this song starts playing when corey is able to make it to the top of the half pipe in front of the daggers leader and his minions. He skates off and afterwards he ends up in a crowd thats staring the cool antics of a skater and there he sees for first time crissy and needless to say the song fits perfectly the scene obviously.

Glad to know I am not the only one that has been desperately searching for this song for two decades (after seeing Dangerous Love). Does anyone know what the line is following "I couldn't let me feelings show" at 0:26 ? I've been trying to solve that riddle for as long as I have known of the song. No matter how many times I listen to the song I can't figure it out.
I listened to it with that line in mind, and I don't think that's it. It really sounds like the first two words are "That was" and the last one is or rhymes with "me". What do you think?

Johnny Cade Hmmn. I think we both are a little right. I always assumed that the word was "fell", but I think it is "felt", which means it is "Every time I tried before love felt like a war I could never win." Radical.
I contacted Mr. Demers asking about the lyrics via his website about eight years ago and got an e-mail back from some personal assistant saying Mr. Demers would contact me soon, but I never heard back.
"I couldn't let my feelings show. (the) night was falling on me." Thats what i hear... :)
Johnny Cade I couldn't possibly be "Never before now" because the line is definitely six syllables and that suggestion is only five. Though I still disagree on "Never fall in love, no," it does have the correct number of syllables.
