Ordered one of the green P5s after I saw this. Arrived from you today. Thanks Andertons! I haven't bought a new bass in years, but fell in love with the Sire range after I tried one at a local blues jam night. Amazing quality.
Nathan is a proper lunatic, in addition to being an amazing musician. I'm not even a bass player, and "All About The Bass" are my favorite Anderton's videos.
My first bass after a 20 year hiatus was a lefty Sire V7 back in 2016 but it had the original 7.5" radius, which after I played a flatter radius fretboard I realized was the issue. It sounded great but I needed a flatter fretboard. I'll have to try the modern series if I can find a lefty somewhere to try. I found that I really like Schecter basses for the playing experience.
@@HollywoodTheTradeKing the newer non vintage ones have 9.5 radii i think now. If you get the 'vintage' ones i think they still have the 7.5. it is a real problem for jazz basses, especially 5ers as the radius doesnt even closely match the pickup, and so you either have a terrible setup that has balanced output or you just accept that your top and bottom strings are going to be way louder than the middle strings
Interesting that the bridge on the D5 here is the traditional Sire bridge, but the website and my personal D5 had no string thru body and brass saddles.
The D stands for “Doesn’t matter, we got another all about the bass video!!!” You guys are AWESOME!!!!!! Am I the only one that prefers Nathan’s playing over Marks (no disrespect intended), and I can watch Lee and Nathan talk and play bass all day. Cheers guys
Loving these videos. Seeing all these Sire Bass videos has determined what my next Bass (yes, I'm lefthanded) is going to be. Now I just need to decide between V5 and P5; or see what's available at the time! lol
Every music store I go to doesn't have them in stock. Buying a bass unseen is risky business for me. There's always some defect limitation. I wouldn't want to order a bass that takes a while to get. You guys are always fun to listen in your demos.
I want a D5, but can't find one at a US dealer. I see "2nd generation" stickers on all but the D5. Did Sire fix the noise/electronics problems with the original D5? How complex is it to order equipment from Anderton's for those of us in the US? Thanks.
Would be nice to see D5 IN 5 STRING BASS,ALSO, CAN WE GET A YAMAHA TRB2 6 STRING COPY IN THE SIRE M7-6, OR M7-7 STRING BASS TRB COPY with that VIBRATING BRIDGE❤❤
Im really worried that the v5 that i ordered have a darker roasted fretboard and head Since im ordering the natural after seeing one with almost matching color my colleague have, but the youtube reviews looks inconsistent in the fretboard color
I want to order a P5. Can u help me decide between 4 or 5 string. I live in the US. I just read disclaimer about the electronics. Will it work in the US? Also can you elaborate on the taxes that I’m u aware of? Sorry for all the questions. I have. Ever ordered anything overseas before. Do you know if they will become available in the US? JJ
I sent a query to customer service. Do you have any insight on what the duties might be from Uk to Us zip code 76021 I have a P 5 in my cart. I would like to order from you since I love your videos. I watch another video with Lee explaining some of it but it a little over noggin. I do see a total of E422.50
Very cool "Maiden Voyage' opening jam. Maiden Voyage was called at my local jam night a few years ago and the drummer said "I hate that tune." I know this because it just happened that the place went quiet exactly as he uttered those words. Awkward...
ppl in the chat. what bass would you recommend to someone that is a complete noob who wants to learn but wants something that sounds good and will last
You should check out this video you're commenting on lol. Joking aside, if my v7 was my first bass i probably wouldnt have my other 2 (ibanez sr300 and peavey millenium) for any reason other than that they're nice to look at. That said, i personally think the d series would be best for a complete beginner to learn on as there are much fewer controls to distract you while the active v or p series (or the m series not mentioned in this video) would be best for playing with different sounds. While i do choose my sire over my ibanez, it is worth mentioning that the neck on the ibanez is my favorite of my 3 basses. Really slim and easy on my short, fat fingers and would def recommend to beginners. Tough to choose with all the choices out there. Whatever you go with, make sure it looks good to you. An awesome looking instrument will inspire you to pick it up more often. A boring looking one will likely sit there once the initial excitement of having it at all wears off and your progress plateaus.
@@ryusato5594 Great advice. I'm a bassist that just started guitar, wanna know how I chose which one to buy? All on looks lol. I bought a Blueberry burst flamed ES-335. Can't put this down. I just love how it looks, and it makes me study guitar for 3 hours a day.
Any of these three types of basses would be great for a beginner. The V5 (the fender jazz bass style) will be most versatile due to its two pickup configuration, but great music has been made by people playing basses similar to all three of these. I haven’t played a Sire but they’ve gained a strong reputation as a good value. From personal experience I recommend beginners take a look at the G&L brand Tribute series line of basses. I have a G&L Tribute JB bass that costs about $500US and is a great sounding, looking, and playing bass that I’d play anywhere, anytime.

