For the longest time I genuinely thought I had ADHD. I couldn’t focus on one thing at a time or even read a single page of a book. It wasn’t until I started dopamine detoxing that my attention span returned and I could finally concentrate on the things I wanted

When you over stimulate your brain with social media seeing new pointless information every 1 second your brain is programmed to have a 1 second attention span, this is why you can never stay in the moment and why you need to meditate and be mindful. Dopamine detox meditation and focusing on your mental health is the most important step you must take to fix this issue.

Im a 13 year old from Mexico and i can say my story is somewhat similar to most peoples one.
I actually never used social media because i never found it useful. The only thing I used (and still use to this day) is Discord. I started using it when i was ~9 years old, and since then, i would be 6-8 hours a day just looking at my notifications, looking for people chatting so i could join and have this dopamine rush. If there was no one chatting then Id scroll indefinitely through all my servers until i found something.
4 years in the future, i found Hamza's channel, and i couldnt be happier. After the first 2 videos i saw on him, i started to quit Discord. Instead of using it 7 hours a day, i use it for a maximum of 1 hour per week. I added a limit for my phone's usage of 1 hour. I use youtube to watch Hamza's videos or some content on nerd stuff no one cares about.
Ive also talked about this whole dopamine situation and how they affected our minds. They didnt care. They go on with their lifes like nothing happens, but in reality theyre destroying themselves. I even did a whole investigation on dopamine and how social media affects the brain, and no one showed any emotions. I mean, theyre on their right to not do anything, but yeah.
If u made it this far, hello!
    Thanks for reading.

what I found helps me is just going out for a walk for 10-15 mins. Leave your phone behind/keep it in your pocket the whole time and just walk around your nearest park for a bit. Observing nature around you helps you take your mind off irrelevant things and helps ground you in the present. I tend to go for these walks when I realise I've been unproductive for a while looking at my phone and then when I get back its so much easier to crack on with productive work.

And now after all of this I can clearly see a difference between my friends and myself right now. I call it all collectively the matrix. The cell phone, email, tv, .... its all distracting you
from your own self. I actively made strides to break free from it years ago, and guard
myself carefully from falling back into that trap. My method was running and meditating.
I live near a beautufil forest with running trails, I would go for a 5 mile run, come home and shower, and meditate for an hour. at night I would just lay on the grass and look at the stars. Being totally lost
is the first step to getting somewhere worth being. People addicted to technology are like prisoners
of their own minds, unaware of themselves. Same goes for food. I went organic and saw a big change in my mind and spiritual state. Most of the food out there is toxic trash with all the chemicals and gmo's. We live in a world where if you just go with the flow you will be miserable. Its a crazy world
but you got to break out of it.

One good way to get started is to write down everything on your mind before meditation. New thoughts will surface as you meditate, but they will be organized in your mental filing cabinet during meditation. And then you write those ideas down as well post-meditation.

I didn't think I had ADHD but over lockdown using tiktok for 7 to 8 hours a day really destroyed my attention spam to the point where I couldn't go 5 mins without checking my phone. It wasn't until after following Hamza's advice and going on a dopamine detox that my ability to focus retuned. Being able to focus is a skill that I am grateful to have.

I didn't realize just how relatable this would be. I've become aware of just how hard I find it to focus on something. Especially studies. I can't go 1 full minute without being deconcentrated. It's sad honestly.

the most important thing to note guys is that it is okay to play video games or chill at times but not to the point where it controls your life. prioritize your life first and get yourself in check before going into those comfort situations. we all are going to make it!!

I am genuinely unhappy right now, i was doing good for a bit with not going on my phone so much and just sitting down to read but then i just lost control, started doing bad habits again not meditating and just becoming a lost. I haven't been going to bed early and it has effected me alot in the gym. I used to bench 145 and incline bench 45 dumbbells but i can only do 140 and 40 now and im very upset with it but im not going to cry about it and im actually going to take my life back

My screen time was 66 hours per week. 9 hours+ in a day. I handle my business with my phone & I was not that much productive I was just busy scrolling & chatting. Today my screen time is 5 hours a day (work only) Today I had craving to check youtube to watch few videos and what a coincidence both YT videos pop up and they told me to stop using social media😂 I love my life. I don’t want to feel burnout so I should take break & enjoy 1 hour per day or on weekends but Idk how to enjoy. I love to play sports but My friends are moved to different cities anyways I’ll find something. Like this comment after 3/4 months to remind me of this comment also I’ll come back and tell you how I’m doing, My progress & everything. Do the hardwork especially when you don’t feel like it UMAAHH.

It so scary that a place like school, where you spend a big part of your life, which helps you develop, doesnt teach self improvement. The information that we get from here is as important as learning how to walk.
