What do I do if I don’t have Octane Renderer, how/where do I download it ?
I use Octane to render all of my stuff as in my opinion it's the fastest (and easiest) renderer available. It does require the correct NVidia GPU setup though if it's something you wanted to look into. You can find more information here: home.otoy.com/render/octane-render/ and if you go down that path we have training for Octane on our website here: cgshortcuts.com/courses/the-octane-materials-masterclass/ We also hope to do more rendering tutorials soon! HI Esin! You can use the Cinema 4D build in renderer ;)
Then how do you render it? Like export it into a video? Im still new at this. also i dont think you can use any hdri maps... i did just that and mine, the color, look different its black instead of white
Everything is working perfectly up until I add the specular material. I've tried a few different tutotials with specular and keep encountering the same problem. I'm suspecting it's my computer. MacBook pro?

go to render settings, click "Frame Range" set it to all frames.
Set your resolution right (output) tab to 1920 x 1080 for 1080p.
In the Save tab set your "File..." and put it where you will save your animation.
Close the tab and click the "Render to picture view" (middle button)
and let your pc do the magic :)

with the new cinema 4d r23 update, octane no longer works, what should i use instead?
I'd recommend not switching to new versions straight away until plugin creators are able to publish updates, otherwise you'll have a lot of problems. I'm still using r22. Just give it a few weeks, octane will be working soon

HDRI haven is the best place for HDRI maps

Completely depends on your machine and scene optimization, took me about an hour
