And actually showed off her ability set well so far. The lightning isn’t just striking it’s manipulating sand, becoming a cage. She isn’t flying on the wind but is one with it. It’s so perfect, she finally has some good modern representation
People are forgetting Charles didn't leave of his own volition. He was attacked by the FOH and on the brink of death. The Shi'ar were the only ones with the tech that could perhaps save his life. The XMen didnt know if he would survive and if he would be able to return.
This is why they do not know his current health status and believe him dead. Remember, this is a continuation of the OG XMen series
Yeah it comes across they hope he’s okay but realize he’s out of reach even if they wanted to reconnect, so him returning after the tragedy is perfect
I'm noticing that each episode always showcases one of the x men in an incredibly epic moment that shows just how powerful they can be. First with Cyclops, then Jean, then Jubilee, then of course my boy Gambit, and now storm. Nightcrawler better be up next now that he's in the intro.

I love Sinister as a background villain with his own agenda. Other villains always either use him or he uses other villains. Storylines rarely ever focus on him by himself.
Yeah, he needs to be paired with another villain or two in the movie, and sort of a carried on thread across multiple movies, but he shouldn't be the first big bad they slug it out with and defeat in the first movie.

The piano melody! I did notice that Storm got her very own leitmotif music!
So far she's the only one of the group that has her own music score I think.

@@_Just_Another_Guy Nope, Jean has it too, as well and Magneto, all Omegas have it, a theme of their own due to being an Omega level mutants. Magneto theme was about to start when the Wild Sentinel said Omega level threat detected but they cut it off instantly... just a few notes...
The first 3 episodes were not Rocky. The only complaint I have is how fast episode 3 was. That should’ve been a 2-parter.

I don’t think the X-Men think Xavier is dead. I think that is just the story they are sharing with the public. Otherwise, that deviates significantly from the final episode of the OG show. But for all intents and purposes, he is essentially the equivalent of dead to them because they assume they won’t see him again.
They all saw him being taken by the shi'ar since they were the only ones that could save him
Sinister is like loki of the first avenger movie... A pawn for thanos and a pawn for apocalypse. That is why it makes sense that he's the first main villain.
Sinister might be working with Bastion
A pawn who thinks he’s the king and sometimes gets a one up on everyone but he still thinks too small through his power obsession

He’s fabulous but doesn’t really do anything crazy iconic outside of Sins of Sinister. I just like him cuz people write the best dialog for him to chew

The show keeps surprising me each week. I’m glad Cassandra Nova isn’t the villain. Since Charles was gone it didn’t make sense to bring her on this soon.

Oh there is definitely something going on with Sinister, listen carefully to his lines as soon as he is revealed, he says "our" several times. There is definitely someone else that works with him or behind the scenes manipulating him...
I think he didn't feel Magneto's death....because Magneto didn't die. ALSO....I actually love Mr. Sinister lol One of my favorite villains. :)
We didn't see Magneto actually die, or his dead body. I think he's alive.
He also had leech with him so maybe leech at the last moment decided to use his power to trick the wild sentinel in thinking megneto was dead

Not sure why, put watching a lot of DC animation made me think Charles Xavier as Lex Luthor.
He’s basically if Lex was a good guy and a meta human. Similar aesthetics and all, fighting for their kind earnestly but dipping into evil for a perceived greater good
Grace the gun did take away her powers but forge machine brought them back. it was her own mental blocks that kept her from accessing them after getting it back
The X-Men doesn’t think Xavier is dead. They all know that he’s alive. Lilandra came in the last episode of the original series in order to heal him
There’s a comic where the scarlet witch helps storm access more of her magical heritage

I loved the magical girl transformation. I think it also hints to the fact that Storm does come from a magical line and does have magic potential, but is also a mutant, like Wanda. But I like that we don’t have to have that explained to us, we all understand that alien, magic and superpowers exist in this world so suspension of disbelief when we see Storm be a baddie! ❤

I do miss the comic version of this Storm Forge storyline. It featured Magik and Nightcrawler's mystic girlfriend who barely gets play, even in the comics.

