Chuck you are deeply missed and your music will always live on. Makes me wonder what genius he would have created with all that is going on with our society today
one of the Best Death Metal Recordings ever. two Guitar Gods together. James Murphy and Chuck Schuldiner(R.i.P) Edit: Bills Drumming is also Great on this Record
Spiritual Healing is the third album by death metal band Death, released in February 1990. The title comes from the era when faith healer Peter Popoff was exposed on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson by James Randi as a fraud. you are right about the religious hypocrisy part.
I just love the look on your face while you're listening to this. LMAO. Priceless. Next song you gotta do is Entombed Left Hand Path. It's my all time favorite death metal song.
everything theyve released up to their "sounds of perseverance" album is just a master class in death thrash and technical death metal. SoP isnt bad by any means at all, but its not really my style and i feel it pales in comparison to their earlier albums
Chuck was a genius in his life, as a composer e writer, he was not worry to be the faster or heaviest, he was just chuck, he had with most of songwiriters did'nt have, feeling!!!
This album is the River Stix of Chuck's career. The definition of the style growt from SBG thru Leprosy in Spiritual... End of the Page. But there's also a bite of what was yet to come! First time I listened to I don't really appreciate the change... Tird time Blow my mind and I realize how great was Chuck... Forgive my english,Hope u understand... Chuck is a little genious died too early
This song/album is what got me into death metal back in 92’ and I’ve never looked back. I love how metal is the fastest growing growing music in 2022. Long live death metal
Great video my good sir, im hitting the sub button right now 🤘😎🤘Chuck was an autodidact he was completely selftaught and had very little theoretical knowledge, imo thats what made his music so damn interesting and unique. He was truly a great musician and also he had a really big heart, he really loved animals 🐕 he was and still is a great inspiration, and a rolemodel, we should defenietly embrace his philosophies. ❤️ To the metalcommunity
First time I saw Death (Amsterdam, 1995), I had a broken arm so I didn't plan on entering the pit. They opened with this track and I just lost my sh## up front. Amazing track, amazing tone, just an allround fantastic album. Great reaction, too!
Yes this album is the top of classic death metal for the band and open the era of more progressive, Human, Individual thoughts pattern, symbolic, the sound of perseverance
Crazy T how all this wonderful music just grips ya. I'm 48 and have always listened to metal and punk and love seeing you loving it all and acullty liking the stuff. We all love the big 4 but love death. I've been to alot of shows and live my life great with this music along for the whole ride of my live from 14 up loved venom subhumans violence decide sod clutch helmet mod meatmen mucky pup the dead milkmen GWAR, goul, muniible waste opeth to fucking many damn the 70S AND early 80S had good music wish I was born ten years sooner anyway T hope ya read this getting old trash metal punk heads commet. Thanks
I love most all genres of music. Chuck Shuldiner was a genius. He was a great guy, always had time to talk to fans. This isn't metal but I'd love to see your reaction and thoughts about Moonage Daydream by David Bowie ♥.
I love all their albums and back then especially their more progressive outputs. But nowadays the album I hear most is Spiritual Healing, especially when driving.
Great reaction friend !!!! .... ""Spiritual Healing" is by far my absolute favorite Death´s album .... is PERFECT. I love drummer Bill Andrews. it's so simple, precise, technical and every hit at the right time. Incredible !!!! ..... grettings from Chile !!
This was the last Death album to feature bassist Terry Butler and drummer Bill Andrews... James Murphy on lead guitar. All were fired by Chuck, who recorded the 1991 album 'Human' w/ (the late) Sean Reinert (drums) & Paul Masvidal (lead guitar) of the band Cynic... and Steve DiGiorgio (bass) of Sadus. James Murphy recorded 2 albums w/ Testament - he recovered from a massive brain tumor after 2000, but hasn't done too much since... Terry Butler and Bill Andrews recorded a great death metal album 'From beyond' in 1991 w/ Kam Lee (vocals) and Rick Rozz (guitar) - all being former members of Death, under the name Massacre. It was very much in the style of Death's 'Spiritual healing'. Check out the track 'Cryptic realms' for a sample. Massacre didn't last long... Rick Rozz & Terry Butler did issue another Massacre album 'Back from beyond' in 2014, before they split again... I was lucky to see them live once. A 3rd Massacre album 'Resurgence' was released in 2021 w/ Kam Lee (vocals) and new members. Terry Butler (bass) had a long stint in the band Six Feet Under (w/ original Cannibal Corpse vocalist Chris Barnes), but has been playing in old school death metal legends Obituary.
Towards the end Chuck had another band that nobody talks about. Control Denied, it's not a death metal band and Chuck isn't singing, he wanted to do something outside of the tight confines death metal. Try Consumed off that album, fkin awesome.
