She didn't actually say no in the beginning. He panics and thinks she'll say no, but he imagines all of that. "So before the possibility came true, I took all possibility from you"
Yeah, and he said "their love had been so strong..." So she WAS in love with him. So after she killed him and he resolved to make it up to her, she forgives him and they stay together. That's the music video.
Imo, the song could be interpreted as a selfish lover coming to his senses and making it up to his lover after he had practically killed the relationship, and they work it out.
@@TheKyfe depends how you look at it, another interpretation could be this is to show how toxic couples break up and get back together, a little more dead each time
@@theredpillneo2296 no this song is completely literal. Thats just the rev man. Dudes style was wacky but he was one helluva drummer.
@@texasred264 yeah I was going to say he literally says "must have stabbed her 50 f***ing times, I can't believe it"🤣🤣🤣🤣I can't take that any other way lmaoo
@@sebastianmichael604 exactly.
I know people pick this song and video for the shock factor and the disgusted faces by reactors are always pretty funny, but I don't actually think it's a good song for starting with Avenged Sevenfold (even though it's a fan favorite, but we probably all have a weird sense of humour)
I would recommend "Buried Alive", it's pretty epic and has a pretty cool lyric video. "Afterlife" and "Nightmare" are also amazing songs.
For something newer, you should try "The Stage".
They were practically my start to the whole metal genre, nearly 15 years ago, and I hope you will give them another listen!
@Velokid93 There are really a lot of great songs to choose from!
@Velokid93 yeah I was going to say "Almost Easy" and "Heretic" myself. Love those 2 tracks from A7F.
I sorta felt bad for them, seeing what song they'd gotten. There are a couple songs that get tossed around for the shock it causes, and that's not to say they're not good songs, but more that someone familiar with the material can see what the uninitiated are in for. I would suggest "Almost easy" or "Gunslinger" as well.
Yeah, this should be at least the 5th song to react to
agreed, unholy confessions, maybe a lesser known song like Tension or girl i know
The Rev (Jimmy Sullivan) co-wrote this as an homage to his musical hero - Danny Elfman. You could imagine it easily fitting into an animated film like 'A Nightmare Before Christmas' or 'The Corpse Bride'.
Didnt elfman do the arrangements on the album?
@@stubbynubby6926 Elfman wasn't personally involved, but two members of his former band Oingo Bongo, Marc Mann and Steve Bartek were the co-writers.
@@brandydynamite5877 okie doke, I seemed to remember it in the liner notes, but its been like a decade so I'm probably misremembering.
Shows that its a great homage though if it convinced me!
Steve Bartek does a lot of Elfman’s arrangements after he writes the score for a film.
danny is literally one of my favorite people, how did i not know this
The space heater part always makes me laugh
The faces on both of you are priceless haha. A classic A7X video.
ikr, the song was amazing
Read the lyrics. He was afraid of her rejecting him, before the possibility came true he took all possibility from you
So the band said that it was just a goofy horror themed song they just had fun with and that it almost wasn't going to be part of the album. But art is always up to interpretation, and I always thought that it could also be seen as a couple in a toxic relationship. The guy does something bad which would be represented with ripping her heart out like cheating or something, and her dying is like their love being dead for awhile. (maybe they temporarily break up and haven't seen each other in a while) and they eventually talk things out "I'll make it up to you" "I'll prey to God that you do" "well then I'll grant you one chance" finally ending with them getting back together and being happy.
was a metaphor for a loving relationship, you will want to kill each other at certain times but in the end you will end up together.
Now that's a good explanation
Dude. You hit me right in my marriage life :)
might be. but i think this song was made out of Rev's Nightmare literally.
@@Hollywood6IX as cool as it is, the goal was to show 1. How Toxic relationships are and how each time a couple breaks up and gets back together, they are a little more dead inside. And 2. At the start she never said no, and later hear “their love had been so strong” and “robbed all possibility’s” or somthing like that aka she did love him but he killed her before she could ever say yes or no. I hope I don’t seem like I’m tryna be a know it all I’m just a huge fan of A7X and have been studying their music for years (being a drummer and loving the rev)
Other good Avenged Sevenfold songs to react to are:
Afterlife
Bat Country
Danger Line
I recommend doing lyric versions of Afterlife and Bat Country as the videos of each song cut out 2 mins.
