Now that's proper food. I am 71. My mum said to me when I was a child, when you want eat's use roadside cafes. The best one's are always busy and lorry drivers use them. Always good food and good prices. Far far better than some of that frozen crap you get.

The tipp with the truck drivers is great - no cook and no server wants to have trouble with 20 angry truckers
That looks wonderful. I live 250 miles away but am seriously considering driving there just for a breakfast roll then driving 250 miles home again.

I bought a McDonald's breakfast bun thing for the first ever time, about 18 Months ago. I couldn't believe how tiny it was.... I won't be going back anytime soon...
Well its 637 Km away and 8 hours and 5 minutes drive + ferry from the west of Ireland. I am going to try copying it this evening on a disposable BBQ. 🤣
I'm in Ulster and I'm booking the Stena ticket now.
For me roadside snack vans are sometimes where you find some absolutely delicious food.. and this one looks exception. £4.50 for a roll with high quality bacon and sausage in it is an absolute bargain... what a find.

Good to see you eating Proper Grub again Gaz. Those Roadside Vans are about the only thing I miss after over 40 years lorry driving. £ 4.50 for that!! If that van was close to my place, I'd be a regular customer that's for sure. Cheers.

I'm in hospital at the moment, hopefully discharged tomorrow, you wouldn't believe how hungry I feel right now watching this. I used to have grub like this with my first job from a small food shop right next to the industrial estate I worked at, I know exactly how good these are, McDonald's can try as hard as they want, they will never beat the locals, thank you so much Gareth for bringing a smile to my face, take care pal. 😊
Hospital food is starvation meals, even the large portions you lose weight on. I was in hospital in 2018/19 for 6 weeks and my weight dropped from 15 stone to 10 and a half stone in the 6 weeks and I was eating everything they gave me.

I used to work in construction on homes before I got ill and my absolute favourite food was always from food vans on the side of the road or motorway. Since being unable to work I haven't had food van food but damn this takes me back. Best looking breakfast I've seen in a long time.

Another good one is the snack cabin on the car park in the centre of Milnthorpe. Sue's breakfast buns are quite famous locally. I had to eat mine over 2 days, it was so large. Bacon, egg, sausage, black pudding, tomatoes, the lot..... The buns she uses are the size of the one you had in this video...... You can have a smaller, scaled down version for wusses, but the full on job is the one 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Further to my post above, the Cornish pasties from the little cafe on the square in Milnthorpe, are some of the best I've ever had....sit in or take-away.
Great stuff. Sell good hot food and make money. Lovely. They deserve all that they earn.

Iv got a porkys van near me, and iv been going there 27 years, last went on Tuesday this week and been going since I was 11 years old. Always good food and well priced, I would always recommend over McDonalds or such.
I'm so jealous right now. :)
We use a drive in layby van when we go to Whitby. Its always busy & has a big carpark so cars /vans & lorries use it -- devine food ❤❤❤❤

Probably the best barm i have ever had was from a van almost 20 years ago now near where i use to work. Proper big bin lid filled with bacon, mushrooms, eggs etc.

Hi Gareth another good video. I always try to use these places when I am out and about because they always give value for money and are often in places where it's the only place to get a bite to eat and a cuppa. For me it's use them or lose them. That sandwich looked amazing and I liked your reference to McDonald's. As I mentioned in another comment recently MaccyD's has got quite expensive lately for what it is and for "fillability" you can't beat the local sandwich shop or lorry stop.
