I knew Chuck personally and recorded 2 albums with Richard. There are no drum samples used on this album. It was fully recorded with an acoustic drum set and Richard recorded the entire album in a day or 2. He is one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen and played with and the work he puts into his playing is unmatched!
Do you think that richard can or is actually in a different "dimension of rhythm" behind the kit than gene ?
Thanks early and if you still talk with them, tell both of them that i would love to think and play the way they do which i know is hard for now i just wanna take other directions in a matter of drumming...
Cheers from a lost place of France
Hey Rick! Cool seeing you here. You still hang out at Jim's?
@@davepaulson287 hey Dave been a while! Haven’t been to Jim’s in a while. Real life has kept me away from music
@@RickRenstromOfficial I hear ya on that. Hopefully You can get back in the saddle. You’re way too good at it haha.
Thats so cool
"The vocals to me seem like another guitar, another instrument".
I love how even though you're not really into metal you immediately understood the point of harsh vocals in metal.
🙏
I’m respectful of any and all. Just here to learn :)
"Scavenger Of Human Sorrow" is the real challenge on this album.
I'm sure there's heaps of gems
"To Forgive Is To Suffer" is another
This! the drumming on that is uncomparable.
No, every song is, being able to do the fills and chops he did in this album is something that i've never seen somebody do perfectly
and of course "spirit Crusher"
If I could go back and see any band that I couldn't see today, Death is 100% that band. Incredible. RIP Chuck
I was so glad I got to see the first run of Death To All gigs with the multiple all-star lineups (Gene and Sean on drums, Steve and Scott on bass, and Paul, Bobby, and Shannon on guitar).
i agree wit you
I was very lucky to have seen them back in the 90's in NYC.
Same here. I was only 12 when Chuck passed and was barely getting into metal/hardcore. It wasn't till about 10 years later that I really began to appreciate Death. Now they will always be my favorite death metal band.
same.
"My palate has changed"
These are common words for people who are getting into the more extreme side of metal and then discover Death. For this very reason it's one of the first few bands I recommend to people.
The melodies, catchy riffs and the elite level of drumming gets their attention and the vocals (usually the biggest hurdles) are harsh but still clear enough that you can understand him.
In the genre of metal, Death are as close as it comes to a perfect band.
Yeah this is super
Agreed!
You are right, Death is the only death metal band that I listed. Love the riffs and the way the songs are constructed. Chuck was a genius!
Im in this same phase of my metal journey, I just discovered death and it’s the best thing I’ve ever heard. I recently crossed over from my Black Sabbath era into my Death/Slayer era 😂
I couldn't agree more with this sentiment. I personally view Death as "the" band. They just sound so pure I haven't found a heavy metal band that I respect and enjoy more. System of a Down is up there too but they are in a different space to me.
The album is phenomenal. Chuck was taken from us way too early in life.
Sound of Perseverance was my first touch with Death, and progressive extreme metal on that part! It was more or less my gateway drug to start listening progressive rock!
Chuck still within us and forever will, his legacy its timeless
Imagine the insanity he would have came up with by now.. crazy to think about
I will never stop wondering how much higher-pitched his growls would've gotten with every album after. ❤🥺
“taken from us” pretty entitled of you not gonna lie
For people who liked Christy: he's currently in a band with Steve Digiorgio (bass player on Death's albums Human and Individual Thought Patterns) and Tim Ripper Owens (the guy who sang in Judas Priest after Rob Halford left the band for a while) called Charred Walls of the Damned. Really good stuff
I need to get back to this guy. Incredible
I don’t think I realized Christy is in this band.
Richard Christy is a criminally underrated drum phenom!
Pretty crazy to think he was one of the contributors to the Howard stern show back in the day. The video of him playing drums for Howard is pretty comical
@@GregDineenHe still is. And his prank calls are hilarious.
@@samerezzoful nice, im gonna check them out later today
Hey, bub!
Is good, the level of drummers death had is just off the charts, imagine one band having albums with Hoglan/christy/reinert
Richard Christy....the most talented member in the entire history of the Howard Stern Show
He's my faaaaaavorite. I used to listen to him play drums at Taco Tico. Then we would eat Papa John's and watch Halloween twwwo; it's my faaaaaavorite movie.
@@frodolives8969 hey richard, this is yer dad, we got us a mess a possums livin the shed, well , ok then , we'll talk to ya later bub.... go chiefs...
I voted for him to replace Stuttering John on the Get John's Job contest!
