    If you buy one of these be prepared to start repairing and replacing parts. I got my V10 DX in January and I'm already working on a second replacement part. Great sounding basses but definitely not boutique build quality. Waiting for sweetwater to send me a new battery compartment with wiring.

    My sire V10 DX is not even one year old and I already have to start repairing the 9-volt battery compartment box brand new batteries and when I close the compartment something goes wrong on the inside where the preamp stops working so I have to play it in passive mode

    Nice but you could by a custom Maruszczyk bass for the price of the V10.

  •  4 роки тому +1

    I tried the V10 at a local dealer. It's gorgeous. However there was plenty of neck dive in my specimen. Body was too light. About the price, only I can say I recently purchased a (NOS) Japan made Prestige series Ibanez SR5000 for the same price. Honestly can't find any fault on the V10 but price should be around $1200 to sit correctly among other basses.

    What's new? The prices. New lines come out just to bump the prices and confuse. The sires started out as a good deal but even the first ones that they came out with are up over $200 from where they started.

    other than differ woods, feels and styles (LOOKS), it seems like all the V series (V3,V7,VINTAGE V7, V9 AND V10) they sound almost exactly the same. Is it just me? Yes i own, V3, V7 AND V9 ASH.

    • @MacReviewzOnline
      @MacReviewzOnline 4 роки тому

      not at all. Ash versus Alder big difference. vintage versus regular big difference. but they all have a base sound that' great and better than Fender. The P10 and V10 sound very bright and modern, like MArcus. in your face. Very studio, balanced, yet avoid being sterile (unlike Fender Elites and Pros).

    I'd expect a real flame maple cap for that price not a veneer. If a Chapman pro guitar can have a flame top for £800 i'm sure they could have included one. The cost of the upgrades is probably no more than about £150 and they charge an extra £500+. I have a lot of time for what Sire and Marcus have done with the brand, but i can't help but feel this is a bit of a money grab IMO. I guess with the brand becoming popular with 'Pro' players, they need a product at a 'Pro' price.

    re: roast vs bake from a chef's perspective and trivia fun. There is no defined difference Bake and roast are generally used by context. In general, proteins get roasted and non-proteins get baked. i can attest as a teenager growing up in NYC in the 80's ,I've been baked and roasted, and can't remember the difference, haha.
    For any one who cooks just for fun, Here's the fun food trivia to stump and torture your pretentious foodie friends...
    What's the difference between a vegetable and a fruit? There isn't any. The smart minds go to seeds and reproduction aspects botanically, and others acid content but there are so many anomalies and variations from botanical to culinary terminology (often French), that there is no actual difference.
    example, tomatoes used to be a vegetable, now classified as a citrus fruit.
    Hope i didn't waste anyone's time, cheers.

    I don't think Marcus Miller himself will ever move to V10. V7 was a revolution and this model is not a part of that revolution. Too pricy and the sound difference is marginal. However, pro musicians can now differentiate themselves from amateur musicians playing V7s all around.

    • @MacReviewzOnline
      @MacReviewzOnline 4 роки тому

      I think the V7 gen sounds better, of course, if you are a Fender fan. the new basses have a more modern sound, which as a producer, doesnt sound too good when recording, but it's great for Jams (or if you are Marcus, and it' about 2.5 hours of bass music).

    • @ilpatongi
      @ilpatongi 5 років тому

      @Hinterland_Rider Well I can give you some opinions on the V7 if you'd like.
      The preamp is simply not great, or good actually, it has big jumps in gain just from tweaking the EQ wich isn't ideal, pots also feel a little bit cheap.
      The hardware isn't great either, it's better than something Squier but maybe a bit less good than mexican Fenders, the bridge in particular is meh, kinda difficult to adjust at times, tuners feel cheap.
      Frets are pretty good but not that good like everyone else seems to sasy about them, you definitely could improve them.
      Overall for 500 bucks there's better used stuff, at least for the 1st gen run, don't know much about the 2nd gen but I think they didn't change much
