Well, I`ll bring you some reality: you didn`t know him, he was a miserable sob and the good ol` days wasn`t that great. I`m 54 and 22 in 92. I remember the doom and gloom era from 91 to 94. We were glorifying depression. The irony generation (X) came out of that. And then came the 2000s and music became sh!t because the Millennials were snowflakes LOL

I lost my dad in a car crash in 91 and 92 we moved to a new school district where I was bullied and picked on constantly, it was my knowledge of drawing that saved me then. I think it wasn't so much the new genre, but just Kurt's charisma that made everything explosive and fresh. We wanted to identify with this scream. While Kurt had a tendency to mix genres, it's a shame that early 1992 was the beginning of his end. Because maybe it would really be something new.

I always believed he was straining/shouting and giving it everything. He makes it look like that in so many performances.
But here, before the "proper" cameras roll, you can see the same signature sound, but it's effortless e.g 2:42.

Wanna take the feeling out of a musician playing the song live??, have him play it 10,000 times... Can't you just see the excitement dripping from his face!! 🫠😬

I was going to say, they fkn played these songs sideways backwards.
Just do a sound check and that's it!
They are ready! He often played with guitars not quite in tune, didnt really care and neither did his fans.
Way over controlled should have bailed like the chick singing with Metallica...

I never thought to look for this until just now, when it has been on the internet for just 18 hours; thanks, brain. And thanks Nirvana, for rocking so much and so well. 4:40 Adam Sandler?

Krists bass distortion through the smells like teen spirit solo. First time I’ve ever noticed it. No guitar tech just Kurt. Battery in those pedals. No flash pedal board.
    That is gangster 90s. EPIC

Amazing to get a new (and 1st) view of this iconic Nirvana moment. In 8th grade 2002 I had my friend with a computer and fast internet burn me a DVD with all Nirvana stuff and I watched SLTS on SNL 1,000 times. I was obsessed. I want to know why this took so long to come out. Also I pray there is secretly some 35mm film of Nirvana to scan in 4K. Like the Heart Shaped Box music video clip that's in HD from a documentary. Bruh just give us Smells like Teen Spirit 4K scan already, don't care if they have to re-edit the vid, there are tons of 4K 90's vids like Alanis Morissite (Ironic) or David Bowie (Afraid of Americans) they look stunning, mind blowing in 4K. Perhaps the film stock burned in the Universal Fire?