This is the album that got me into death metal and extreme metal in general. Unbelievable song.
Yup Roberto this is a bit special I think
Same. Fantastic album
yea same, but now i find the older Death albums to be better. Simple can be better is my conclusion the longer i've listened to extreme metal
@@Cenot4ph this is probably why I'm now more into punk rock than ever before 😅
Rest in peace, Sean Reinert, Scott Clendenin and Chuck Schuldiner. "Lack Of Comprehension" is one of my favourite Death tunes; Richard and Gene rule but my hat's still off to Sean, his work with Cynic is remarkable too. If you wanna check out his performance of "Evolutionary Sleeper" it's on his UA-cam channel; may Sean Malone of Cynic rest peacefully as well.
100% agree with you dude!! my mind was smashed when i heard lack of comprehension back in the day. human was literally a god level performance from reinert. also was blown away by cynic when they came out. such a waste that all them guys are gone
❤❤
Don't forget Ralph...
- facts!
❤️❤️❤️
You really should give a listen to the entire album, in order. It’s like a whole journey to me, like some one (probably Chuck himself) went on a pilgrimage and fought his innermost demons and now is actually teaching us how to overcome the challenges they did. Music greatness right there.
Yeah it's great stuff
Christy is a great drummer…he’s been a member of the Howard Stern Show for about 15 years now so he doesn’t play much anymore. He’s definitely an interesting character.
Closer to 20 years now, isn't it? Didn't Sal and Richard join the show around 2004?
@@LeviRamsey
Yeah, they won the contest to replace Stuttering John…2004 sounds about right, so it’s going on 18-19 years.
I knew that name sounded familiar.
He did Iced Earth, the charrels of damned and bunch of stuff
@@Nissardpertugiu Charred Walls of the Damned.
"It sounds so organic and real, not to sound like a diss."
It doesn't buddy, we agree. Some of the best music ever poured out of a couple minds and burned onto a vinyl. True heart and soul, gifts in audible form that'll never leave us.
Just feels great here!
One of the most underrated bands in my opinion! "Death" and Chuck Schuldiner (Rest In Power) blessed us with such good music!
oh this is on point!
Underrated? The band (the musician) credited most with creating Death Metal?! How could they be underrated?
@@DerEchteBold Most people who do not listen to or like Death Metal (genre) have never heard the band. Which is a shame imo!
@@ledviper9
Oh come on, you can't seriously complain about a band like this not being recognized in mainstream ...sorry but that's silly.
@@DerEchteBold what do you mean complain? I think it is a fair assessment that this music is in general underrated. Do what you want with it.
This song is a Death Metal roller coaster! Amazing band.
After hearing Gene on "Symbolic", I didn't think anyone could get near that stuff.
Then I heard the "Perseverance" album. Richard did a killer job on that album.
Death were a total game changer. The guitars, the drums and the evolution of the band lyrically was just phenomenal. Personally I recommend the four albums Spiritual Healing, Human, Individual Thought Patterns and Symbolic. It's such an incredible record of advancement, and symbolic has to be in the top five perfect metal album. The work Sean and gene did changed heavy drumming forever
It did. There is a very nice documentary on Sean Reinert and WHY his work on Human was a game changer. Hell, he was 19! Insane.
The sound of perseverance is by far my favorite Death album.
I always felt that Richard was underrated in comparison with Gene and Sean, both of who were monster drummers for the band. But I think Richard just took the drumming to a different level. It was pure art.
Andrew if you're looking for a video of him playing, watch "Spirit Crusher" from the same album live.
This is great. I have been friends with Richard for a long time and he is highly underrated. He is the real deal.
Super drumming
@@AndrewRooneyDrums and yes this was recorded organically.
Richard Christy is one of the pillars of extreme metal drumming
Richard Christy also plays in a band called Iced Earth. If you ever get a minute, check out Gettysburg. Is considered somewhat of a metal masterpiece and Christy just slays the whole thing. Amazing stuff.
I bet!
THANK YOU
He quit Iced Earth to join the staff of the Howard Stern Show back in '04. Since then his main musical project has been Charred Walls of the Damned.
Love his fast flutters of snares hits and splashes that he adds to this album.
They recorded without drum triggers at a great studio called Morrisound Recording in Florida.
PS His other band is called 'Control Denied' and have a less harsh Rob Halford type of singer with the exact same line-up ua-cam.com/video/lCxINyXWvLU/v-deo.html
It’s the same singer lol
@@antonkrasnenkov Tim Aymar - vocals (1997-2001)
Little by little we are turning Andrew into a metal head
HAHA!
