I am a Lidl fan as it has a good bakery and teh shop is a reasonable size so takes shorter time to find all the items I want. I then look down the middle aisles and buy all sorts of tools and garden bits. Yes , good value for a pie. Glad you liked it.
Silicon sheet rolls from Amazon. They last for a long time, and protect your backing trays and airfryers, micorowaves etc. LIDL Frikadellens. Ready cooked sausage meat and nicer and cleaner than bangers - microwave in 1minute. Fried brekkie, or with chips and beans, or with mash and onion gravy, green peas or cabbage and beans
I don’t work for Lidl but I am mostly impressed with their food and I have been shopping there over twenty years. They don’t go in for fakes or copies but there stuff is usually quality.
Well its 1264 calories per pie. Each lb of fat equates to 3500 calories. Assuming a daily calorie expenditure for a sedentery lazy man at about 2200cal/day (2000 for woman) You would have to consume 14,000 calories over your maintenance to gain 4lbs of fat. So for an average sized man thats about 16,200 cal in 1 sitting or 12.8 of these pies.
Bought some space raiders onions ring from Iceland, cooked them up yesterday in the air fryer and they taste absolutely mad 😂 Would love to see you review them!
Good review Gaz, I want one! Also I love that you have a dining room. Our dining area is at one end of the main living room which is nowhere near as good.
Sorry for saying it again Gareth in them air fryers come ovens you don’t take any notice of the temp all ways take 20 degrees of IE 180 and take 5 minutes of the time then probe it if you wish good vid mate
When you mentioned the price Gareth, I thought yep, its Lidl on price I don't think, and sure enough when you opened it up, as usual it was mostly pastry. Seems to have tasted good so I suppose it might be worth a try. Thanks for a great review though 😊👍
Tell you what that pie looks proper banging mate, will deffo be having to try this one, don't usually go to lidl but will for this pie, hope your heartburn goes quickly matey 😄😆,keep well and safe as always.
Lidl beef pies are really good and great value. It’s worth going for the ones in the chiller than the freezer. Will definitely check out the beef dripping one. Thanks again for the heads up on what to buy
Thanks for sharing this.. Lidl is my closest shop.. that definitely would look great sitting on top of a portion of chips so that once chopped open the gravy would make the chips taste beautiful 👍👍 thank you 👍👍
Good review Gaz.MandS used to do a Tin of Chunky Steak in gravy that was so good for making pies with. They still do it but the tins are half the size they were now and some reviews say it's nowhere near as good as it used to be.
Anything with Beef Dripping has to be good. The more the better. Never buy Chips if they havent got Beef Dripping in them these days. They are moist and not as dry as sawdust.
Seen this the other day in Lidl picked it up and put it back wasn’t sure???? But after seeing this will be buying one! Thanks for the review! Love a Pie! Cheers!!
Sat at the table you looked like Desperate Dan 🤣 I had their chicken and mushroom version a couple of months back… very nice they were, the steak looks better…
A great looking pie for £2.69. It would do me two meals once I add some mash and some veggies. Beef dripping will really bring out the flavour of the meat. You had my mouth watering with this one m8 🤤🤤😋 And best of all ? I have a Lidl’s within a few minutes walk from home. Up until recently I did do quite a bit of shopping at the Co-Op local. Now I’m beginning to get more active I will be doing my shopping in Lidl. Co-Op prices have become ridiculous. On one visit to Lidl per week to stock up with the usual items for me, dog and cat food, treats for them etc ? I reckon I saved about £50. I can’t believe how prices compare. I’ve always done my main shopping in either Lidl or Aldi. I know people who wouldn’t shop in either store as they think cheap prices gets you cheap products but I disagree. Plus I love the weekly promotions based on various countries, like Greek foods, Polish foods, French and Italian foods. Anyway I’m waffling on again. Great review Gareth keep them coming.
@@BaldFoodieGuy Damn!!!! Went to Lidl tonight and they had sold out of these pies. Promised they will be back in soon. I would love to see the return of steak and kidney pies though. They are truly scrumptious. But I did manage to get a liver and onion ready meal, so all’s well. 👍🏻👍🏻
Would have liked to have seen maybe a touch more beef and no water in the bacon but that aside it looks a very decent pie. Full of saturates but that is pies whatever pie it is. Seems half way, not enough for two and a plateful for one but the gravy looked pretty good, hats off to Lidl mind for the effort.
£2.69 ... obviously quality pie incoming! LOL watching.... eek- the dreaded palm oil and rapeseed oil in there again. 26% beef. wow... pushing the envelope there (not).... as a side line, I love these warnings: Today I bought some peanut butter, and the allergens included "may contain traces of nuts". Yep, that's nuts! Mostly pastry... but you seem to be enjoying so I can't knock it.Except for the low fill as ever with these pies.
Pies in Aldi Iceland and Lidl all seem equally scrumptious, & Aldi’s triple chips are unbeatable. Having said that my local Aldi, last one before Lands End, appears to stopped stocking pies. As for Tesco’s pies, just don’t buy them, check the feedback.
I can see another day trip to Lidl coming soon 😂👍, they do lots of different pies, both large single and smaller double pie boxes. Didn't know about this pie so I'll pop in my local Lidl and see if they have any. Thanks for the review, great as always
Gaz just a little tip for you as you mentioned heartburn I'm the same with pastry please try the Home Bargains heartburn syrup it's Aniseed flavour and half the price of the Gaviscon and tastes great , nice pie review by the way
Really enjoyed watching, almost as much as you enjoyed savouring the pie!! I will buy one of these, Lidl is my favourite go to store. Take care, from one baldie to another.
A friend's husband is the Director of a food production company that makes ready meals for various supermarkets. His exact comment was .... "None of the production staff shop at Aldi, Lidl, Iceland etc which should tell you everything about the contents". I do know they use a lot of fillers and chemical additives. I love to cook so usually batch freeze homemade otherwise, the only ready pies we eat are from Cook.
If they do a beef-only version I'd certainly go for it! I love bacon and beef, but I'm always a bit disappointed when they're combined in a pie or a burger. They taste fabulous enough on their own.
4:30 just a pointer but at 2:24 it said to place foil tray (ie, the pie in its foil tray) on baking sheet/tray it did not say anything about kitchen foil (or in your case baking paper)
I like the Chicken and Gravy pie from Lidl, a small pie enough for me price £1.45 with chips and peas, a great meal. Sometimes they are reduced to 60p if they only have one day left on the use by date.
I love lidls food especially the different cuisines they show case each week such as Spanish, Greek, Italian, Thia etc. You could spend a little time trying out the different cuisines on your channel. I stopped shopping at Asda because of the hike in food prices, and I now get to taste world foods into the bargain. I'm saving money each week and each month qualify for 10 per cent of my shop, as they say every little helps
I've got that same Breville cooker, use it for everything, hardly ever use my main oven. Fun fact, when 'Air Fryer' became a thing, Breville took this cooker, removed the 'Cookies' selection and replaced it with 'Air Fryer'. And charged and extra hundy for it.

Some potatoes and vegetables with gravy and you have a huge dinner
It’s a great pie and a load of beef dripping chips with it would be fantastic.
We used to fight over the beef dripping leftover from Sunday joint to spread on toast as kids ..yummmm
Showing your age there jill !!
When I was kid, you could get dripping from the butcher.
As you say on toast or just spread on plain bread with a little salt, yummy.
The picture on the box always looks best!
Haha just tasted of cardboard though, was a deceptive picture
Of course.
