I know it takes twice as long to film it all so thanks for taking the time.

Great video ,very well done. The factory hitch is usually the best option,I’d done it the same way you did hanging the bed off your trusses👍

Excellent instructional video, and indeed one wants to order the truck or find one that has the puck system in it from the factory if possible and as you pointed out its not possible to even install the GM unit after the fact. I was going to mention a trick with drill bits if there is a danger of flying through a hole and unintentionally damaging something. I know its easy to have a drill grab and "thread" itself into thin material and things can go wrong fast. The trick is to have some rubber hose of an inner diameter that is slightly larger that the drill diameter in question, a smaller drill sizes can use vacuum hose or a size of fuel hose for example. Chuck the twist drill and then cut the hose ... could be as little as a 1/4 shorter or a 1/2 inch as examples. Then there is no way the drill bit can accidentally go deeper than the "give" of the rubber hose. A hole saw can be done similar by using a narrow section of rubber hose and it can be slit and then cut to length so it goes around the hole saw and then a hose clamp is utilized to clamp the hose to the hole saw. Yes its a lot of messing around but if something is very critical it might be worth the effort.

You have to have that tailgate up at 80° or you’ll have a bitch of a time getting that out of the driver side tensioner groove that’s the key to getting that tailgate off with no trouble 80° up and then it’ll come right out of the notch. Also you should mention in your link that that the side measurement of 10 1/4 is from the wheel well not the side of the bed. Great video.

Absolutely, get it from the factory if you can if you order as it's only a 500 plus option, but most dealers aren't getting this put in on their stock orders. Not sure why. I do prefer this sytem from all the big three over a BW turn over ball or other puck systems not being OEM. Ford and RAM you can ad later, Chevy, you cannot get their puck system added after the truck is built and one would have to do a turn over ball system. Thanks for watching.