I Wont See You Tonight Pt 1 and 2
Radiant Eclipse
Unholy Confessions
React to the old Avenged Sevenfold : Unholy Confession and compare with the new one!
Yes please 👍🤟🤟✊✊
Agreed. I'm thinking a bit before that, "Darkness Surrounding"
"The art of subconscious illusion"
🔥🤘🔥
That's what I was going to sayyyyyy! Unholy Confessions aka "The Panty Dropper!" This new stuff is barely listenable...hate me if you will people. I know A7X. Warped Tour around 2000 is when I 1st saw them! 😍
@@jenz1138 new stuff? You guys realize this song is 14YO and they have put up 4 records since?
Oh, it's nice to see you guys reacting to my favorite Avenged Sevenfold song!
Personally, I've always thought that the lyrics were pretty straight forward and tied to the video, though I think the video is a great addition and helps a lot with understanding certain parts of the story. But I do think they are telling the same story, with the slight difference that the lyrics may be a bit more subtle (though there's nothing subtle about it).
You raise a good point when you wonder why did they end up getting married in the end. We are supposed to understand that they talk in hell and the guy apologizes and swears he will make it up to her, but, you know, how do you compensate someone for killing them? (and for pretty much raping their corpse). They do say that "if it's not enough" they will "try again and again", because they do have all of eternity to make things right. But it's still a bit weird and forced. In any case, both of them would have to be very... troubled people to do what they did, so their psychology and motivations are definitely interesting. In the end this is just a dark and twisted song, and while most of Avenged Sevenfold's work is way more "normal", as a fan of the macabre, I just can't help but love it so much.
Keep up the good work!
haha you guys looked so serious watching this...it was awesome!
You should listen to classic Avenged. Afterlife,Almost Easy,Unholy Confessions and Gunslinger are my recommendations 🤘 saw them live in 2008 before their drummer "The Rev" sadly passed 😭 easily one of my favourite gigs
RIP jimmy. me and the wifey got matching foREVer tattoos after he passed
A Little Piece of Heaven is on the same album as 3 of the 4 songs you mentioned. So how is ALPoH not classic but Afterlife, Almost Easy and Gunslinger are ?
Smokey's face is priceless. Needless to say this reaction is by far my favorite! Be safe my dudes.
Thought the same thing 😂
I suggest reacting to the "So Far Away" music video. The song and video are a tribute to their drummer who passed away. Yall would dig it!!
This is probably my favorite video by you guys, This is all I wanted of a reaction of this video, I’ve seen many reactions to this song and this is my all time fav, this is why you guys are my favorite reactors, you could see the music past the actual video, and appreciate the art of the video besides the obviously creepy topic, btw this song was written by the drummer of A7X and he was a...dark guy lol but a musical genius so it was supposed to be dark but not all their music is like this, you could react to other songs by them if you like, you guys def my favorite man much love from Chile
every reactors who start their first reaction with this a7x's song was looking for the guitar solo,
but, they already choose the wrong song to start..
but, the drums's sound makes it clear and it proves that they are Rock
You two definitely need to react to A Little Piece of Heaven live in the LBC to fully appreciate this song.
I love how you guys react physically in such different ways. You are great visually and your opinions are well thought out and relatable. ❤️ from Victoria, Australia!
Lovely reaction you two!! Since you’ve heard the song & seen the video, I think you’d love their live performance in the LBC doing this song! It’s lit 😍🔥
Have a great day you two! 🤩
A7X did a breakdown recently on their channel about the creation of this song and video. It is a favorite of mine, as well as "Hail To The King". Brian/Synyster Gates is an incredible guitarist. I'm going to totally do the "I knew him from school" thing with him LOL because I actually did. His older brother too, who was an incredible drummer. This song though. It's a work of genius by The Rev, may he rest in peace. This song was the first song this band ever produced and they just enjoyed the hell out of it. It just fun to me to watch/hear. Probably because I'm crazy.😎👍
I love your reactions! Nicely done!