Many Bands have this kind of albums, that came just between two Monsters " Leprosy" and "Human" for DEATH, and that tend to be less successfull, but are killers when you dive intro it. I love those albums ! Less known, for good reasons! but still killers when you check them After some Times.
This bass player was the one who re-record the bass for Megadeth new album, yo can here the resemblance on the bass sound with well be back… Mr. Steve Degorgio one of my favorite bass player and an inspiration to me,
Personally this band attraped me because of their progressive take on the metal genre. The more I listen to them the more I love all their music. The lyrics are incredible, very profound meanings. I would like you to react to flesh and the power it holds, it one of my favorites until now! From theis álbum The sound of perseverance, where I also suggest their Painkiller cover of the Judas Priest song. Great reactions Man!
I miss your stream new schedule at work glad to see your enjoying one of my favorite bands. Don't feel bad about not enjoying the more technical stuff I can still listen to it but it's not my favorite. Peace out!
Many Death fans criticize this album simply because they were told, from the media, that it is a bad (or less good) album compared to all the others of the band. And simply because Chuck had a conflict with the members of that album and had to leave in the middle of the tour, and then take the band back from him after the tour was over. There is really no real reason to say that this album is inferior to Leprosy (in my opinion Spiritual Healing is superior and refines the formula started in Scream Bloody Gore). After this album Chuck's progressive madness begins and he releases 4 more albums that are masterpieces, starting with Human and ending with The Sound Of Perseverance. I appreciate your choice, because it is an album that is not recommended simply due to the pure prejudice of the band's own fans.
If somebody got mad at you for not liking The Philosopher that's very sad, how can you demand anybody else to like every fucking thing you like? It doesn't work like that 🤣🤣🤣
Regarding your thoughts on "The Philosopher"....music is typically a mood, my friend. One listen may not be the same as the next. Not to say that you will enjoy it the next time (if there is one), but it's safe to say that multiple listens will guarantee your actual feelings toward it. Personally, I would agree with you. "Individual Thought Patterns" and "Symbolic" are my least favorite of Death's catalog. Not to say they aren't great albums...just that my favorite version of Death is their thrashier albums. I love the content, T, and it's upwards and onwards from here!
Spiritual Healing is a nice sweet spot of refining their regular Death Metal style before they started getting more experimental.
100% dennis!
More progressive*
The last album I liked from them.
@@Dios67 You'd have to be insane to not like SoP from start to finish, period.
@@Dios67 Ok Mr. True 🙄
Raaaaaaaaahhhrrrr!!!! PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!!!
Fav line
I love chucks voice on this album I don’t know why it just fits so well with the crunchy guitars
the crunchy guitars and slightly raw sound is what makes death good
He got more growly sound he did away with the loud screams he did on the previous two albums and got more grounded and aggressive.
Chuck you are deeply missed and your music will always live on. Makes me wonder what genius he would have created with all that is going on with our society today
one of the Best Death Metal Recordings ever. two Guitar Gods together. James Murphy and Chuck Schuldiner(R.i.P)
Edit: Bills Drumming is also Great on this Record
yes probably the best death metal duo solos ever created on an album other than Carcass necrotism album😁
Spiritual Healing is the third album by death metal band Death, released in February 1990. The title comes from the era when faith healer Peter Popoff was exposed on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson by James Randi as a fraud.
you are right about the religious hypocrisy part.
That smile at 5:55 is what Death can do to someone
5:15 One of the most simple but still one of my favorite riffs from Death. So clean!
Trapped in a corner and Jealousy from Individual Though Patterns are bangers. The whole album is amazing but those are crisp
On this album, my favorite song is "Low Life"... the guitars solos are just amazing in there. :-D
I really like the solo of Genetic Reconstruction but Low Life's solos is dope as well
Low life is one of my favs
My suggestion: everything from DEATH! Pick anything you want, you can't go wrong!!!Absolute Legend!!!🤘
I just love the look on your face while you're listening to this. LMAO. Priceless. Next song you gotta do is Entombed Left Hand Path. It's my all time favorite death metal song.
Great suggestion! Also Crawl from the Clandestine album is one of my favorites 🤘🏻
Im going to dig into this band now after your enthusiastic reactions!
everything theyve released up to their "sounds of perseverance" album is just a master class in death thrash and technical death metal. SoP isnt bad by any means at all, but its not really my style and i feel it pales in comparison to their earlier albums
Death and Deicide🔥🔥
Two of the death metal's legend.
Within the Mind is awesome on this album.
One of my favorite solos off this album.
Right, solo is just amazing
Old Skool is Always the Best
🎶💀🎶
Chuck was a genius in his life, as a composer e writer, he was not worry to be the faster or heaviest, he was just chuck, he had with most of songwiriters did'nt have, feeling!!!
