- HAPPY HALLOWEEN! In this special Halloween Edition of BREAKDOWN, Matt, Brian, Zacky & Johnny take a deep dive into the writing and recording process with The Rev on, "A Little Piece of Heaven"
Directed & Edited by Rafa Alcantara
Produced by Alex Reese

Hearing Jimmy singing all the song is the best thing I’ve ever heard.
I want an album of all of Jimmy’s demos released, completely unedited!
@@DetectiveHouse agreed
Truee
By the way, for all of those who are fans of Jimmy’s singing, there is a demo of Buried Alive on UA-cam, entirely sung by Jimmy.
Who is Jimmy?
This song is definitely Avenged’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Edit: Shadows also mentions this at the end of this video. I promise I thought of that before I heard him say that. And thanks for all the likes.
Definitely. And The Stage (album, not song) is Avenged Sevenfold's "Images and Words." They've gone from rising rapidly to the top to being right up there with the greatest legends of music.
Wouldn't ever say it in public, but I think it's waaaay more cohesive in terms of composition synergy. The changes in this song actually make sense
@@electricnick260 I think The Stage is more like their The Dark Side Of The Moon or maybe The Wall, cause you know, it's a concept album. But idk, feel free to CMIIW
You mean, Bohemain Rhapsody is Queens "a little piece of heaven"... right?? xD
Very well put. RIP Rev.

For Jimmy's sake, release the demo with his voice ❤️❤️❤️
I was immediately wondering how I’d never heard this before. Is it just a hidden recording? I want to know!

Fuck yeah, release the demo with Jimmy’s vocals
Doesn’t Jimmy have vocals in the song already?

holy fuck, the ppl who mastered/mixed this song r absolute heroes... I can barely wrap my head around like 5 instrument tracks, imagine with all this shit going on... massive props. It sounds so natural that it's unnatural
Mastering is still only one stereo track and it was done by Andy Wallace.
That's why Andy Wallace is a legend. He mixed a lot of absolute classic albums in the 80's 90's and 2000's. He mixed this record and Brian Gardner did the mastering.
@@DankoHidalgomastering was Brian Gardner. Andy Wallace mixed the album.

it'd be so cool to hear how he came up with this
@@Viktor-us2ro they have a behind-the-scenes dvd for their self titled album where they go through each song. It goes over the process a little bit, how he went to Big Bear by himself and came up with some of the melody on piano and whatnot, and how most of the band hated it at first but it kept evolving during the process and turned into what we know it as now. But it would be amazing to hear him talk about it after all these years.

My first year of high school was a bit difficult in a way, my grades dropped really badly in Italian (my mother tongue) and I really cared for the subject but couldn't seem to write decent essays anymore. I felt so down and demotivated. Then for the last test of the school year, our teacher gave us the option to write a short story so I could write whatever I wanted. for multiple different genres i never would have listened to or would have understood without going through them first in the similar field. One of the most consistent bands out there. Everything holds up through time and ages like fine wine. Jimmy was the reason I started playing music/drums still miss him and the fact he’s gone but what art and talent he left behind for us. God bless you Jimmy.
honestly same here. The rev was my favorite drummer. I kinda idloized him when i first started playing drums in highschool
Same bro, he's the reason ( along with other reading ) that started playing drums a lot more, writing songs a lot more, singing a lot more, and getting into a lot of different bands, I mean A LOT of different bands, he was an influence to a lot of people, he always made fun of a bad situation, he always smiled, he was a damn serious drummer when it came to it, and he can write hell of a song and sing too, he's missed in all the deathbat family, nation, and army, R.I.P. This was almost as emotionally charged as the tribute video they made right after his passing... I LOVED hearing the demo with his singing, thank you for sharing that... this whole video is amazing and a great testament to how special of a musician Jimmy was. Also I’m glad they solo’d his background scream in that last chorus, always loved his background vocals on that whole part. Just wow this was a blessing and so is this band.
His background vocals on the last verse make the song for me
The horns, the strings, the backing vocals.. it's a masterpiece.
