They were a boy band when they started! They formed a band and were singing before they were teenagers! I think Robin and Maurice were about 8 years old.
Andy Gibb was not part of The Bee Gees, he was the younger brother and a solo artist. (Sir) Barry Gibb is the lead singer of The Bee Gees, with Maurice and Robin, and is still very much alive.

They also have a younger brother who had his own solo career that they helped with. His name is Andy Gibb. What would’ve been his 65th birthday is coming up on Sunday March 5. It’s a sacrilege to call these talented brothers a “boy band”. That’s a term for these new age choreography boys who feel the need to dance to their music. The Bee Gees could stand in front of a mic and magic would happen. Just pure talent. Not manufactured like today.
Saw them in Anchorage Alaska in 1976 when they were passing through. We only had the West High School Auditorium and I was just 20 seats away. They were TALLER than I realized. I was about 23 years old... 72 now
I am 70 and we had the best music, most uplifting, and this band was the best.....their Too much Heaven was my all time favorite, REAL music!!! But this a very close second!
The Beegees had something that can never be matched because it is all 100% REAL voice, no auto tune, no manipulation like everything now is packed with. Your authentic reaction was a great compliment to the song

In my opinion, the Bee Gees are the best band in history. Their writing, the vocal ranges, their harmonies....... the hair! They had it all. And the way they came up with ideas for their songs was so inspire: Jive Talking came about becuase they were passing over a road with ridges on it and the sound the tyres made gave them the intro for the song. It takes a certain talent to hear a song in such everyday things. They're musical geniuses.

It was reserved for "manufactured" groups that were assembled with singers that would appeal to teenage girls and didn't write any of their own music. In the 60s and 70s there were bands with young males but they were generally family groups like The Bee Gees and The Jackson 5 that lasted into their adulthood and had artistry that developed over the decades.

When I hear this song, I feel this wave of nostalgia which takes me back to before I was in kindergarten. Those happy golden years of toys and naps and running through the grass in the backyard.

When my daughter was around 3 years old, she would point to Barry and say “Jesus”. I guess I can see what she was talking about. I would respond “ no honey, but he does sing like an angel!” You should react to “ Fanny Be Tender”. It’s an earlier song done by them.
I keep suggesting Fanny Be Tender on reaction channels but few get to it. I read that it was so complicated to perform, they rarely performed it live. It’s definitely on my playlist! ❤
Barry Gibb just his song writing ability alone puts him up at the top as far as lyricists go but than add in that leading vocal voice with the falcetto & ability to harmonize so well with his brothers. AMAZING band

This boy band wrote their own material and played instruments! You might have to react to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack- filled with their and others’ monster hits- like Disco Inferno by The Tramps! The You Should Be Dancing vid features scenes from the film- including John Travolta’s famous solo dance at the disco.
Their Mother said that she didn't even know that they could sing. She said that one day she thought they had the radio playing loud and went to see what was going on and it was them singing.
In the courtyard between tower 1 & 2 of the World Trade Center, this song was playing when many of the jumpers hit the pavement. Bittersweet to think that they heard 2 or 3 seconds of this heavenly harmonizing, and it was the last thing they ever heard.

When my daughter was around 3 years old, she would point to Barry and say “Jesus”. I guess I can see what she was talking about. I would respond “ no honey, but he does sing like an angel!” You should react to “ Fanny Be Tender”. It’s an earlier song done by them.

I keep suggesting Fanny Be Tender on reaction channels but few get to it. I read that it was so complicated to perform, they rarely performed it live. It’s definitely on my playlist! ❤

Barry Gibb just his song writing ability alone puts him up at the top as far as lyricists go but than add in that leading vocal voice with the falcetto & ability to harmonize so well with his brothers. AMAZING band
I grew up with this band and No the bands today are Nothing like the BeeGees. Their harmony. The lyrics they write no comparison. Love the BeeGees. Three brothers who started singing together when they were 8 and 9.
I can tell you first hand these brothers were one of a kind, 4 decades plus of top hits, your disco music collection started with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and The BeeGees.

Thanks Polo for being a big softy. Like me. I grew up with this music. I'm so sorry that you missed out and had to listen to Hip Hop and the like. There was nothing like having the last dance of the evening with the one you loved the most, holding her tight and letting this beautiful music flow through your bodies together. Such a shame that youngsters today couldn't experience that. I'm sure the world would have been a much nicer place.

Their Mother said that she didn't even know that they could sing. She said that one day she thought they had the radio playing loud and went to see what was going on and it was them singing.

In the courtyard between tower 1 & 2 of the World Trade Center, this song was playing when many of the jumpers hit the pavement.
Bittersweet to think that they heard 2 or 3 seconds of this heavenly harmonizing, and it was the last thing they ever heard.
The BeeGees were the kings of the Disco era in the 70’s. They just kept kicking out hit after hit. Amazing musicians that were incredibly prolific.
I was 10 years old when this came out. I still love it. I loved The Bee Gees, and their little brother, Andy Gibb. Andy had his own music career. I still have one of his albums.