I love your reaction to this! I like that you really listen to the lyrics and music while watching this video. Not every you tube reactor manages to do this 👍🏼 This song is phenomenal.
Seeing this live a couple years ago was the highlight of my concert experiences! Cause the played bat country, a little piece, and finished with unholy confessions!!! It was so out of left field
Great review. Best I have heard.
I remember when this song came out! I couldn’t stop playing it driving! 😊💜💚
Keep it up love watching you guys. Love watching how the music affects you especially TOOL
What a great reaction. love It Guys. New Sub
This song is A7Xs biggest outlier when it comes to their artwork as a whole. They are heavier usually and prog. Check out these songs to start
The Stage
Afterlife
Nightmare
Almost Easy
Critical Acclaim
Unholy Confessions
Bat Country
Beast and the Harlot
I've never seen any reactors take this so well tbh. Congrats
Him asking for forgiveness in hell actually made her fall in love with him and she then agreed to marry him...
I'm a metalhead. I've been a metalhead for over a decade. I love A7x one of my favorite bands out of many. 🤘🏽🤘🏽 great reaction.
Man y’all’s reaction to this video has to be my favorite. 😂 I absolutely love this song, but y’all def need to check their other stuff out. This does not define them lol Check out Bat Country, Afterlife, Unholy Confessions, Sidewinder...so many. Good job guys.
I'm glad you didn't just instantly think it was weird and appreciated the music regardless of what message you got from it
Just found your page and I’m glad you thought it was dope. It’s for sure one of my favorite songs by them. The beauty vs the horrible is incredible. React to “ The Stage “ it’s another long but incredible song. Not nearly as dark but a great story telling song
My first Avenged Sevenfold's song was Blinded in Chains. It was on NFS:Most Wanted game playlist. When that song played, I was like "Hmm.. cool song" and started my research about the band, then became a fan for years until the Nightmare album. Powerful band, great musicians, great music. R.I.P The REV.
Unholy confession! old A7X!
Just a quick side note the world lost an amazing talent when they lost Jimmy the Rev
This is the hardest song for new fans to get into but also probably theyre best story told song which is why we all love this song and watching reactors
Buried alive....
One of my favorite songs
That song was heavily influenced by Danny Elfman & Tim Burton and was written by their drummer, The Rev who sadly passed away. I always love watching reactions to this song. 👊
Haven't watched the reaction yet, I just know you are in for one HELL of a ride
This was originally supposed to be a Halloween ep but the producers liked so much it made this album
You guys would absolutely LOVE The Stage by avenged sevenfold! The lyrics, the video the parallels to our real world its all great
I love this song, good choice
SOOOO HAPPY you guys liked the song some people get turned off by the shock factor of the video but song is great
I like how they both fall in love in the end after all 😂
Avenged Sevenfold got me when City of Evil dropped. I in turn bought the previous albums. Seize the Day is also an Epic melodic banger.
You heard a little bit of "Ska" in there! Little known fact. The Rev used to drum for the ska band "Suburban Legends"!
Falling in reverse straight to hell or goodbye graceful! Love the channel guys!
Bring back memories from childhood... Thanks for brought this up. :)
Since you hear this, better watch the live at LBC version (if Im not mistaken) for more romantic vibes
Edit : too bad it has low viewer. Maybe those who hear A7X now at productive age that spend time on work etc. However again, thanks
I really think this song is, to me at least, about how love can drive you so crazy sometimes. Like, despite the fact that you obviously care about them when you feel angry or betrayed with them it can induce these feelings of rage and insanity. Love is very much an irrational thing, and this song very darkly, albeit humorously, shows that while you can feel dark things sometimes if you’re both willing to put those feelings of anger and rage to the side and work together you can get to a place where things work out and you can reconcile and make it kind of happily ever after, although you’ll always have the scars and negative moments that shaped your relationship just as much as the good times. Bottom line is it takes work to deal with your feelings in a healthy way and move past the low points in life in general and specifically and especially when it comes to relationships. Making dark or cathartic music or art is just one way people cope with unhealthy feelings of anger and heartbreak and sadness.
