Likewise I’m yet to open the 15 but I’m sure you’ll enjoy! Even if you’re not mad on the 10 initially, as this series shows, it really does come in to its own over time!

Nice head to head. Springbank ten is for me a sure 8.5 out of 10. What I like about it is the batch variation. Always keep a hefty sample of each one for comparison. I find the CS bottlings a very different beast. What I should do though is calibrate one down with water to 46% and then do a head to head. Feels like it would be fairer. Anyway, cheers and enjoyed your Campbeltown trip video a lot. Must get back. Slainte.

Cheers! Thank you. Yes absolutely bringing it down to 46% would be interesting, but then I feel it would suffer from the lesser aging possible. Both still fantastic experiences as they are mind! Cheers! 🥃

Always partial to a single malt, I remember going on detachment to RAF Machrihanish, now Campbelltown airport, back in the eighties. One of my colleagues picked up what looked like a milk crate of Springbank. Unlabeled bottles and pretty much clear, it was awful. The only thing I've ever had that was worse was Zivania in Cyprus, highly alcoholic dish water!

Oh wow. How strange! Springbank certainly has a dedicated following and makes some incredibly flavourful malts these days!

I've always controlled my uncorkings so I don't have too may bottle open at once but, I think the time to open one of my Springbank 12 cask strengths might be approaching. Put a few drops of water in the glass next time you try that. That should let it open up. And, Springbank 10? 95.

I am very jealous of the 12yo CS - I really really want a bottle 😅 be interested to hear how you rate that in comparison! Cheers!