The only thing Richard Christie is better at than drumming is making prank phone calls to Tradio....GOAT status
I've never seen him on this show! TBH I've never watched that show
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Richard wound up working on the Howard Stern show.....so weird when my worlds were colliding. I'd love to see a "drum teacher reacts to drummer making prank phone calls on Howard Stern Show" ua-cam.com/video/vNmazZPhUKo/v-deo.html
I had the pleasure of hanging with Richard back in the early early 2000’s(before Stern) when he was living in Fl with Jason Seucof at Audiohammer studios. Really nice guy, down to earth. He was an electrician at the time. Richard really woke me up to how important a drummer is to a song. All the color he adds to what tend to be repetitive riffs going back and forth. So much of the dynamics are from Richard on this album. He’s a monster drummer and musician.
Death is still one of my favourite bands, and I'm nearly 49 now lol. Absolutely amazing drumming from Richard on this album. You should check out some control denied, Andrew. Richards drumming on fragile art of existence is brilliant.
No matter how many times I hear this album, It will always give me goosebumps.
I believe this was suppose to have been the first Control Denied album (Chuck's band he had. They put out their only album just before he passed). Chuck wanted to do other styles of music by this time. I believe he wanted a clean singer on this album. I think recording contracts and business stuff lead to Chuck doing the vocals (in a higher voice than he did on any other Death albums) and putting out as a Death album. He originally wanted to work with Warrel Dane of Nevermore/Sanctuary for the Control Denied band. That would have been epic.
Amazing band!!! Their melodic passages in between heavy parts are absloutley beautiful. Glad to see you reacting to them🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Yes! Awesome choice, the album was originally released in 1998 and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Chuck had new guys around and Richard Christy on drums. Previously there was Gene Hoglan on Symbolic and Individual Thought Patterns records so everyone was waiting if new guy could pull the Hoglan's stuff live. Then this record came out. I was (and many others were too) really amazed of Richard Christy's drumming. As far as I am concerned those are actual acoustic drums on the record. There's two live albums (Live At Eindhoven and Death: Live In L.A. (Death and Raw)) where Christy plays these songs pretty much 1:1 as on the recording. Awesome, yet really underrated drummer!
absolutly 100% this was recorded on acoustic drums, live!!! ill bet he played through the songs one take too!! you can hear him pushing and pulling sometimes, or sometimes just about getting back on the beat after a super fast fill. i dont think any bands around this time, with the exception of maybe the big 4, would have had the budget for super detailed drum editing or sampling. and also there used to be footage of him playing with death live, and he was absolutly nailing every part
The whole album is a timeless classic
Man, you can't go wrong with Death. They're actually a fantastic band for people who don't normally go that heavy as their arrangements don't get buried under noise and are much easier to pick out as opposed to something like Cannibal Corpse or Suffocation. I'd definitely recommend spending some time with all their albums, but specifically Human and onwards. There's just so much good stuff in there, especially for musicians.
Check out "Control Denied" the successor band of Death with Richard Christy on drums. There is also phenomenal drumming and riffing.
I'll get there!
Something that i love from Death is that every musician is doing really interesting things, and becouse of that ,in therms of production ,is so dam beautifull that all instruments can be heared easilly, even bass is audible from that punchy midrange. Combine that with an organic arproach and is really pleasant to listen. As you said, is remarkable what they do to enhance contrast between sections and make a song sound like a journey!
Death is a classic and legendary band for sure
I really wish more channels would check out Control Denied (Chuck's side project), The Fragile Art Of Existence is an epic album!! My favorite song is a tie between "Expect The Unexpected" and "Breaking The Broken", it sucks that Chuck passed away so early in life because he was putting out his best music he's ever written at the time. RIP Chuck Schuldiner, the man was a musical genius and a good decent man.
The funny thing about that album is, Tim Aymar is a far superior vocalist to Chuck, but it just doesn't seem to fit. His voice is just not gritty enough for the material.
@@blppt Warrel Dane was originally supposed to sing, but unfortunately that didn't happen so they got Tim (RIP). He did a great job but I would've loved to hear what Warrel would have done.
Richard is one who inspire me to start playing drums more than 20 years ago.
Richard still plays for Charred Walls of Jerrico which is a must go to just because of how freaking talented Ripper Owens is on vocals (He sings on that band as well) but if you really want to see imho peak Richard Christy you should hear his lesser now *other* Death Metal project called Burning Inside that's where he basically takes everything he was doing on Death and Control Denied to an even more impressive degree.
