@ellamarie9709 They will rely on the paternal grand ma.
There is a bias that "a dad needs help" so people will rescue them, that's why dad's can make the minimum effort like going to a school reunion and they are praised but moms face a different social reality, people is hard and mean to them, it is an obligation for them to know everything, to be involved, to show up, so if they miss one meeting at school they are judge.
My opinion is: moms are not almighty, they are socially conditioned to do and take care of everything while dads don't have little to no pressure and that's why they can have the privilege to be unaware.

What is worse is that these dads don't think about how much this secretly hurts their kids or the long term damage it will do to their psyche. Even after realizing they dont know basic info they won't go work on it. The mothers would work diligently to correct themselves. These dads will go on acting the same way. Being a dad is not just about providing but it’s also about being present in your children’s lives. yeah my dad was just like that. Took my mom until the youngest child was 19 to finally divorce him. I'm happy for her, she's doing a lot of traveling. As for my dad, I have no idea what he's up to. But he sends a text a couple weeks before my birthday to say happy birthday every year, so there's that.
