I have a question: when at the end of your video you show how to hide the wire, you cross over an airbag. Isn't this dangerous and could trap the airbag if it goes off in an accident?
Just another question: what is safest to install: 1. hardwire to the fuses or 2. install to the OBD input. 2 different kits.

Thank you for sharing this video on a dashcam installation, when you feed the wiring from the headlining, through to the A-Pillar, and down to the weather stripping, it looks pretty straight forward, my question to you is my biggest concern, the way you feed the wiring through the A-Pillar, if God forbid, if you're involved in a accident, will it interfere with the operation of the side curtain airbag?

dumb question - I have the Vantrue wire kit and the N4. I only want the camera to run while the engine is running. Which wire would I use? The battery+/red or the ACC/yellow and of course the black ground. Watched other videos and everyone seems to do it differently. Or does it not matter since the fuze is cold when the ignition is off

I do have a question, when piggybacking on an existing fuse slot, is it ideal to have a matching fuse amp as the original fuse you’re sharing it with?
I know you mentioned a 10 amp is safe to use on an empty slot does the kit come with various extra fuse?

If you’re piggybacking a fuse, it should be the same fuse size or smaller
Why is one wire hooked to battery and one to the accessory? Also, it seems like you skipped through hooking up the ground wires or did I miss it?
I mean you could just plug it in the cigarette lighter. The reason is because you can use your camera with the car off, for things like motion detection which is how I use it.
The accessory one is when your car is on and it’s always recording. As far as the ground, he did mention it in the video. He said where all the grounds goes. But basically, you can use any metal screw, anything close to the kit.

I don't understand where the yellow wire gets plugged in to? Unless I missed something or didn't understand.
Yellow wire ones to a fuse that only has power when the key is on
But where you've put the cable, it'll interfere with the airbag in the beam?

I have open fuse slots like 6, 7, and 8 that are currently not used in the fuse box, how many amps are those? I ask because I know the voltage will read 12v but can I put any fuse on those empty slots?
Yes and no, a 10 amp fuse would be safe to install on the open fuse spot

? I have a 2014 Acura RDX. According to my multimeter - all of the fuses are showing power - even though I can't use some of the functions, like windshield wipers without starting the car. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Thank you in advance

@@dannysdiygarage My apologies. I have the Vantrue hardwire kit and have watched your video. My understanding is I have to connect two wires to the fuse box. One goes to a fuse or an empty space that always has the power on in the vehicle even if it isn't running - i.e. the door locks. I also have to find a fuse or empty spot (for the accessory wire I believe), that goes to a fuse or empty fuse receptacle that only works when the vehicle is running. If I have that right - my issue is - with the old analog multimeter I am using - it indicates all have power to them - even when the vehicle isn't running. For example - I can't turn the windshield wipers on when the vehicle isn't running, but yet it still shows pwer per the multimeter. Can I still hardwire this somehow? Not sure if this matters - I have no idea how to use the multimeter. I was trying to just follow the video and you laid it out so clearly. Does that make sense? Thank you for even considering helping me with this.
