Can they even do that? Does it not fall under fair use if you are casting over those games, that makes it transformative right? I get if you just upload footage of it and nothing else. That doesn't sound right to me that you can get banned or striked for that, demonitized sure.
@@yangpaan453 I don't know if recasting games without permission has been tested in court, but I doubt it. The closest thing I can think of is reaction channels. Some reaction videos are legal (like LegalEagle's "a lawyer reacts"), but these generally take small pieces of a longer work, at lower resolution, interspersed with lengthy commentary. Many are clearly not legal. Typically, playing an entire work uninterrupted without permission is illegal unless it is in the public domain. Even if you talk over it. For instance, MST3K paid for licenses for all the movies it used, whereas RiffTrax only sells the commentary audio for you to play over your own legally owned copy of the movie. The most famous lawsuit on the issue of reaction videos was for H3H3's "The Big, The BOLD, The Beautiful," which uses clips from Matt Hoss Zone's "Bold Guy vs. Parkour Girl." In this video, the clips were only a few seconds long, and the commentary was far longer. So clearly it would be legal for Artosis to play clips of games and then discuss them. On the other hand, plenty of videos use much longer clips or even complete works while just talking over them, and those videos do receive strikes and takedown notices. One problem with just releasing a commentary over a complete video is that someone could view it on mute, and then it's not transformative at all. I think that speaks to the violating nature of the work. By the way, just because it's legally possible for KeSPA to defend their copyright here, that doesn't mean they must or they should. But they probably didn't flag the videos manually, just dumped their entire library into Content ID, and this is the result.
@@EebstertheGreat I believe it should be legal to use a replay file and cast your own commentary. This is fundamentally different from using the (protected) original video feed that includes video of the players and original live commentary. A comparable example might be chess, where several years ago the organizers of the World Chess Championships tried to use legal means to shut down live commentary broadcasts of the WCh games on chess websites that were not "licensed" by the world championship event organizers. They argued that since they hosted the event, the moves played in these chess games (comparable to a SC replay) should be legally protected, meaning other websites should not be able to show a replay of the same WCh chess game but with different live commentary. As far as I know these organizers lost all their legal challenges, and other chess websites have since been allowed to continue hosting their own commentary of World Chess Championship games. I suppose one could argue that a SC replay is more complex than a list of the moves played in a chess game, but I think the situation is similar enough that it should be legally possible to recast these SC replays (especially when they are that old!) without suffering copyright strikes.
3:25 This isn't a laugh of amusement. This is the sound of a man who has experienced great pain, sympathizing with another who is enduring the same fate he once held.
It was an impressive game, showcasing Bisu's deep strategic understanding. Recognizing that his front was vulnerable, he chose to expand aggressively along the map's sides, creating space and buying himself some much-needed breathing room. Flash, however, demonstrated his trademark brilliance, methodically hunting down Bisu's expansions and maintaining constant pressure. His ability to catch shuttles and reavers at critical moments was game-changing, tipping the balance in his favor. The pivotal moment came when Flash positioned a single tank on the high ground, which slowly starved Bisu of resources, ultimately sealing the victory. Great game!! 😎
Hey Arty, is it possible you could upload those old videos on, say, Patreon? I really miss watching some of those old games, and at this point they very feel inaccessible now. But they were some of my favourite childhood memories.
This mappool offering one of the greatest variety of gameplay ever - love to see monty hall games Artosis: vetos all maps that scramble the game around when he plays