"You had my heart" wait what that aint a metaphor 🤣
Been waiting for you guys to check out Avenged Sevenfold. Was not expecting this to be your first song. Hope it doesn't turn you away from them. They have so many great songs.
Totally new to your channel and I love it liked and subscribed! I have you thought about doing a reaction to Tech 9 I'm a Playa
The best is Avenged Sevenfold - Buried Alive, or Nightmare. :)
you guys have my like just because of the comment at the intro of the video
Aha! I knew you had to have reacted to this! Found it!
Yall talking about a little piece of heaven in the beginning had me laughing with hindsight.
Love this song but I don’t think it really reflects A7 😂 (I was the same that you when I saw it the first time)
For me this is a piece (no pun intended) of art. Nothing else.
It is not about someones life, it is not trying to share politics or beliefs... It is a story, like a movie or a book.
The song itself, the composition, the lyrics, the arrangements! If you hear this song without the video it feels like a love story even knowing that they “eat it” and “heater for your tights” is right there 😂
Now you move to the video and jezzz the quality, the skeletons moving almost at synchrony with the instruments... I freaking love the one popping out to say “Bye, Bye”
And the use of orchestra... just awesome 😎
Anyhow great reaction, I love the struggle of enjoyment of the musicality and the shock of the video that we could see in your face. Thanks 😊
I like y'all, i love that you guys really try to analyze what is happening in both the lyrics and video and what i respect is that that's an artists approach. I am a musician and pride myself on lyrics, and you guys have both called yourself lyricists as well. I think we view the world differently, most music listeners, enjoy the content of a song, while us lyricists look for the metaphors and try to dissect them. However, this song isn't one of them lol this exists because they wanted to make some art. you really have to listen to more of avenged sevenfold. if yall are really lyricists, you will appreciate the metaphors and symbolism in their music across the board. You will love Shepherd of Fire by avenged sevenfold
nightmare and so far away are both incredible songs by them, so far away is a different sound for them
They made this song for a halloween special album, that didnt end up happening so they just released it on a normal album, thats why it has horror themes
I always love watching reactions to this video!!! Brainchild of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan!
I walked into my wedding reception to Unholy Confessions
That's actually awesome lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Ic is a twisted story that the late drummer RIP Jimmi.the Rev.
That they play out as a short musical 😂😂
Love it a lot.
Thanks for the content and reactions you 2.
Appreciate you guys
🤘😈🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I always saw this as being a metaphor for relationships 1st was the proposal that was denied and then she was dead to him and he was dead to her 2nd was they got back together and rebuilt the relationship which ended up with them getting married and that was their piece of heaven. The video was pretty much that story with dark humor
Funny story. When i was in highschool, one of my girlfriends at the time had broken up with me, and she sat next to me in one our classes. Well during that class on the day after she had broken up with me, i had my head down on the table sleeping with my headphones in, and my ipod was sitting on my lap. Well during that class she had gotten up and walked out, and avoided me for the rest of the day. I had thought it was because she felt awkward around me, but later one of her friends had told me that she was actually scared because at one point during that class she had looked down at my ipod to see what i was listening to, and it had just happened to be this song. It was a pretty funny coincidence.
Nightmare is one of my favorites from A7X. Also Hail to the King is really good
They had each other's hearts from the start
An amazing one off by a7x lol You guys would love their track “The Stage”. Visually and lyrically a good piece to react to.
If you haven’t reacted to buried alive, react to that, also shepherd of fire
Good job with dropkicke Murphy's. There is a 700 year old poem that lot of artists have attempted.
The sons of connaught rocky road to Dublin
The stage!
Jajajaja the best reactiont I've ever seen 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you guys are great
Lyrics "I was weak with fear that
Something would go wrong,
Before the possibilities came true,
I took all possibility from you" he took her life bc the possibility of her saying no.
The beginning they thought a little piece of heaven was a slice of warm apple pie (paraphrasing). Lolololol best reaction ever
If you head in over to Avenged Sevenfold’s channel they have a breakdown video of the song explaining how it came to be it’s very interesting plus all their songs are fire 🔥 in my eyes digging your reaction as not a lot of people appreciate this song 👌🏼👍🏻
react to beast and the harlot, thats one of their most popular songs. But some of my personal favorites are:
Sidewinder, for the latin break at the end
Blinded in Chains, for one of the coolest bass drum fills in metal history
The Wicked end for great lyrics and vocals
all of these songs are off of their City Of evil Album track 7,3,8 respectively.
