Brian is honestly the most humble and amazing talented drummers I’ve ever met. The underground scene is blessed. Im with the other commenter who recommended Rich Hoek. He is another amazingly talented drummer
Bryan uploads CONSTANTLY on his channel, and if you consider this is 10 years old recorded off a phone you can imagine what you are in for. Great video!
👀
@AndrewRooneyDrums I should have dropped a link to his channel haha
youtube.com/@fastgrinds?si=U2QIM8f7DOeM-Xgs
Bryan has gotten so much better too, if you can believe it. Super nice dude who just plays drums constantly. Fun upload Andrew. Much love
Im an old guy. Makes me think of Mick (the human tornado) Harris. Napalm Death.
The OG!
When he replaced Frank in PLF, I didn't know what to think until I saw him play their set live. Great dude.
Bryan's playing with PLF is amazing as well. Hell, everything he's done is TOP TIER.
my favorite drummer period.
You should watch Brutal Truth and Richard Hoak for a very different experience 😅 It's stressful looking at him! It looks like he's just about to fall off the chair all the time, or like he's desperate to keep up. He's hilarious!
The grind king
Bryan is a top notch grindcore drummer... and a blast beat god
Kill the client
PLF
cognizant
Everything this guy touch turns to gold!
What a beast, more grindcore! 🤘
Yup so good!
You should check out Gridlink and Noisear to hear the drumming with the other instruments.
Check out his new album with Gridlink 'coronet juniper' it is insaaaane
Seriously? I figured Gridlink was over after the No One Knows What The Dead Think release
I am so happy you are getting some exposure to the grindcore style.
Would really like if you did some more wild grimy grind players.
What a super-fast and accurate drummer! This is for-sure grind.
Notice near the end of the song how he leads into double strokes/rolls from his left hand? And also the intricate rhythms on the cymbals.
I'm keen to go and see if there's any more recent stuff of his.
An Amygdala ("A-mig duh luh") is a small piece of brain anatomy. It's a medical term.
About the "YOD" though, I have no clue.🎼
There’s a ton of recent stuff of his. This band turned into Cognizant, who just released their last album this month, alongside another project of his, Gridlink. In addition, you’ve got Noisear, Kill the Client, PLF, Phobia, tons of music he’s involved in.
Uh-MIG-dall-Ah… which is the part of the brain that deals with emotions
Oooohhhhhh gotcha 👌
Yes yes so excited you finally made it to Bryan. His current stuff is insane.
Bryan is a power house+Been solid for years!!
you know this is how a combustion engine sounds right before the metal bits exit the engine lol
Not only are his chops out of this world, he’s the coolest and most humble dude you’d ever meet. Seen him live a couple times across different projects, his power and precision is unbelievable. For me, his work in Noisear is particularly wild.

as a hardcore/grind player i can def say he is one of the best if not the best in the genre. him and yuya yakushiji from viscera infest are incredible
Holy Crap Bat Man!!!! WTF???? Damn!!!!
🤯
I've smelled Bryan multiple times in my life and it was a real treat. He smells like Twinkies and gravel. Stand up guy. Sit down guy too.
Bryan is 100% god level.
Not something I would normally listen to but that was pretty cool.
GREAT
Slave to the grind its a documentary :)
Welcome to the Grindcore section :D:D:D
Kappow !!!
Grindcore is all about blast beats! Bryan, Jake Cregger, Vijesh Ghariwala, and Gobinda Senchury are some of the best in the genre right now. There's tons of amazing drummers in extreme music, but they're easily some of the best around. No studio magic or triggers, just super loud and precise blasts
He can whistle pretty good too, haha
Hia Andrew, thanks for another great video.. boy, this guy brings fire!
I hope one day you’ll do some videos about Jack DeJohnette. I’m worried that he’s becoming another forgotten genius drummer/composer
I saw him live years ago!
yeah he doesn't need mics to be audible hahahaha he's a true master. one in a trillion.
He's also playing drums for Flesh Parade
yeah this my fuckin boy right here.
His UA-cam channel is a black hole of gravity blasts
Hey, I know that drummer 😅
would love to hear a studio version of this
"Insect Warfare" has entered the chat.