Storm is so majestic and regal. It’s gonna be a challenge to cast her. Angela Basset is the only actress that I’ve seen out there who can embody Storm. It’s going to be a challenge finding an actress that fits her, especially if marvel is gonna develop the character. I can’t think of any of today’s current actors that can portray her and do her justice. Beyoncé has the look but her acting skills is so so. Then there is the complexion issue where I feel she should be darker. It’s gonna be tough casting her

Mr Sinister is an amazing XMen villain and could certainly carry over to the MCU
Another way in which both story lines fit perfectly is that when Xavier starts schooling the Shi'ar it seemed like the point he as making in some ways were felt very related to Ororo's life and he could even be showing them her amazing feat of power, and bravery to convince them of how greatness can be found in earth too.

cos magnetos not dead he was standing right next to leech who was hugging him thats why the sentinel said omega level threat neutralised or something like that
IIRC, they said "eliminated" for Magneto, but "neutralized" for Gambit.
Grace the X-Men know he’s alive. They (and Magneto) said goodbye to him in the very last episode of the X-Men Animated series “Graduation Day”. The public believes he’s dead. They just play along.

I Can't believe how good this show is turning out to be. I'll say it I love this show. Grew up on the 90's cartoon and this is more than a worthy continuation.
Also, I wonder if X-Factor has been disbanded at this point in the series?
Forge was their leader and I'm still wondering if and how Cyclops will meet his brother Alex (Havok) again.
Not to mention Polaris is also Magneto's daughter.

IIRC, Deathbird is actually from the 1970's, introduced in a Ms. Marvel Volume 1 issue. I remember because I bought that issue off a newstand rack as a kid and later bought a copy when recreating my comic collection.

Thats an iconic look, but I think its weird that she had a sailor moon costume and hair change.
My thoughts are that Forge was able to undo the effects of the ray, but Storm held her powers back until she defeated her own demons.
Awesome video. Loved the deep lore references. I do wonder if they’ll do Stryfe and X-cutioner’s Song this series. Would tie nicely with Cable and Madeline story line.

I don't think Magneto died. The entire time he's fighting the Sentinel, he's never referred to as an Omega Level Mutant. It's not until the Morlocks surround Magneto that the Sentinel refers to a OLM detected. I think Leech was the Omega Level Mutant, and he died.
I'm sorry but I'm not a comics guy, how is Leech an OLM again, isn't he the green toad guy?

His power is to sap other mutant powers rendering them useless. Leech is basically a biological ultimate nullifier that can sap almost any mutant power including really strong Omega level ones.
I was hoping that Storm wouldn't get her powers back until AFTER her iconic duel with Cyclops.

I think Magneto not in the opening isn’t because he is “dead”, but more so after what happened he will no longer be part of the X-Men.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the way Ororo found her power and defeated the Adversary. Was it really another case of "You had the power inside you all along"? She did look fab though. As far as Sinister being behind the attack, it resonates with his role in the Mutant Massacre.

I definitely enjoyed the hell out of this episode. From Storm literally rebooting her powers and Xavier's WTF moment when he felt Gambit's death. I also enjoyed where he took them to school he literally pulled a Jay-Z like hold up allow me to reintroduce myself lol I'm Charles Xavier B****. Either way I really enjoyed this episode and it was a refresher from last week's painful episode. But I enjoyed your breakdown of this episode. Always appreciate your hard work Grace

What was up with the Captain America shield preview?
I wish they had made it clear that the team knew Charles isn't dead. He didn't die at the end of The Animated Series. He just had to leave so he wouldn't die. I just keep getting confused when they act like he's dead when they should know he's not.
I was really hoping they would bring Cassandra Nova in as the new baddie or the return of Apocalypse to carry on the original run’s legacy.
I'm not worried, I have faith in Sinister
