Man what a performance!! Imagine being there at that moment and even as a kid hearing these cds in this era... so brutal and groovy but, their performance..? Can’t say enough.. wish this was their set list in the first half of each show
Imagine being a 14 year old in 1997 and your older brother coming home with Life is Peachy and hearing Twist for the first time. Mind Blown. Then buying a 7 string, growing dreadlocks and learning how to play the whole album. That was me. I was listening to Green Day and Nirvana before this came out. Nobody had heard anything like this before.
I was a baby when Korn was popular back in the day. Their Follow the Leader album came out in 1998, one year after I was born [I was born in 1997], and since I discovered that album in 2011 in the first place, I felt immediately connected to that album and the band. And then upon listening to their 1994 self-titled debut in 2012, my love for the band became even deeper. The music, the attitude, the sound and Jonathan Davis's lyrical rants based on his childhood changed my life completely. If it wasn't for Korn, I wouldn't be a musician.
Man.. I was child that time and used to wear the same things: baggy pants and Adidas shoes, even braids like Head's. Loved that all! Wish to have 90s again. Freak and fun years
Posers remember the old days. Us real rock n rollas are still wearing baggie jeans, Adidas, and believe in our guitars more than the status quo Y'ALL settled for
I'm not gonna say dudes a poser but ya...I never stopped wearing the baggy pants and shit. Those skinny jeans are too feminine and I like to be comfortable. Some people moved on but I never will. 90s for life!
Decades later I feel the same love and amazement for this era. This needs to be preserved somewhere off UA-cam. For when there’s a nuclear fall out and there’s nothing left.
This has to be the best next thing to seeing them live. I’ve seen 100’s of their live videos and this is by far the closest one that captures the mid 90’s way that they were performing back then. Straight beast of a set.
22:43-22:58 Love love LOVE how they played the verse riff right after the bridge, just before the last chorus. In the studio version of Divine (the version that's on the first cd), they do not do this little 15 second snippet. But gosh I wish they did. That riff is so simple but so groovy, catchy, low and tough.
I know this comment is old. I've always wondered if they add this bit into the live version so Jon has time to catch his breath after doing that insane bridge before they go into the last chorus!
I used to wear a pair of windbreaker type material neon yellow pants that were way to big for my ass. Along with a bright yellow Fox Racing hoodie that was, I shit you not, atleast 37 sizes too big. I looked ridiculous....
I never went that big with the jeans. Bullhead were my jam. Just the toe of my Docs were showing without that super thick lip that jncos had at the ends of the leg. They were more like super bootcut Levi's. Docs, Duffs Strombolies and Converse Jack Purcells were my kicks. And of course, the hemp necklace and a chain wallet. I was more of a stoner/skater/ muscle car guy, I guess. Bucky Lasek style. I still follow that dude online. Nostalgia is awesome.
