Korn gets a lot of hate from older and you get metal fans. If you are in your 30s, know how important they are. The metal formula totally changed with these guys. Even if numetal is dead, djent is 100% the child of numetal. The lowered tunes, heavy, groovy percussion, the choppy licks. Korn paved the way for generations of up and coming metal fans. Oh yea,and they are still putting out records almost 30 years later. So show respect where it's due.
Djent is NOT 100% child of numetal.Meshuggah's Contradiction of Collapse came out in 91,they were already using 7 strings back then and sounded "djenty" already..I'm in my mid 30s and grew up listening to Korn up until life is peachy..they did start something that change the way we listen to metal, but eventually they did destroy it themselves..their later albums were unbearable and cringey.
Nah man, the first time you heard Korn, you knew they were legends from day one. No one sounded like them back then and its still true almost 30 years later.
Went for Megadeth back in summerof 95 in New Orleans, left as huge Korn fans. They were quite original for those times. I had never heard of them before 😃.
@emreergen same here, in Pittsburgh @ star lake amphitheatre (currently named something else, post gazette pavilion I think?). It was my first concert ever. Megadeth,Korn, Fear Factory, Floatsam & Jetsam. I went for Megadeth, never even heard of the other bands. Korn blew me away. I'm pretty sure the set in Pittsburgh was longer though, because I distinctly remember the bag pipes coming out for "shoots and ladders" and was like WTF
Korn opening for Megadeth, Deftones opening for Anthrax, Slipknot opening for Coal Chamber... when you go to shows where you're fav bands are the openers... those memories last!
@Mike S sick. that show was the first bootleg VHS I got of Korn. Got a chance to hang with Korn during the Monster Magnet co headline tour for the first album. Amazing times.
Internet Hero sorry to disagree but this is Korn before the money, the record industry pressures making them feel the need to sell arenas and change their style to sell more. This was what Korn really was about
yeah that negative ticked Korn off and a number of fans including me. I caught 7 of David's sticks during their shows and he refused to sign his stick saying "I don't sign sticks, my signature is branded on the bottom." Yet all the other guys happily signed it and I had Munky and Fieldy apologize to my mom and i at Namm because he was a complete douche to us and said to go in the back of the line for his signature when we stood their for 4 hours. Have 12 sticks of Ray's and each one is personally signed by him and the band. Ray has an actual heart and not a money grubbing attitude. David put a big sour taste in my family's mouth, and apparently he was known for being a douche doing that crap, this is just my experiences with him. The rest of the Korn guys are the most humble human beings on this earth.
@iVeigar he was super young (youngest in band) & was just an insecure kid w/ talent. most kids at his age on this album whose band blows up are douches, don't take it personally
Loco, esto es oro puro, se puede ver toda la rabia que tenían, el sonido perfecto acorde a lo que es Korn en sus inicios. La base rítmica es una locura total.
Korn in their prime hitting on all cylinders: JD: insane vocals & headbanging courtesy of meth Head: insane backup vocals David: insane groove drumming especially on Faget which he said is the most difficult korn song to play Fieldy: trademark slap bass that rattles your spine Munk: being Munk aka dope
Definitivamente en los jovenes esta la fuerza. Todos estaban en sus 20s y tenian una fuerza en el escenario brutal y una energía descomunal. Lamentablemente este Korn no volvera jamas!
And a new era just begun!!! They brought so many different ideas in the sound of metal. They inspired even the most hardcore classic metalheads! This is real KoRn!!!
Nu metal been around since Run Dmc with Aerosmith. Public Enemy and Anthrax. but Korn made it into a huge bigger deal but if that's what your saying then i understand
@dominic hocutt It's a bit different bro! That which you say was a co operation between hip hop bands and rock--metal bands. Korn brought it in metal themselves, without clear rapping but you could understand their inspiration from that genre of music. Till today some sounds they invented with their guitars, are about to become "classics". In their early years till middle 00's they had many many funs and haters at the same time. It was something new but I believe really strong and "catchy". Now almost all metal heads recognize Korn as a metal band which deserves respect for their unique sound!!!
This is supremely dope. Head's backing vocals on Ball Tongue are absolute brutality. I discovered KoRn in 1999 so this era was just a bit before my time, absolutely legendary.
I remember setting up for them at the Palace Theater in Louisville. They had just gotten their new Mesa heads and didn't have cases for them. Just cardboard boxes over them. They were opening for Megadeth with Fear Factory. Great show
I'd give ANYTHING to turn the clock and be there front row..Korn got me out of a LOT of depression caused by certain family members, I owe these guys a ton!