Unbound is a very underrated but excellent song by Avenged Sevenfold! Also with classical music complementing the song!
5:55 was a great reaction to that scene but from 6:12 on Smoke's face had me dead af!!!!!!! Great vid my guys! 100%
React to their song Afterlife. Best guitar solo. Also their song So Far Away (dedicated to their drummers passing) sounds super different for them.
The video is almost a frame-by-frame translation of the song. The lyrics match what’s on the screen exactly.
They are like a southern metal type of thing. Mostly lamenting on the times on the battelfield two of the members were in the marines
Avenged Sevenfold was my favorite band until I found Tool! This band is amazing!
tool - eulogy still gives me chills 25 plus years later. it got me thru my best friends passing in 2002
I'm a big fans of Avenged Sevenfold
Thanks to react of them,
Sad to remember the best drummer in world passed away at 2009 ago, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan ( X Avenged Sevenfold drummer) RIP The Rev, we'll love you FoREVer
This song "a little piece of heaven"
Is was a brilian song, and The Rev who was a create the song
I like to see you reaction again of Avenged Sevenfold, i"ll recommend "Bat Country" or "Unholly confession"
You can choose, thats was amazing song, thanks Smoky 😊👍👍👍
What about one of their new songs on The Stage album, I think they're very thought provoking.
You guys should check out And plague flowers the kaleidoscope by Ne Obliviscaris
Love the reactions, plz do Hail to the King by this group.
I just saw this video. So to answer your question on why she would marry him, it says so right at the beginning of the song.
“I was weak with fear that something would go wrong/Before the possibilities came true/I took all possibility from you…” to me this seems like the dinner was in his dreams, and he wanted to ask for marriage but didn’t want the possibility of rejection, so he took her. But in the end she would have said yes, (as seen later in video).
Also, I saw Avenged Sevenfold (A7X)live, and they did this song as an encore. Their introduction to this song was:
A7X “Do you guys want to hear a song about love?”
Crowd “YES”
A7X “How about murder and necrophilia?”
Crowd “HELL YES!”
A7X “WTF do they put in the water out here in San Bernardino! Ya’ll some sick fucks! But here is A Little Piece of Heaven!”
Reaction to Save Me would be interesting... One of the last songs written by The Rev... And of the last album to have that Rev sound
You guys should probably do atleast one A7X song that sounds more like their regular style, for example "god hates us" live Rock am Ring 2011, "Critical Acclaim" live at LBC.
If I remember correct this is like a halloween song they made, they sometimes make this kind of songs because the music they got inspired by, growing up, made halloween songs.
For those needing a little backstory, they were working on a Horror/Halloween concept but scrapped it, this song was written by their drummer who was dying of cancer and figured "why not" and went all in on it.
When you guys didn't know what was coming at the start 🤣
I knew A7X before this and was a teen with a sick sense of humour already 😅
A genious way to write a Love song. With Karma. No Love without it. 😊Make no mistake, this is a story about Love. If you spell the word Love backwards you get Evol. ✌🏼 It is such a delicate almost invisible balance between the feeling of Love and Hate. I often think those feelings are twin flames. In my mind it is anyway. Oh how i Love this one ❤ The build up is crazy good. Together in life , together in death. I like how Smokey always focus on the lyrics.
You should really watch the "making" of this song/video....it's pretty hilarious watching these guys just be themselves, having so much fun together....RIP to the Rev...❤❤❤❤ A7X
Oh no! You didn't make this, of all Avenged Sevenfold songs, first?? Ooh... Now I am exited!
I think you two did a great job. You can view the prosess of this song here at youtube. ua-cam.com/video/fxpNO-wx3L8/v-deo.html
The video is about a messed up guy and a messed up girl... Who together, are messed up together. At a base level love conqueres all, no matter what people do to each other sometimes love sees a couple through it 🙂
This song would make for a great movie. Perfect for a Tarantino or Rob Zombie project.
