So glad you're reacting to this because it really does give does useful information about the making of the song. Plus, getting to see what The Rev was like before he passed.
I was the same way with A Little Piece in Heaven. First time I heard it, I was turned off from it due to the completely different style of music it was; from how out there it was, in its weird way. However, I did soften to it and I love its uniqueness, its chaotic nature and its out-there video. It really is a great song, but if you take it a face value, like we both did, it just sounds morbid for the sake of being morbid
Yeah I remember when this album released, I was in line the same day and jammed all the way home to it. I was really thrown off by little piece of heaven. I actually skipped it about a minute in, I just didn’t know what to think and had no clue what it was supposed to be. I eventually went back and listen to it and was really confused. I listen to it again and again and eventually I guess it just grew on me. As a musician myself I could appreciate all the stuff I was hearing, but the lyrics were extremely disturbing and the song was very odd. Overtime the fans warmed up to it and it became a huge hit obviously. I think people expect new listeners to just love it right away, but it took a while for most of us to love it
100th Like. Deserves atleast 1k likes. I love the way you watched and heard them with such interest. And your inputs are always very precise interesting while also being informative
YOu should check out the song Unbound The Wild Ride and then watch the making of that song like this. They have a choir come in and sing over Shadow's vocals on a part of the and hearing them be blown away by his voice like us is kind of cool. a reaction in a reaction.
I remember the first time I heard "A Little Piece of Heaven" it gave me cognitive dissonance. Musically it's fantastic, but those lyrics! It's creative genius. The crazy horns and winds, the choir, and then that lovely chorus. An ex introduced me to A7x. After we broke up he told me this song reminded him of me. I made him clarify because I wasn't too keen on the stabby (and necro) part. He said I had his heart, at least for the most part. I think it was supposed to be a compliment.
"they played some odd stuff themselves so I guess that makes a lot of sense" I discovered Oingo Boingo because of this song, and listening to them I found myself going "...ohhhh, well no Wonder!" 😂
Hey Brother how ya'll doin, could ya'll check Bryan James "I'M NOT LOST" Great song TY won't bombard ya'll with other songs Take care Much love to all of ya'll

I never hated it. I loved it the second I heard it, the creativity involved just makes it even better.

Lol
Should also mention, the chorus melody is based on Boingo's "Nast Habits", along with some of the vocal melodies.
React to the save me breakdown!

Their absolute worst song according to Shadows himself. I like it tho.