🤤This right here is what set korn apart from so many of their fellow up-and-comers and I would say they even did the unspeakable and eclipsed many of the band's they were opening for back then! They made an instant impression, never to be forgotten! And man did the crowd respond, (against their collective will!) I mean they made those motherfuckers move!!! 🤘🤘🤘🖤
I saw them open for Megadeth in 95. I showed up late and didn't catch their entire set. Talk about regrets. I was blown away once I got there and saw this band I had never heard of before.
Me impresiona la distancia en la que Silveria tiene los hit-hats en "Lies", y cómo este le pega (durante ambos versos) con tanta facilidad. Excelente video!!
@Eric Hargrove Ross Robinson let them be creative and let loose, Issues and onwards the producers started having more influence. It worked out for Untouchables, SYOTOS, and Untitled, but then there was disappointments like Korn III (which involved Ross but they couldn’t recapture the magic) and TPS. TALITIM was a disappointment as well but that was self produced so there’s that.
haha nice, me too. started off on offspring smash when i was around 8. i remember when life is peachy came out being disturbed & in aww of the cover. it wasn't anywhere near as heavy as the self titled which i was a bit let down
the freestyles during ball tongue make an already incredible song better. Literally never heard the freestyles before and I wish they kept it in the final release.
trust me, it doesn't matter. You've probably seen some cool bands that people int the future wish they saw. You might not even remember. But those kids wills ay exactly what you've just said. Cherish what you have got!
I was at the Louisville Ky Palace show with Megadeth, Flotsom and Jetsom, and Fear Factory. My older cousin took me for my 13th birthday. It was actually the first time I ever heard KoRn, but was a fan from that day forward. Went to actually see Megadeth and Fear Factory. @BLIND My point is..those records were sick head fuck albums. Compared to their later albums that tried too hard being "unique".
@ArsonRaven Garcia good point. My apologies.
@BLIND all good brother.lets just enjoy the music!.
Imagine being there and not realizing you’re watching legends in the making.
Nah man, the first time you heard Korn, you knew they were legends from day one. No one sounded like them back then and its still true almost 30 years later.

You know when you go to a concert and are just thinking holy fuck the whole time!? Yea you knew you were seeing something outta this world.

We knew

@Eastonv1000 Niceone, Appreciate it 🆒!!
Finally, Serj commenting the setlist
Korn opening for Megadeth, Deftones opening for Anthrax, Slipknot opening for Coal Chamber... when you go to shows where you're fav bands are the openers... those memories last!
Saw Deftones and Korn open for Ozzy in February 1996. Parts of that concert are on UA-cam. Search "Korn Oakland 1996"
@Mike S sick. that show was the first bootleg VHS I got of Korn. Got a chance to hang with Korn during the Monster Magnet co headline tour for the first album. Amazing times.
*your
@Lost In The Why wow they toured with monster magnet? That's dope
When did Slipknot play opening for coal Chamber??
This is the real KoRn !!!!
+Marcos Tafur FUCK YEA
So is Korn that i saw earlier this year.....lol
Internet Hero sorry to disagree but this is Korn before the money, the record industry pressures making them feel the need to sell arenas and change their style to sell more. This was what Korn really was about
man, all we need money
The real?
God the energy David gives off is so real, Even for being behind a drum kit
yeah that negative ticked Korn off and a number of fans including me. I caught 7 of David's sticks during their shows and he refused to sign his stick saying "I don't sign sticks, my signature is branded on the bottom." His drunming was on point this show!
That’s why his wrists got
Fucked up
@iVeigar he was super young (youngest in band) & was just an insecure kid w/ talent. most kids at his age on this album whose band blows up are douches, don't take it personally

Korn in their prime hitting on all cylinders:
JD: insane vocals & headbanging courtesy of meth
Head: insane backup vocals
David: insane groove drumming especially on Faget which he said is the most difficult korn song to play
Fieldy: trademark slap bass that rattles your spine
Munk: being Munk aka dope
Courtesy of ME
They’re the perfect band. Perhaps too perfect.
jonathon kicked meth on their first big tour
That makes me sad ☹️
6:34 OML HE CAN RAP!! I LOVE THIS PART SOO FUCKING MUCH!!
he could do very complex vocal techniques, of course he could rap which is almost as easy as speaking
@Nicolò T yeah true just takes some search up and practice. But it makes it even more cool it’s Jonathan
9:00 this whole song is played so perfectly, damn I miss these days
real korn right here. energic and powerful. damnn i wish i could see them live in mid 90s.