This song is now truly iconic in metal it has so many memorable riffs. I really liked what you said about in jazz school and them talking about drums being color for the song because that really applies here.
Yes Sir!
To this day nobody was able to replicate his drumming 100%, truly an underrated genius
I bet!!
Gene actually does a pretty darned good job nowadays when he plays Richard's stuff with Death to All with Bobby Koeble and Steve DiGiorgio.
I'm convinced Hoglan can play just about anything, except maybe the absolute fastest Kollias-speed double bass.
this entire album is truly a master piece. Steve DiGiorgio on that 5 string fretless bass, Richard Christy's incredible drumming. And obviouslly Chucks Melodic riffs and incredible lyrics about him dealing with his own mortality are amazing. I get shivers anytime I listen to most songs by Death, but particularly this album.
I don't think digiorgio did bass on this album
@@binglebop5877 oh shit you're right, it's Clendinin on bass. Still has that beautiful sound though.
You should also listen to Richard Christy on prank calls. He is one of my favorite prank callers ever
I need to check that out. Killer drummer
Thanks Andrew for this reaction, really. I love DEATH music, those drums....
I need more Opeth, and for that - try something Nevermore, pls.
Yup I need more Opeth too!
Hey Andrew. Chuck founded Death to create exactly what was going on in his head. He was a perfectionist! The lineup was always evolving but it worked perfectly for this band. A lot of legendary musicians came out of this band. Death was the creation of Technical Death Metal IMO. They set the bar for everyone that came after. If I remember right this was recorded at Morrisound Studios in Florida. Chuck wanted the recordings to sound like what he could play live so very little digital going on here if any. Great reaction.
"drums are not the time, drums are the color" - so true, so profound.
I remember when Richard used to leave the funniest voicemails on the Stern Show! They were so funny Howard would eventually end up hiring Richard fulltime, dude is hilarious! His parents were awesome!
Oh wow!
Just watching your face throughout the song is such a joy! Thank you for doing this song. Death deserves all the praise, no matter if it's Sean, Gene or Richard playing the drums!
I love seeing the genuine smile on your face when an epic moment hits!!! I’m a huge DEATH fan and actually found your channel because of it. I can tell you truly enjoy this band and it’s many incarnations. Cheers man.
and this album has a AWESOME cover from "Painkiller"! from Judas Priest
I am not a drummer, but even if I was and I had the skill to play a song like this the whole way through, I'd probably have a jammer about 2 minutes in. The stamina required to play a set of songs like this live is unbelievable.
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys in a small bar in Detroit for the album before this one with Christy. What a show. I will always remember and cherish that experience. I was so close to chuck I could reach out and touch him. Christy was a powerhouse, had the whole stage shaking.
That concept of the Black Sabbath influence where you come to a full halt on a section in a song and start up a totally new thing is even massively more true for their song Spirit Crusher, lmao.
This album is one of my favorite metal drum recordings ever. You nailed it, it's so organic. And no one plays like Richard Christy did on this album. Really inventive drumming throughout.
this band doesn't have a bad album
R.I.P Chuck Schuldiner
Andrew richard was always an under the radar drummer with bad luck one of the hardest hitters ,no triggers, and a practice regiment beyond comprehension to most death died control denied died he was in afew different good american bands iced earth also but just never got his break if you want to see him in action check out charred walls of the damned his solo project he wrote most material and lyrics he has good footage of tracks and studio takes filmed
I can hear the work.
This is next level good
You should hear the drumming on the Human album. I saw them live in 1991? On the human tour. Death were best band . R.I.P. Chuck
When I think of Richard Christy I think of his cymbal work. So tasteful and inspiring. Legendary drummer in my book.
I like to point out that Richard Christy also played with Chuck on his side project Control Denied. Another band you should try out. It has clean vocals as well.
I really wish more channels would check out Control Denied, The Fragile Art Of Existence is an epic album!! when metal was METAL
I dig it Igor
Chuck is the stuff legends are made of. He was hella modest too, which just ads to how likeable he actually was. Died way too soon, and is forever loved and missed. But if we are talking drums I mean, this albums chops are so tight, its undeniable. I love how it seems almost off the rails at some points but always is locked right in.
Yeah this is special Jonny
This is the gold standard of drumming in metal in my opinion. it is so different, jazzy, raw real drum records and just insane to say the least. Richard is an amazing drummer and i've never heard anyone like him besides gene hoglan.
