Really loved this video. RuneScape's always been my favorite game. Dumb question, though. What's the music transition you use? It sound so familiar...
Thank you! Not sure the name of the track but it's the jingle that plays while unlocking a new tower / map piece in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Here since 2k subs since we’re adding another great storyteller in the community
@@TeeeOn2Wheels Thank you! I'm a big fan of those other storytellers as well.
cool to see what was happening IRL at that time, like current president and shrek release
@@Arapoib It was a different time back then for sure.
anazing, gives so much more depth and new views on the game
@@MrStardux It only gets even more interesting from here. Stay tuned for the rest of the series!
@@HamOSRSsubbed!
I started playing runescape in 2000 it was crazy early. Just before they added a member area.
@@tallsoldier True OG!
great vid - may i ask what the music jingle you use in the transitions is? when you show the map and the date?
@@MrMosstin I don't know the exact same but it's the jingle that plays when you unlock a new tower & piece of the map in the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
As someone who’s never played RuneScape I am very interested in the lore
You should try out Old School RuneScape at some point. Somehow it feels nostalgic even if you've never actually played before.
Words cannot describe how much I appreciate the Gordon Lightfoot reference!
@@Barqitect Love the Great Lakes and all of their folklore and culture ❤️
I was literally thinking two days ago, "i need to find a timeline of the RS map," and lo' and behold. ❤
@@AmerikanRejekt We'll probably put together a compilation video toward the end of the series of just the map changes and the dates. I have them all stacked on top of one another as layers in Photoshop so I can't imagine it would be too difficult.
@HamOSRS i love that and I love this project. excited to see the rest! 😁
@@AmerikanRejekt It's crazy because this was originally meant to be a throwaway side project while researching another project. The side project turned out to be way more interesting than the main project that no one cares about lol. Just funny the way it works out sometimes.
this was excellent
@@thehowlingjoker Thank you! We intend to continue the series here in the same style.
That high detail low detail pic really sent me 😢 OG player since 2004 ❤️
@@J2dad5389 Great year for the game. Stay tuned for future episodes of the series.
While I like playing OSRS as it is now, it must have been a completely different and more chill experience back then, when everyone was basically a handicapped UIM.
Anyways, nice video, always found the old times of RS interesting, like lore of the old times haha
I think Open RSC has a 2001scape server where you can experience what it was like back then except the server is mostly a ghost town of its own.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned for part 2 coming next.
Runescape seemed so much nicer back then, it seemed more about group play than what it feels like now which is a singleplayer game disguised as an MMO.
God.. I remember when they added that bank, n the silly recording of the wizard, the guy in the tree. Nostalgic.
Don't forget giving him stew and then a few moments later a bowl appears on the ground.
@HamOSRS that was a thing?? I was just a youngin on dial-up so my *everything* was few n far between back then, hah.
nothing more british than queuing up in game
@@ClaytonTwitchell I wouldn't expect anything less from the people who put Bob the Builder at #1 on their song charts.