It was great. I was 13 when I saw them in 96 and man, I still remember it
Head's guitar is actually higher than usual??!!
Yet his voice is just insane here!
BALL TONGUE!!!!!
RedHotSlap you should hear is voice at rock am ring 2000 on Somebody Someone. Brutal!
RedHotSlap yeah I saw them quite few few times early and head sang lot more it seemed
@Awoodward7899 always see you on basically every bone thug video, sick to see you on a korn video too
@Ryan Stroup taking this recommendation for myself😅
OMG,finally Brian’s backing vocals sounds clearly and loud.Especially on «Blind»,I love it at the verses❤️
Love that dance Jonathan starts doing around 14:11. So odd but had a good timing to it
His old freakout 😂
odd but badass asf
love when he used to do those different dance movements with many "parts" in it. clearly rehearsed :D
korn music never getting old
Definitivamente en los jovenes esta la fuerza. Todos estaban en sus 20s y tenian una fuerza en el escenario brutal y una energía descomunal.
Lamentablemente este Korn no volvera jamas!

@Chris Tmk You got a point there bro bro
One of the rarest videos where jonathans voice is really on fleek
Raw, unfiltered, HARD HITTING Korn!! Love it!!!
Discovered Korn's self titled album in 2019...had to see live the great energy i've heard on that...confirmed!
onafets elitrep same
OML YESSSS
The harmony on blind is so evil; I've never heard it like this before. I love this band!
Leyendas, una de las mejores bandas creadas
This is supremely dope. Head's backing vocals on Ball Tongue are absolute brutality. I discovered KoRn in 1999 so this era was just a bit before my time, absolutely legendary.
I was at this show, one of the greatest shows I’ve ever been to.
Who did Korn open for at this show?
@DamionChrist megadeth I beleive
Was this at the cow palace or the palace of Auburn hills?
I remember setting up for them at the Palace Theater in Louisville. They had just gotten their new Mesa heads and didn't have cases for them. Just cardboard boxes over them. They were opening for Megadeth with Fear Factory. Great show
So fuckin jealous so lucky lol
Este es el KoRn del que me enamore en los 90's ❤
Esta es una joya! 🤘
I'd give ANYTHING to turn the clock and be there front row..Korn got me out of a LOT of depression caused by certain family members, I owe these guys a ton!
Love old school KoRn!!!
🤤This right here is what set korn apart from so many of their fellow up-and-comers and I would say they even did the unspeakable and eclipsed many of the band's they were opening for back then! This is really music.....KoRn the best!
Unbelievable quality sound! Especially the quiet parts of Jonathon. Everything so clear.
God Head's backing vocals were amazing
I saw them open for Megadeth in 95. I showed up late and didn't catch their entire set. Talk about regrets. I was blown away once I got there and saw this band I had never heard of before.
Oh man I couldn’t believe what it would be like just walking in on their set… especially going to a megadeth show.
Good God did they sound amazing on this show!!!
It’s crazy how KoRn has the crowd moving like that
За 25 лет как изменились то!! Слежу за их творчеством с начала)))
А мне они тогда не нравились 🙈
Зато сейчас реально круто 👍🏻
@Alex Being выросли, не могу же они играть одно и тоже)
I seen Korn for first time back in 96 at the war memorial in Syracuse ny. They opened up for Ozzy and they blew my mind! Been a fan ever since!
Tremendo registro!!! Thanks for share this document, it is amazing! Makes me remember all what korn was for those years
Jon is an absolute animal on vocals
This is raw and heavy unfiltered Korn!
If there were such thing as a time machine l, I would watch this in person.
Same...
Me impresiona la distancia en la que Silveria tiene los hit-hats en "Lies", y cómo este le pega (durante ambos versos) con tanta facilidad. Excelente video!!
Head's screams at Ball Tongue gave me chills
that energy, korn4life
So raw man, love it.
Que sonzeira esse show... animal
This is the Korn I grew up with. Brings back great memories of Jnco jeans and skateboarding, not giving a damn.
JUST FOUND THIS HOW FUCKIN DOPE!!!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE KORN!!!!!!
sounds damn near like the album
Yeah, it's almost like the people who recorded are playing it. It's uncanny.
