@@mrlightwriter You need a lot of creativity merged with knowledge (hard work). You can't simply "Hard work" your brain to have such output of creativity, references can only guide you so far. Simply try comparing other VFX artist with similar resumes, you can easily see the difference and that where Talent resides. It can be in speed, innovation, etc.
@@mocapcow2933 No, what I meant was that, when many people talk about talent, it really is a amalgamation of hard word and knowledge acquired during many years.
The reason why smoke simulations look so similar to water simulations is because from a physics/engineering perspective, they are pretty much identical. In science we refer to gases and liquids as 'fluids', because their behaviours can be modelled using the same sets of equations (Navier-stokes et al.). The only (main) difference between the two is the density and viscosity of the fluid.
@@eSKAone- You're technically right, although under large pressures there is a measurable compressibility with water. In the scope of 'solving' the equations (navier-stokes etc.), the main difference between compressible and incompressible fluids is the complexity of the equation as you're able to cancel out certain variables in an incompressible analysis.

I don't know why this came up in my recommendations but I'm glad it did. The effort you put in the VFX simulations can be seen even in your video editing as well. It's 10/10.
Not only the video content is interesting, but the HUGE amount of work you did is... Just WOW! Not only did you spend 111 hours with the cgi, but you also took the time and effort to go outside, film the explanation scenes, film the funny "documentary" thing, and then edit the whole video. Props dude, you've got yourself a new subscriber.

It's interesting to see that computational fluid dynamics/mechanics used for the most advanced mechanical engineering is also used for VFX. Navier and Stokes really knew what they were doing.
Dude, can’t you just be a voice actor who uses Ai? That’s what I’m thinking of doing . You could outperform people who just use Ai as well as voice actors who don’t.
@Author_SoftwareDesigner I want you to think long and hard about that comment. The point of being a voice actor is using your voice. YOUR voice. You CAN do that, sure, but I raise you the question of why should I? That makes me feel talentless. I can do every voice (except female, but I am actually training to do so as a male) that AI showcased in this video on my own. Probably at a 99% copy rate. It's called training and talent. Hence it became a thing. You think Mark Hamil or Dee Bradley Baker use A.I? No. And look at the power of their voice. That is something this A.I program removes any need for. No nee dfor talent, training or even a human and THAT makes me feel sad. I've worked hard to maintain my vocal range, and along comes a robot to do it for you. Not perfectly, but everybody will just use that to pay an actual human wishing to eat food and make a lil money by using what I've been given in life. And that is a talent to sing, voice and act. Two of which A.I now do for people and they'd rather do that because humans have lost the ability to want to be social in this cruel and digitally revolving world. So, respectfully. I could. But hell no. To quote I am enough in my own voice to not need A.I.
Then if you're serious about your VA then you should get into AI tools as well. I've seen what a good VA can do with AI enhancement and results are absolutely amazing already. AI on it's own, without solid VA still is inferior but VA + AI enhancement is definitely the way it will be done in near future.

The only problem with the 100 hours simulation is the transition between the water level raising from the 3d simulation and the flat sea level near the camera. It looks like adding a 'rectangle sea' to cover something. It is clearly visible when the whale hit the ocean again (11:20), the 3d simulation is completely white, and the flat sea level is completely dark.

Really means a lot🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is the first video of yours that I saw just because it was recommended to me and I'm not really into VFX but I thoroughly enjoyed your creativity in filming and creating THIS video. My favorite part is probably the Attenborough-ish narration of you, hahaha!
7:18 can't believe you put this OG song in here...that was my childhood man less goo
Eyyy gotta love the nostalgia🙏🏼🙏🏼
You're amazing man !! The last one looks straight out of Avatar, you're motivating me to try vfx now !!
Too kind, thank you!! And you should give it a try - it's so much fun!! It changed my life tbh
@@erikdoesvfx I will! Do you recommend starting with blender? And are there any good lessons I could learn from on youtube or anywhere else?😭😭
Man continue with this level and you will be top tier
I'll do my best!! :)
Wow great work bro, I don’t understand how you have the patience, motivation, and courage for this 😂
Really appreciate that man! It's definitely hard work but it's so much fun
Ridiculously good. With quality this high the only thing missing is more turbulence/waves in the larger body of water.
So happy you like it!!
really beautiful lighting on the last shot esp with the god rays, great job
Means a lot! Thank you🙏🏼
Man, you nailed it. That's amazing, the final result looks like a high budget movie😮😮😮😮😮
You're too kind!! Thank you🙏🏼
