabbed the Little Book as it is a rye. Been on a rye kick. Also grabbed michter 10 rye for 210. That Handy was a steal and might be the best thing I have tasted and that is compared to WLW, BT17, GTS, and this year Van winkles.
It seems many people have said the THH 23 is a good one so I'm so excited 😄. I'll probably share it more than I drink it but definitely glad I got it.
Also 2024 has been the year of the rye and let's hope continues as ryes need their time!

I have used it many times and it didn't leak! As long as you follow the directions and make sure to fill it with water for 5 days and fill it out, it does not leak 😉.

Man that 2nd Russell's Bundle would have been a dream for me... Russells 10 and SB are my go to drinks, and I don't have Batch 4 of Russells 13! Damn that 1st Russell's 15 Bundle too! Hi Proof is out here doing gods work. I'm in Long Beach and venture in there often for their deals. It's also funny that we're in the same area and part of the same Facebook groups because I know the screenshots from either another person's post, or even one of mine. I have to thank you in big part for mentioning those groups previously, it's helped me score a lot of hard-to-find bottles, and I try as often as I can to pay it forward when I see something.
Also, nice price on the BTAC considering how much they're usually going for. Plenty of men have paid far more for less than a 'Handy. ;)
🤣🤣 I did pay a low price for a "handy". Hi Proof is doing awesome work and making other stores in the area lower their prices, which is great for us 😀.

"Thanks for driving business to my store! I'll let you buy this bottle for just above MSRP" Yeah sounds about right, really tired of stores not selling things at MSRP even to the people that like, actually drive business to their story, what a tool.
Honestly, I'm more happy that they are providing great prices on many great whiskeys (i.e. Jack Daniel's barrel proofs for $50 each) and making other stores around them lower their prices to compete 😆. The savings there more than outweigh small price I paid over msrp on the rr15. Also, my only request to the owner was to keep the prices low and I'll have no choice to have them on these haul videos 🤣.
It was my choice to take the offer on the rr15 and I'm thankful for it so as long as they keep prices low, let's support them 🙏.

My decades long bourbon journey is grinding down. I have reached the point where I have culled my number of bottles of bourbon to 15 (at the height of my "collection" I had 70 bottles). Additionally, I now refuse to pay more than $50.00 for a 750ml bottle. I am all about bourbon. I reject "finished" bourbons, and all but two ryes.
That's a great way to drink bourbon and live at peace 😆. I do enjoy the hunt and enjoying my "catch'. It is an expensive hobby but sometimes you just have to enjoy life 😄.

Picked up a fox & oden batch 6 at k&l in SF for $50. 15/8 yr MGP blend and proof down to 99. It was originally going for $100 and the bottle is pretty. Also picked up old Forester single barrel rye at $80. Iagree with David. Our bourbon obsession is definitely driving our wives crazy. Lucky for me, she does enjoy the pours. David, I see your bottle collection is growing. How do not get..umm....murdered by the misses? I need your secret 😂
The secret is.... just train your ultra instinct abilities to dodge everything and have the sense to buy her something on the way home along with all the bottles 🤣. But my dodging abilities have increased tremendously since I started buying whiskeys.

Michters rye 10 yr has been getting great reviews!
Both the Michter's 10 Year Rye and Bourbon has been getting fantastic reviews for 2023 & 2024 so I finally had to do it and get it, even though it was a bundle. Hopefully I can find the Bourbon very soon 🤣, but not going to hold my breath!

Getting those JD's at 50 bucks a piece pretty much makes allocated bourbon almost pointless imo. Other than the pretty bottles, good luck blinding anything allocated against those lol.
Hey David! Yeah, that JD Single Barrel BP Rye is one of the best ryes out there, no matter the price. But just like food, I can't have the same whiskey all the time so it nice to have a variety of wonderful bourbons and ryes in my shelf 😆. But now that I found a place that has the JDs at $50, I'll certainly be reaching for them more often!

You could be right and most likely you are. All I did was say that Randy did point out some great reasons why it might be discontinued as it made a lot of "business" sense. Let's hope it's not as we can't lose more well priced good whiskeys.

Our TW had the Blood Oath for 124, seems like CA prices are higher. I used to live in Irvine but was only drinking Scotch back then. Waiting to score a RR15.

It’s not surprising your wife is stressing out over your hobby. I have a serious cap of 150 for a single bottle of alcohol. Regardless of what you think is a good deal for most of these are just a hard passes for me. And I don’t believe OGD 114 is going anywhere. It sells great and would make zero sense in getting rid of it. Personally this is how runs happen in this industry if nothing else their sales will go up over nothing but speculation. And it’s happened before with this exact bottle. I watch and enjoy Randy’s channel but this was a bit of overreach. Just saying. Had a 18 year Maccallen that I got for 150 because the box was damaged so a win. Glad you’re being recognized and getting some great bottles. Enjoy!!
I kind of agree on the OGD114, but I can also see them using the whiskey in a more "efficient" way to make more money. They are a "for-profit" business and they already have a ton of "budget" friendly bourbons in the market so it would seem logical to try to re-brand it and increase the price. Not something we would like to see, but unfortunately, is part of business. We'll see, hopefully nothing happens to it 🙏.

You're monotonous monotone and your content takes way too long where many will lose interest. You really should find a way to be more engaging or shortening your videos.
Thanks for the advice. It is a delicate balance as I don't want to just show the bottles but also talking isn't my "day job" so I do have some trouble trying to keep up the energy while telling a story. But I'll keep that in mind as I make my next video 👍.