The raw energy at 14:10 is unbelievable. Tension released in an explosion.
Thanks for sharing this awesome show!
The real voice of korn
The sound is great!👍
Need to has such an groove to it, ah I miss them when they did their own thing instead of listening to producers.
The reason they were so good was because they listened to their producer Ross Robinson, and drugs. Lots of drugs
Old school Korn baby!! Love it! The end of the set though, "We got a new record out now if ya don't know, take yo ass to the sto" hahaha!!
These were the days man! Wish I could go back in time, that's when life was amazing!
Really good sound
Loved the old Korn lineup and the old korn sound.
Wow this is amazing 🔥🔥
95! Crazy, didn’t discover these till 98, aged like 10, this shit was going down when I was starting school
haha nice, me too. started off on offspring smash when i was around 8. i remember when life is peachy came out being disturbed & in aww of the cover. it wasn't anywhere near as heavy as the self titled which i was a bit let down
Yep 98 for me too. I was 14 when I discovered them. But I didn’t really pay attention too much until Follow The Leader
most original band since the 60s
the best "Deeper deeper deeper" rap live ever 😍
the freestyles during ball tongue make an already incredible song better. Literally never heard the freestyles before and I wish they kept it in the final release.
Great sound quality
So inspiring- Real angst & expression!
Love this so much
So much energy love it miss it
ttsss que concierto tan perrisiimoo
The first ever Nu Metal band - and the first ever Nu Metal drummer - those snare fills were everywhere after that. Every band would do that
If nu metal had followed this line it would have been a very respected heavy metal subgenre
Agreed
I'm glad it didn't.
We don't need the aproval of neckbeard gatekeepers.
Im glad it went with the path of most resistance and pissed everyone of
@Speluniarz - true man
Speluniarz - exactly
nice show. Always good to hear some old korn. But shoots and ladders is also missing from this recording.
When did they shoots and ladders in the original concert?
fantastico
god i wish i was alive at this time
This is the best recording of Ball tongue ever
THIS was the Korn I remember... those were the days man
ball tongue is fucking perfect here
Justin O'Neal it's always perfect lol
18:06 THAT SCREAAAM !!!
This is Gold!
Lies is my favourite. John and Head are awesome together on this song!
This is so damn badass.
1:26 ARE YOU READY???!!!! Oh my Lord I love how they drop caps and shit when they do that are you ready metal part!!
My first time watching this was sometime last year when I was high af from some dabs, and that was one of the most magical moments of my life
Jon Davis one of the greatest frontman
They played so fast that night! Need to (Thrash metal dope core mix).
Ben Williams they were all doing speed at this point! That’ll get the Bpm’s up
Brian is a BEAST here!
I was born too late godammit! I wish I could've experienced early Korn live
uhh you still can. They are always touring
He said early korn not old.
get cream korn
trust me, it doesn't matter. You've probably seen some cool bands that people int the future wish they saw. You might not even remember. But those kids wills ay exactly what you've just said. Cherish what you have got!
I saw them in 94 and 95, still have the ticket stubs!
crazy to think these guys would be playing Woodstock 99 in 4 years
KoRn fuck man this is pure GOLD
History in the making this performance is fucking crazy
The best old school Korn show I've ever seen holy shit lol
cuando korn era una puta maquina!!! time ago when korn was a fucking badass machine!!!
is this really live? wow
I don't remember much from that show, but do remember the drummer of Megadeth, everytime he'd hit his kick drum lighting would pulse through it. That, and the guys from Flotsom and Jetsom were really cool, pulled me into their booth and signed a tape for me.
Though I could swear The Palace Theater is all seating, and it looks like there is general admission in this footage. Hmmmmm
Damm !! this sound Raw !
Amazing
Korn made the bass important in metal. It rips the whole time.
spring 2022 --- they were so amazing in the 90s
I found this show on two different bootlegs. One sounds like it has a lot of treble & the speed/pitch is too fast ("Immortal In-House Cassettes" boot) & the other sounds "fuller" but is a little bit muddier and plays a tad bit slower ("Live From The Palace, Los Angeles, CA" boot) & "Need To" is slightly cut. Unfortunately they are both in 128kbps. I wish i had your copy haha! Great job on this! Too bad it's missing Shoots & Ladders though. Maybe the vid didn't have it? I've heard this vid isn't from this show but it seems to fit anyways.
I miss hearing head sing with JD. Wish they would bring David back and create an album with him. They would die as rock legends if they did.
They already are going to
