My brother was gay and died of AIDS before gay marriage was legalized. My father would have never given a speech like that but I would have. I loved my brother, my first born is named after him, and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. What a great speech and what a lucky man this man is to have a father that understands.
@@mnagatalevu Do you not sin The bible said one small or big sin is sinful Reminds me of what Jesus said let the first man who has not sin cast the first stone And guess what happened there wasn’t a person to throw the first sin I am not saying it is not a sin but a sin is a sin So if you have not have sin then you can judge If you have sinned then you can’t judge

I'm not gay - not my thing, but the way this gentleman expressed his love for his son and the partner he had chosen was exquisite. Most excellent speech for any wedding.
Never cried at a wedding before today... I know very little about the gay community or gay marriage, but hope if my daughter grows up and takes that path, that I handle it half as well as his father has. My hat is off to you sir. That is a true and loving father and a man to look up to.
If your daughter is gay, I'm sure you will love her no less than if she was straight. But it is not a "path to choose" it is a path that is already chosen (by God) from birth. A person doesn't choose to be gay any more than a person chooses the colour of their hair when born. It is just the way they are. It is how God made them. The choice is for the family and friends of the gay person as to whether they accept the gay person first as a human being and then as the way they were born - straight , gay, disabled, blind or sighted, blonde-haired, red-haired, big ears, large nose, small nose, tall or short, blue eyes or black eyes. And i think you are the kind of person who accepts a person as God made them, not as some other people in our society say we must behave and react to someone who is different to yourself. :-)
Thanks, @NewZMan - I was really concerned about the "if she takes that path" language as well. You gave a great response! So, Dirty Blond, now you can say that you know a little more about the gay community than you did beforehand! Cheers!
@@HalfShelli I have to just say that I agree with everything said other than that people are made by god! The Bible says 2 men can't lay together. And to woman can't lay with woman. You can go to hell .that will be bad .
This man cannot be a politician.
He clearly has a good soul & a functioning moral compass.
@@vangieeaddy1332 -- Sorry dude, but you are misquoting the Bible again. And I'm so sure you don't wear garment made of 2 fabrics, avoid pork, and condemn football since it involves touching the skin of an "unclean animal." You do, right?

What a wise man and loving father. I wish I had a father like him so loving, accepting, embracing, and supportive. His speech made me laugh and cry at the same time.
Question only? Would he be a loving father, if he loved his child into the pit of hell,?
Before you all get crazy mad, think about it first, then answer the question .
I can & do love all my children, but I wouldn't be a very loving father or parent to love them right into Hell.🙏🙏🙏

@@davidkarr5119 only a question for you sir: How do you know the religion you were taught is correct? How do you know The bible you follow was interpreted correctly? How do you know there is a hell? Do you truly believe that the one who created us judges homosexuals the same way he judges murderers? And if so does that make him a good creator? Do you believe that we are made in God’s image? Do you believe sexuality is a choice? If so if the Bible said heterosexuality was a sin could you make yourself be attracted to the same sex partner? I would like to hear your thoughts on these questions.
Reading the Bible gives me a head ache.
@@davidkarr5119 If someone told you there was a Hell and that your homosexual child was going to spend eternity there, and you believe that...then no, you could not be a loving or supportive parent.

WHAT AN AMAZING FATHER! A MAN WHO LOVES AND SUPPORTS HIS FAMILY IS PURE JOY.
What a wonderful father . He is elderly and way ahead of many others . I’m sure his son is so proud of him
If only the world could see through this wonderful dad's eyes, how great a view it would be .. prejudice free and acceptance of people for who they are.
What a wonderful father. This brought tears to my eyes. the acceptance and his fantastic sense of humour.
Being quarantined these last months I’ve seen a lot of UA-cam and nothing made me feel so happy with tears to see this. Happy tears. Being a gay male pushing 50 very soon my dad is still alive also and just love him for being apart of me and my husband’s life. He calls us, my sons. He’s a retired Marine Corp man who is a Roman Catholic and is part of the Knights of Columbus and just loves on us like a regular hetero couple. He even just comes and visits from out of state and stays with us just to give my mom space. They’ve been married 52 years now and going strong. So congratulations on your marriage and thank you for sharing such a beautiful moment. I wish you many blessed years of marriage and enjoy every moment with those beautiful folks of yours. From Texas with love.
Epic speech. Not only was he witty & funny but the unconditional love & support is so beautiful & amazing!! ❤👬🏼

That has to have been the most beautiful most loving wedding speech I’ve ever heard. The father was amazing so much love to give I I’ve learned a lot from him. And he’s absolutely adorable to look at and listen to Chris is a lucky man to have a father like him.
To Chris and Wes, it’s 4 years later so wherever you both are, I hope you are together, strong, and happy. Chris, your dad is a remarkable, loving man and thank you for sharing this most special day with the UA-cam public. Blessings to you both. ❤️

Wow- it's all I can say. Wow. I like to think that my Mom and Dad would've handled my Marriage if we had ever done so. Instead they invited my guy into our family and his did the exact same with me. May God bless them and their families as richly as He blessed ours...Thank you for sharing that with us.

Not scriptural. It's sinful.

Our daughters and sons and all people are made BY THEIR PARENTS - if you want to imagine they are made otherwise - eg by a god - then fine. But that is simply a/your belief - and it is NOT a fact. Which is why I object to people stating it as if it is a fact. I respect that you have your religion and your beliefs. But that is what they are - they are NOT facts.
It isn't something to take like a pill, it is that gender is created before birth. He sounds like a wonderful father. Acceptance is beautiful, from a 72 year old straight lady.