As much as I love Gene Hoglan, this album is one of the greatest drumming performances in metal history.
Gene is still better
IN ANY GENRE🙏
@@jaysonmerritt6666 You sound like you’re five years old
Death were on another level compared to their extreme metal peers at the time. Their singer/guitarist, and founder Chuck Schuldiner was an absolute musical genius. He had a knack of finding EXTREMELY talented musicians to work with him too. Richard Christy was no exception. While it was his only album with Death, he left a very memorable impression for some insane work. Incredible drummer. Incredible band.
I really like the drums on this album because it's not just following the meter. In songs like scavenger especially you can hear these "accelerations" that really boost up the dynamics of the songs.
RIP Chuck. Metal Legend. This band slays all.
Perfect timing, I was just going back and re-watching your old Death videos on Sean and Gene the other day.
I can't think of too many bands that I'd consider to have a flawless catalogue. Death, The Police, and Immortal are the first ones that come to mind.

This record was digitally recorded on ProTools 6 LE 98-99. Effects were not added in after it was recorded, but during the recording process before the mix.
So.. freakin.. TIGHT. Those tasteful snappy flourishes throughout make the drums in this song so killer.
To me, this Album ist the ultimate Essence of Chuck's Music, his Vision in Sound, Rhythm, Emotion, I think that I can hear what he had to say without words, without Lyrics.
Unfortunaly it was his last Album, but it was his best one.
He had one more album, but he called it 'Control Denied' Richard Christy played drums on it as well
Definitely check out the Control Denied album, he didn't even actually want to make this Death album initially but he owed the label one last Death album. Control Denied is the sound he wanted since just after Symbolic.
All DEATH albums were remastered by the Schuldiner Estate under Relapse Records from 2011 to 2016 in 2 disc "deluxe" editions, except for their 1995 release, which was remastered in 2008, and released under Roadrunner Records. For some reason, Roadrunner is reluctant in handing over the Rights to their catalog releases. Sounds of Perseverance (1999) was the first of the Relapse Remasters and released in 2011. They actually worked backwards. Newest album first, all the back to the original debut, which came out in 2016, but originally released in 1987.
It went like this:
Symbolic (1995) - Remaster (2008) Roadrunner Records
Sounds of Perseverance (1999) - Remaster (2011) Relapse Records
Individual Thought Patterns (1993) - Remaster (2011) Relapse Records
Human (1991) - Remaster (2011) Relapse Records
Spiritual Healing (1990) - Remaster (2012) Relapse Records
Leprosy (1988) - Remaster (2014) Relapse Records
Scream Bloody Gore (1987) - Remaster (2016) Relapse Records
It's just a damn shame that Chuck died in 2001. The Metal World could have had many more awesome DEATH albums throughout the 21st Century here, especially since Metal got popular again in the late 90s/early 2000s. When I first got introduced to DEATH in 1990 as a 16 year old kid in High School, I loved the music, but wasn't all that thrilled with the Death Metal growl, as it was a grand new thing in those days. However, Chuck's somewhat intelligible delivery was tolerable even to these young ears, so I ended up collecting their catalog on cassette up until Symbolic because Sound of Perserverance was only on CD. I didn't switch to CDs full time until 2003. I bought a few before that, but it wasn't until 2003 that I made the full jump. I have way more CDs now than I ever had cassettes...somewhere around 900 now I think. I think I only had about 300 cassettes maybe, I don't remember. Can't recall the capacity of my cassette cases.
But anyway. Yeah, you mentioned one's musical tastes change throughout the years...YEP. I don't know how many times my tastes have changed since the mid-80s. I'll be into certain bands or sub genres, and then all of a sudden, something different comes out and I'll either move to it, or hate it. The 90s were an awful time for me for music. When you're used to the awesome fun stuff from the 80s, like Hair Metal and Thrash Metal, and then Grunge and Alt Rock comes along in the 90s, I was like 🤮🤮. Thank God nuMetal (post Grunge) and Power Metal broke thru the haze in the late 90s. But Metal really came roaring back in the early 2000s. You even had a retro-Thrash Metal Revival circa 2007. Never thought I'd see that again. Oh, there were a few old Thrash Metal bands from the 80s still sticking around thru the 90s, like Kreator, Flotsam & Jetsam, Megadeth, Overkill, Testament, but some, like the former ones listed there adjusted their sound to fit the times and it just didn't work for their OG fans. Kreator finally came back in 2001 with a return to form album. Megadeth released probably one of the worst albums in their catalog in 1999. Overkill went from a punk-inspired Thrash Metal in the 80s and early 90s to a Groove Metal for the rest of the 90s. But returned to form in the 2000s. Testament pretty much stayed true to form in the 90s, but after their 1999 release "The Gathering" more or less called it quits, until 2008 when they reformed and started putting out Records again after the Thrash Revival. They've released 4 albums since. I liked all but one of them. One of them was just too repetitive, and the mix wasn't all that great.