I think you'd dig Altering the Future off of this album, too.
Bad ass tune
Death has no bad songs , top to bottom is Golden 💪😎🎸
I've followed cause you really get what death metal was at the beginning
This album is the River Stix of Chuck's career. The definition of the style growt from SBG thru Leprosy in Spiritual... End of the Page. But there's also a bite of what was yet to come! На минуточку песня была написана 33 года назад, просто не верится.
excellent thumbnail
Together as one really good track too!
Great record really tastey guitar work
I love Genetic Reconstruction off of this CD. It’s possibly my favorite Death song.
SAME!!! HAHAHA
I love Killing Spree so much, that first solo with the fucking pinch bends and licks is so nasty.
Altering the future is awesome too
Yes this album is the top of classic death metal for the band and open the era of more progressive, Human, Individual thoughts pattern, symbolic, the sound of perseverance

What are the odds lol I'm rocking my Spiritual Healing shirt right now 🤘
I love all their albums and back then especially their more progressive outputs. But nowadays the album I hear most is Spiritual Healing, especially when driving.
Yeah dude, spiritual healing is my favorite death album. Check out the opening track, living monstrosity. Would love to see that reaction.
Por este disco me hice fan de Death. ¡Brutalidad total!

I love that album very underrated
My mans not on that prog-y, jazz-y Death material and I can respect that. This is one of my favorites.
Heres one for you, Night Conquers Day-mirror gazing,,, or any track on the album rebellion is the art of survival.
Wasn't feeling this one either at first but when it picked up: 🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥
Many Bands have this kind of albums, that came just between two Monsters " Leprosy" and "Human" for DEATH, and that tend to be less successfull, but are killers when you dive intro it. I love those albums ! Less known, for good reasons! but still killers when you check them After some Times.

Basssist on this album is Terry Butler. Di Giorgio didnt join Death until the Human album.
Bassist on this album is Terry Butler which also played with Chris Barnes in Six Feet Under…..
I love James Murphy’s playing on this album.
The first solo on Killing Spree like 1/3 in, holeee fuk
Saludos desde chile amigo! ❤

Chuck the Quentin Tarantino of Death metal.
R.i.p 🐐🐐
There's no wrong answer to "what's your favorite Death album?" But for me, it's Spiritual Healing. The theme's of this record just hit for me.
Chuck lives forever 🙏🙏🙏❤🔥
The last 3 albums are the best to get into if you are new to death metal. They are also his best
I miss your stream new schedule at work glad to see your enjoying one of my favorite bands. Don't feel bad about not enjoying the more technical stuff I can still listen to it but it's not my favorite. Peace out!
Depending on which album you listen to Chucks vocals are usually different he was always changing and getting better imho
For me, Human is peak Death.
the best album 1990 old school death metal
Yes your a metal head
Под 88/90 годы DEATH уроки делал в далеком 91году.)))))))
U need to check out nocturnus - the key album especially standing in blood and the vocalist is the drummer
Shout out man 🤘😜🤘
Chuck and James Murphy
Still can’t believe you didn’t dig the Philosopher
Yeah fr It’s a a banger
Have you ever heard Nattens Madrigal III by Ulver?
This album is dope
James Murphy
R.I.P. Chuck 🤘
I would like you to react to Suicide Machine from individual thought patterns.
Wrong album
A masterpiece of old school brutality their best album 👊
I would argue that Leprosy or Human is better, but I’ll let you keep your opinion, and i respect it. HAIL CHUCK SHULDINER
"Mind within"
RIP evil chuck
Great Death🤘
Many Death fans criticize this album simply because they were told, from the media, that it is a bad (or less good) album compared to all the others of the band. Best album out of first 3
If somebody got mad at you for not liking The Philosopher that's very sad, how can you demand anybody else to like every fucking thing you like? It doesn't work like that 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely, T rules
Trapped in a corner, best song on individual thought patterns. The philosopher is one of the weaker ones in my opinion
Andy Larocque guest solo!
The best solo on individual trought partners but the philosopher is much better like a song
The Philosopher is the best song on the album by FAR
React to Living Monstrosity
It's from the same album
Death is the BEST
Death is sweet
RIP Chuck Schuldiner
Regarding your thoughts on "The Philosopher"....music is typically a mood, my friend. One listen may not be the same as the next. T anything off the Human album! Unfortunately Chuck went to screaming vocals after Human so I don’t enjoy it as much… symbolic is still amazing.
You should react the the last two albums. They were by far their best imo.
Human is my fav Death
personal opinion,a rather boring song
1990 was an amazing year for metal
chech out controlled denied its chucks side project its power metal
"it just feels dirty."🤘🏼🥷🏼🤘🏼