Artie, have you thought of doing a dropbox of old casts on patreon? Can't take em down if they're direct downloads and I'd pay to watch those old casts
Very interesting game I love watching games on this map. I sometimes watch old OSL games on KlazartSC channel just to see how the pros play in the old days. Amazing how old this map is
I still remember watching the OG match for the first time on Klazarts channel during that OSL I was so pissed it took me like 10 years to forgive flash.
1:12 I think that is part of the reason why so many people talk about Serral being the GOAT in SC2. Because even though he isn't - by definition (as you very precisely pointed out), I'd argue that in almost(?) all of RTS, the best macro player of all time (which Serral is in SC2, as you also pointed out) is also the most skilled player of all time (which can be a different thing than tournament wins). And I think that's what people talk about.
Burptosis. Beautiful game. Flash was five steps ahead. I feel like he played the map too just better than Bisu. He really utilised all of its features. I thought he wasted the advantage he got by pushing so far and containing the choke, but when he flew that CC north it was clear that he had it all planned out and executed perfectly rather than improvising step by step.
Sup Arty, Some constructive criticism. I feel like you read my last comment about post game analysis. Glad to say they're going absolutely amazing. Love it. I personally would love some mid game pauses to finish your thoughts. I know you get billion ideas which you can't fully talk into. Give us all the options a player has at any point in the game you see fit. Then once you press play we can see what happens. Adds excitement. Kindest regards
Sadly midgame pauses aren't possible because the Starcraft replay system is built on spit and duct tape. If you spend more than a (random!) number of seconds paused it desyncs the replay. It's baaaaaaad.
at 9:39, wait. did Flash just repaired the wraith at 103 becasue 103 health and 120 health is the same number of goon shots? If that's on purpose, that is an insane optimization.
It can't be understated how much ppl disliked Flash after he knocked Bisu out of OSL with a "cheese". But Bisu was never the noble Protoss like Reach or Stork. Bisu has always been the Protoss version of Boxer, maybe not cheesy but very cheeky. Thanks!
do you think a bunker would have helped defend flash's 9 o'clock base from the shuttle + reaver harassment? i'm surprised i don't see more bunkers for anti-harass but i'm not any good at starcraft, i just watch.
Its crazy that they would take down modern casts of those 17 year old games
It doesn’t help them to do that at all
Can they even do that? Does it not fall under fair use if you are casting over those games, that makes it transformative right? I get if you just upload footage of it and nothing else. That doesn't sound right to me that you can get banned or striked for that, demonitized sure.

I think I'm dying because my body has so many CpM (chills per minute) that my temp is dropping fast

2 rage quits an hour can help raise internal body temperature
Cpm is a good term especially while watching flash
Every time he says Flash I bar up so hard I can’t feel my legs
Chills per minute 😂 well done sir
Bisu forgetting to get his probes mining his island base for a full two minutes from 13:30 - 15:35
I could watch Bisu and Flash every day, all day. Keep em coming Arty. Love the history lessons too, though it makes me feel old.

I had no idea this was such an old map tbh
13:49 that one zealot got so angry with the situation he had to unleash his wrath on a pylon
That was an amazing game. Looks like Bisu has been polishing his reaver micro.

First scarab was 9 SCVs...
“Decent scarab”
Casual scarab destroys like 5th of the economy, sigh...
This upload is legendary !!
Tbh would like to see all great players play this map. Great match 🎉
7:00 Holy shit what am I even watching !!!! This is beyond the standard starcraft experience. This is micro to its best rendition, wow, what a show!

Artosis casting this game is so much better than the other guy casting this game, and it's not even close
Who is the other guy?
@@lsdap1969 SaiyanKCM. He's a perfectly acceptable caster, is the funny thing, but he's not enlightening and thrilling like Artosis is.

Today I was woken up by chills
It sucks that your old casts got taken down, those were some great videos
Got chills from this sick game
As usual, 10/10 commentary. Thanks Artosis!
Flash vs Bisu 2: Electric Chillaroo
Great game and analysis! You could see the greatness in both players
Great game+analysis. I remember Day9 saying something like, "If your opponent is doing something weird, just kill him."
Wow this game was insane! ♥
Games like this are why I love Monty Hall as a map.
the wraith is a large unit for balance reasons, toast
you're welcome
Should've been medium. It's smaller than a scout but bigger than a muta (lorewise anyway).
my favourite player of all time will always be BOXER, because of the sheer JOY he brought to cheese
This match is phenomenal
Greatest Terran of all time.. Still doesn't bring 2-3 Gols with the initial push to defend against reaver drops and zelbombs.
What's so silly is that if Bisu had made a pylon next to that mineral wall in that old game, he autowins.
At this point everyone still in SSL is very happy that Flash didn't attempt to qualify.
Feelin the chillz right down to me bowls
WHAT A GAME!
Artie, have you thought of doing a dropbox of old casts on patreon? Can't take em down if they're direct downloads and I'd pay to watch those old casts
Damn Artosis, you could’ve at least posted a sweater advisory for ALL THE CHILLS. Maybe in the year 2069 we’ll get an appropriate warning
What a truly incredible game
LOL THOSE 2 SNIPES IN A ROW ON REAVER HOLY!!!
copyright is one hell of a drug
Watched the refinery minerals swap a while ago. Was very interesting
Arty missed that the first reaver shot got 9 scvs. Crazy that flash came back from that!
