Great reaction video. This song isn't what a majority of their work sounds like. Although, they don't really have a typical sound aside from every song having a really catchy chorus. They have songs that dip into every other genre of music. Every track they have is fantastic. This one makes my top 3 favorites, along with "Buried Alive" and "Dancing Dead".
This song started as an idea for a Halloween EP that got scrapped. The band's drummer The Rev wrote the piano and some of the fast parts with scratch vocals over the top, and M. Shadows, the band's lead vocalist wanted to finish it so badly that the band slaved over it to make it happen. They were sad about the EP being cancelled, but Warner Brothers loved the song so much that they encouraged the band to put it on their self-titled album, which is their 4th album from 2007. The Rev sang the fast parts and a lot of the backing vocals. The band's guitarist Synyster Gates sang backing vocals on the chorus. There are two guitarists, and the other, Zacky Vengeance, doesn't play on this one but does the spoken word part during the wedding. The band had a session vocalist come in for the female parts, and The Rev often did them live. Johnny Christ played bass. Steve Bartek from the band Oingo Boingo, who composes a lot of Tim Burton films with Danny Elfman, did horn arrangements. The Rev only sang on a few songs, and he passed away from heart failure in 2009. It was caused by an overdose on heart medication, painkillers for eye surgery, and alcohol. His last song Fiction was recorded under the name Death on Christmas Day, 3 days before. He played piano and sang on it. That's one to listen to if you're up for a cry, though I'd recommend getting to know more of his drumming and his voice first. These guys are a very close unit and have been friends since they were in elementary school. Absolutely great human beings who are unbelievably kind to their fans, and we're kind back. It's a great group to be involved with.

"It's probably like a power ballad or something" Well yes, but also no... 😂 The band's very eclectic and multi-faceted. You'll find all sorts of songs in their discography, and this is most definitely the weirdest. My favorite song is M.I.A., and I think you're going to really dig that song. It's emotional, shredderific, meaningful, and very catchy. A proper power ballad is Seize the Day, and I recommend the music video highly. It's got the band in it and a great Guns N' Roses-styled storyline. This band is phenomenal, and I think they have potential to become a favorite for you quickly.