I wonder who this review is made for? The guy on the left acts half his age and is insufferable, plus he doesn't know what he's playing; and the guy on the right lied when he said that the D5 has through-body. Yeah, they can play, that's fine, but everything else in just annoying. Maybe worth changing it? You are a big international store.... (sorry everyone, mini rant here)
Got my Green P5 and Vintage White D5 last week! Can't wait to review these bad boys😍
Got my Vintage White D5 delivered yesterday because of your unboxing video Jonny :)
@@nigelevans3227 Amazing! Think Amdertons owe me some money then! 😝
All the basses sound incredible, and it's great fun watching Nathan and Lee.
Love to see a sire p5 vs Fender player series precision comparison. These sound awesome!
Lee's playing never ceases to amaze me
the V5 is amazing, the color, the sound
I own fretless Marcus Miller bass, this is an incredible instrument with such a rich tone. Simply amazing
The d5 with tone all the way down is something special 😃
Ordered one of the green P5s after I saw this. Arrived from you today. Thanks Andertons!

OMG! that intro jam is brutal.
Damn, that D5 looks and sounds gorgeous.
"Every little thing it does is magic." Love it.
Those baked necks are truly things of beauty!
I picked up a used V7 5 string a few weeks ago. 100% worth it. These are fantastic instruments.

I'm not even a bass player, and "All About The Bass" are my favorite Anderton's videos.
My best review! 😍
@@nathanking1970 ...'e's a lad!
I love that Sea Foam P5. The contrast to the roasted maple neck and the classic P bass tones. Heaven.
I think that color is sonic blue. But yes, they are wicked cool! And insane price
@Caprise - Music it's mild green because legally they aren't allowed to call it seafoam green. Sonic blue is much more blue.
Great reviews....but the intro and outro jams are the best! I can listen to you guys play all day!!
Lovely..A new fix of All about the Bass..I have the chippy ordered 😁
Awesome lead in JAM!!!! Yummy selection of basses too......😊
Been waiting for this ages. Was thinking of pre-ordering the p5 but really wanted to see a review first.
As someone who owns almost exclusively tuxedo guitars and basses, I *absolutely* want a D5 in full bore halloween orange and black.
Fiesta and Razzle? Blimey, sweet youthful memory!
😍🤣

Yea on a jazz that's a real issue, especially on a 5er
Wow, that was my experience. So which Marcus Miller bass has the flatter fret board?

This is great fun. I really like your playing and your positive attitude. Thanks a million for all the great videos
Appreciate the episode and really enjoyed the intro!
Fantastic playing Gang.
I've been waiting for this one

Love Nathan’s expert knowledge of the British ‘jazz’ magazines of yesteryear 😂 Razzle red 🤣

The guy playing the dad is well into his classic British "art" magazines! ;-)
Haha! I've always felt the dynamic was dodgy uncle taking his recently of-age nephew for "a proper lads night out"
Don't you know who he is?
@@kingstumble Yeah, it's just the vibe I get from them. It's pretty sweet, really

🤣
Just ordered a V5 in Tobacco Sunburst. Can't wait to get it
I'd be interested to hear the D5 head-to-head with the V5 bridge pickup.
Superb demo as usual
I think the D stands for Dusty.... as in Hill
A real cutout for the Allen wrench, simple but brilliant!
The P5 sounds amazing and the D5 looks amazing 😂
Friggin beautiful!!!
Really good basses for the price
Not just for the price!!
Really like the look of the red p5
Nathan and Lee love it.
great intro. I enjoyed it
great basses for the ducats. i wish they had kept the vintage small frets tho. the mediums are kinda big @ .095 x .051
Love these sessions. And I don't even play bass.

That outro was 🤌
Yhanks guys! are these basses then newly produced? Or are those produced in 2018 as the "second generation"?
I want the P5R but in butterscotch.
Just ordered a butterscotch DR because of you both. I have never had a roasted Maple neck, but hot damn, they are sexy¡

The roasted a bit too dark but still nice
you shall see the neck of my old 61 P-bass that i roasted myself in the oven. Thats what i call call dark.
Trim a bit off the end of those head stocks and they’d look amazing.
if you are crazy for 3-string basses do that.
Epic.
Top presenters.
Damn it, I want all five..... what's wrong with me? Please spare me the answer...... rooled...... ohhh!
If I were starting over with both guitars and basses, I’d be hard-pressed not to go with Sire.
aaaaand they're gone!
Is it only me who doesn't like this super high gloss necks ? I played a p5 FL and even though it sounded ok I didn't like the feel on the neck
Now I feel don't have that much desperate reason to have Fender American series basses
Just wish they offered 12" radius on the 4s & 5s and closer string spacing on the 5😔
"Left-handed and Fretless." Isn't that a Talking Heads song?