Ah, grindcore is great. Basically crust punk sped up to a ridiculous degree, and folks like Napalm death invented the blast beat. Add in some extreme tempo shifts and very... non-standard song structures and there you are. Big crossover with death metal (which took a lot of cues from grind back in the late 80s... I'm old). The best drummers have *ridiculous* hand speed.
As to this guy, seriously clean. Oof.
John Merryman from Cephalic Carnage is a personal fave. Utter monster.
Napalm death did not invent the blast beat. It’s been around for a long time it just wasn’t very popular until them
Another guy to check out is Marco Pittruzzella, dude is insane. Any of his videos are great especially his Rings of Saturn covers, as he did he up with them as a touring drummer for a bit. Other people might know him from Braindrill, Vital Remains or who he is with now, Waking the Cadaver. Also met him about 15 years ago, super nice and humble dude
Shearer? Is that you, mate?
YES
Nah, he's Rooney.
He's taken the crown from Dave Witte. As far as im concerned. Dave Witte is the greatest who ever did it but Fajardo is right freaking there with him
Would be amazing if Human Remains reunited with BF on drums, Dave already said he can't play this type of music no more. BF has already played with 2/ 5 of HR while in Gridlink.
I wanna see your reaction to This jazzgrind band one day called Le Scrawl
He was on Slave to the grind documentary. I think he's here in texas Houston area with PLF
He doesn't play with P.L.F. anymore. Dropped out to focus on his other bands: Gridlink, Trucido, Cognizant, Triage.
i do believe he is from houston regardless
PLEASE, react to Mark Zonder of Fates Warning, an exceptional drummer in an exceptional band, who needs to be professionally analysed, I would suggest "Monument", the official video.
Incredible drummer, yeah. So unique.
Unique is the word.
Shame about the sound quality of the recording, but massively talented for sure.
I think what they have done with this genre is they thought lets speed punk up to eleven lol a watched all of it even though it wasn't really my thing I wanted to see where it went it basically just stayed the same throughout fast as lightning and on the subject of speed i said to a very good drummer I know i think he said he was 62 so well experienced in the drum department lol any way i said i have been getting faster Jim im kind of stuck at 147 bpm but ill try and get faster but i said what Ive been doing is fast and slow so some billy idol for the fast stuff and 1 of the greatest bands of all time i mean come on your wearing there t shirt so pink Floyd for the slow stuff as i said it forces me to count lol and Jim's words back to me its the slow stuff that separates the men from the boys have a great day Mr Rooney
Yeah, it was pretty much crust punk but sped up, or at least the British version was in the mid-late 80s. The folks who are good at it - basically handle the extreme speed & tempo shifts - are insane. Especially the hand speed & accuracy.
@hairychris444 Well, he certainly had the speed and accuracy this guy, lol 😆 have a great day, man
How can I see you video
Meth... It's a hell of a drug.. A_MIG_DA_LA it's a brain part..
He doesnt do any sorta speed drugs.. idk if he even touches caffiene. He practices hours pretty much every day
Never heard of "grindcore drumming" before so I looked it up. Its all about speed. Speed rules apparently above all else. Its impressive and all but I'll take melody, composition, tonal variation and reasonably fast chops with time signature changes any day.
Sure! Just something different that I wouldn't normally listen to. So that's cool :)
so in 10 minutes you now know all there is to know about grind
🤡
No, certainly not but the highlight of my brief investigation into the genre yielded that information.@@festernaecus
Speed and accuracy
He’s playing with your damn fifth I know he threw glass beads attendance you overdo that it’s too much
Great drummer but this is just a cacophony to me. Organized noise. Sure as hell ain't enjoyable like Rush or Yes. My opinion.
True but its supposed to be noise, nature of gc
I love Yes and Rush also! But I also love Grindcore. Its music that is not for the faint of heart. It will always be underground music. Not meant to be popular.
I see, thank you. I was brought up in a different era but we had the Beatles, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Rush, etc.
@@scottzappa9314 All good! My dad had all those records your talking about and I love em all. But I also love extreme punk and metal music. It's all great!
Yes it is brother! Yeah I may well be as old or older than your dad, LOL
that's not drumming. it's only noise.
And your ears are not ears. They are just earwax.
🤣🤣🤣@@le_boucher
@@le_boucher yes, insulting me. that's useful.
@@PierreRanger-QC You're insulting Bryan, so fair play
Telling that to a grinder is a compliment. You know nothing about grind.