I'd be interested to hear you compare and contrast the different approaches each of the Death drummers took to similar musical ideas. I'd also REALLY love to see what you think of Dirk Verburen's work with Soilwork, say on a slower song like "Epitome" and on uptempo songs as well (he's now in Megadeth).
got to see them play this live in a small club in belgium in 1998 they were always my favorite band
Ever since I first heard this album, the drums stood out to me. They really don't sound like any other metal album.
Great pick! Great drummer!
Death only had sensational drummers (that go really Well with when you have chuck schuldiner writing his great songs, as always)
All line ups of this band was borderline flawless. Check out more death! Great reaction
Rip Chuck!
Meh, their older stuff didn't have "amazing" drummers (Reinert, Hoglan, and Christy are god-tier), but the older albums had competent but generally uninspiring drumming.
@@blppt the band as a whole played more technical stuff later on, the early stuff has great drumming for the music they're playing. its old school death metal my dude
Its a shame we didnt get more with this line up rip chuck one of the greatest. Richard was great too
Thanks again for doing some honest metal reviews-Sean, Gene, and Richard are all amazing🤘🤘
this is refreshing and makes me pass heavy gas while watching and listening.
Death, the founding band of death metal...RIP 6 string genius Chuck Schuldiner🎸🤘🏻🕯
Andrew, you should do a reaction week of different Death albums...technical masterpieces👌🏻
I actually like the sound of this
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Yes, that is right, sounds great. All Death albums are masterpieces in themselves. If I can recommend one, it would be the 1995 album "Symbolic" with Gene Hoglan on drums. Briljant if you ask me (and many other metalheads)😉
Been waiting on a Death track since you did Opeth and The Ocean. Good on ya! Now do MORE!
An amazing song on a phenomenal album.
Richard is the man! And a classy dude, super cool to chat to etc
One of the "best albums" in Death's discography- which is chock full of them. It would've been fascinating to see how Schulinder's style would have kept evolving had he not died prematurely. Music never made lost to history.
Yes...I've waited for this for a long time.!! 👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yessss, more of Death please 🙏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻❤️
In 1999, the drums where Alesis D4 triggers . All pseudo metal was using the D4. There were some organic drums mixed in.
Temazo!, parte de un Discazo!. Saludos desde 🇨🇱
I recommend you check out some of Richards practice videos. He is absolutely an amazing drummer.
Can't wait
@@AndrewRooneyDrums He was also in a couple more groups called Iced Earth and Charred Walls Of The Damned. I learned of Richard from when I use to listen to the Howard Stern Show. He is a very humble drummer and always praises other drummers.
You should listen to the unfed pendulum by Unexpect. My band was lucky enough to play a show with them and my jaw was on the floor.
Richard christy is mah faaavorite...
Fantastic Band.. Chuck was Gold playing guitar and screaming in unison.. so much dynamic composition and interesting drumming.. ahead of its time this band.. captivating!
Richard Christy is a beast!!
Wow had never heard this song, it's like a concept album all in one song, really intricate. Thanks for the great breakdown analysis 👏🤙
You should check out the whole album. A metal masterpiece 🤘
@@rayzerd77 awesome, i definitely will, thanks 🤘
Richard Christy is sooo under rated!!!
I had never heard of him! 🤯
You can also hear Richard Christy on the Iced Earth albums Horror Show, Tribute to the Gods, and The Glorious Burden. He's always been one of my favorites
your review is on point, Chuck was an extreme perfectionist when choosing his band members
From Missouri, USA. I have met Richard. Wasn’t friends or anything but he played this area early on with a band called Public Assassin that had a raging scene here in Springfield in the early 90s. I went on to play with guys he had played with but I’ve heard a few stories. Love that whole album. Awesome on every instrument and composition.
AWESOME!!
I got this album from my classmates for my 18th birthday...great stuff! Cheers!
That’s awesome Zoran 🤘
