@@Sthasntrue but it’s vastly easier to get all 99s than it is on osrs! You can afk aoe farm and click 1 button to loot all your items, self healing aoe aswell, afk gwd bosses etc. rs3 has way more qol and easy scape features

You forgot to mention the fact that tokkuls are still sentient and are basically suffering the worst imagineable pain in being in that state and they wish to die. basically a "I have no mouth and I wish to scream" situation
31:25 The Tokkul entry is probably not just a reference to Tokkul being corpses, but also to the fact that they're still conscious, and in pain. There's a quest line about the discovery of this.

One thing you missed in sailing, there was an old graphic on the rs2 website that had a skill cape with an unidentified symbol on it, which led to much speculation the sailing skill would be added. It was a meme before it was genuinely announced as a real skill
I think it would've been good to mention that the rabbit is a reference to the Killer Rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Otherwise, thanks for a great video!

White cat22 is actually kind of a controversial HCIM death. When fossil island released, the deranged archeologist was supposed to be a non-wilderness alternative to the crazy archeologist to get a rune crossbow without 86 smithing or whatever it is. Well as players are wont to do, a safespot was found for the deranged archeologist, but as jagex wanted him to remain a dangerous alternative so as to not devalue the early rcb meta's risk, they hotfixed the game (which means you wouldn't have any warning that the behavior changed) to add an anti-safespot special attack to the deranged archeologist. This special attack is what killed white cat22. There is supposed to be a 15 second cooldown between special attacks, but the anti-safespot check bypasses this cooldown. White cat22 died by not having enough time to eat back up after the first special attack to survive the second, as they were back to back.
the fact that the green pixel was polled in the first place shows just how much creative freedom they've lost...
I mean, it is the old version of the game. Their creative freedom goes into rs3 for the most part. If people are playing the old version it's because they want the old version, and little stuff like an extra green pixel adds charm.
Then again, people probably weren't MAD about it and it wouldn't have made people stop playing. I guess the issue is less that they changed it and more that they changed it after polling returned "no."

The telephone sound is just an audio artifact caused by the samples being 8-bit. There's no reason why there would be a telephone sound in the fist place, as the RuneScape sounds are digital synthesized sounds instead of sounds recorded with a microphone.
Cooking is literally the recorded sound of bacon frying though.

Bonds are absolutely microtransactions, because you can sell them on GE for gold. Some people like to pretend they are not.
They're transactions, not microtransactions. You don't purchase them in-game, which is a core part of the definition. Not all game purchases are micro.

I disagreed with every pronunciation, however I don't think you could say any of them are "wrong", they are made up names. There's a great video of a bunch of jmods trying to pronounce names in runescape, such as Ardougne.

I also feel like something this iceberg missed is the Runescape music videos. People would record their character singing along to songs and time emotes and such to it, sometimes with a group of friends. I used to watch those all the time and even tried to make my own but I wasn't good enough at editing back in 2008 lol.

Very great list, love the editing on this video. With a game as old as Runescape you could make a nearly endless list to put in the iceberg, but if you ever do another one then I'd like to suggest the man in the Blue Moon Inn who is aware that he is in a computer game, the wooden ship which carried over from classic to RS2 but couldn't be obtained anymore, random events could kill people and they only had a minute to get their items before other players could loot them, people being able to duel anywhere back in classic, just to name a few.
I'd even be up for version specific icebergs, there's a lot of interesting pieces of trivia lurking in the shadows.

i have my own thing to add i never saw anybody talk about this and i never found the answer to what it is . . .anyway in rs3 if you set the graphics to max for the render distance then you go to the corporeal beast cave i forgot which corner to stand in but if you stand in the edge of the cave and look into the void like it 33:33 there is a strange room in the middle of the void just on the edge of your vision

100% bonds are microtransactions. They're not the worst thing in the world. RS3 is much worse with that. But in a game where economy is like half the progression, being able to outright buy gold with irl money is unquestionable MTX and P2W-Leaning.
Bonds are MTX that's not an opinion it's a fact. Granite shield one is a great conspiracy theory though. Can totally see it having a hint of truth to it.

The sound from the door is just that! What you’re hearing are overtones. All frequencies will cause other higher pitched frequencies to vibrate at certain intervals above the original one! Sometimes it gets crunchy
I remember old Runescape clients that claimed you could log in with you actual account and do stuff like gain gold and items, walk through walls, stuff like that. Never tried it because I knew better than to give my password to a third party, but I always wondered if they actually worked or if it was just a scam. Naturally you'd probably get banned anyway, but it was interesting to see. If I remember right, they even had video proof that they were legit, which means it was at least possible to accomplish.

Never played RuneScape but there was a similar game where an item was over-valued at 1 mil gold. Greedy ppl were quick to sell, so in my own greed, I said I was buying. Input 100k, and they were so excited, they agreed quickly. Worked several times because they didn’t pay attention to zeros.

Another you missed was why party hats, Christmas crackers, and Halloween masks are billions on RS3 but not on OSRS.
Basically, a glitch/bot (I forget which exactly) was found/used in order to duplicate the ever living poo out of them back in the early days of RS1. A lot of accounts even holding multiple party hats or crackers was banned as they were accused to duplicating them. This led to the party hat being an extremely rare item that could no longer be received, given it was part of a winter event.
Since then, the price of party hats and so on just skyrocketed to the point they’re now more GP than a Tbow in the GE.
You can't really compare the price of RS3 items to OSRS due to the massive inflation of GP in RS3. Blue partyhats are worth something like 200 billion GP.
Fun video. Hopefully we see something like this again but I do know making a video this good takes a long time. I did subscribe so don't pressure yourself on trying to make something to continue the big boost you just got.
