I always use Octane to render these and not everyone has access to the plugin, so I dont always go through the process (as it's often the same steps each time). If you want to see exactly how I've done the lighting and texturing, all the final render ready project files (which include all the lighting, materials and render settings) can be downloaded from our Patreon page here: www.patreon.com/cgshortcuts we also hope to do more indepth courses and tutorials about lighting and rendering soon;) Thanks for watching!
I did mention this before a couple of times, yet the problem still remains haha Dave, it would really help a lot if you'd show how to texture your tutorials using regular C4d shaders, at least people would grasp the idea behind. For instance, i can see you've got two diff shaders happening here, but how did you manage to give the mesh two diff colours remains a secret ;)

@@CGShortcuts Hey Dave, totally makes sense. I also wish I could use Octane or Redshift but unfortunately some of us have been greatly bamboozled into purchasing iMacs with AMD and we're stuck either with Cinema built-in renderer or Corona (what im actually using) No Octane or Redshift for us, since no Nvidia on Apple products ;(
Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely look into it. We also have Redshift training available on our website, for both beginners and advanced levels, that covers basically everything you need to know. Check it out here: cgshortcuts.com/redshift/
