Tips for Painting a Dog in Oil
Вставка

- This is a time lapse recording of my painting of a white labrador retriever named Allie. It was a commission done from photo references, though I veered from the references to improve the pose, background, and shapes of the ear. (Dog ears are my favorite thing in the world, so I wanted to emphasize the typical labrador-shaped ear.)
I share a little insight into how I approach painting in general and also how to consider fur texture.

I wish I knew what colors you mixed for the shadow/dark areas
Lots of great info here; glad to see a high level artist being free with information, and sharing. That can only help up and coming artists wanting to learn, so kudos to you. The piece is gorgeous. The level of richness and refinement in the value work is SO good. You definitely take advantage of the strengths of Oil. Has that velvety smooth feel to it. Fantastic content. -Best of luck on your art and your channel, and much support from one artist to another. Liked and subbed.
Thank so much for the kind words, Larry! Great to meet you on here! Your channel looks really interesting, too... subscribed back!!
