- Changing out both Upper Control Arms with Ball Joints and Tie Rod Ends on my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4 X 4,
only took me a couple hours, to do both sides, I filmed the second side hopefully editing out all the boring stuff, you know like me talking to myself and trying to find tools I just had in my hand,
Started out at 38f by the time I finished it was 25f, glad I did it when I did,
I will get the front end a lined later.

Loved see this. Brought me back to helping my dad work on cars when I was younger.
that's Awesome, Thank you !
Now we need to now get Ken to use the air impact driver sound for when he is putting the screws into the faceplate to really mess with people :)
what you don't like the laser guns and hammers? don't give that mad man any ideas !!
A man with many talents.
Thank you Harold !
Some tools, some smarts, and a Can Do attitude getting it done!!
Thank You Clayton, some tools and no money you mean to pay someone else to do it ! lol
I just realized that I forgot to watch this one... Nice work, Doug!
No worries! Thank You Steve
Great job Doug did a lot them went I was working race team year a go👍👍👍👍
Thank You Scott, I lived in the junkyard when I was a kid, lol
Thank you! Love the cap idea!
You are so welcome Monica! I actually purchased those for my model A when I had to replace them all, seems grease turns to leather after many years and the little ball valves were stuck closed. it was never driven I intended to drive it so I got them to keep the dirt out.
Righty tighty indeed :). It’s always nice to have rights tools to do a job sure does make your life easier, don’t always have that pleasure .
No matter what you always get the job done. That I know from watching your channel .
Good job Doug . Hope all is well , take care.
You got that right! Thank You Angela, picked up that package !
@@outsidethepohlbarn :) you’re welcome. That’s great , I wondered if you received it.
You made that look easy
the power of editing, but it really wasn't all that bad, Thanks for watching Rick.
Man of many parts :)
Thank You Mikk, I wish there were many of me, but only one to get everything done doesn't have enough time in the day,
Doug!!!!!!!!!!!! This is awesome! How do you know how to do this, it's so cool! Wow now I know how to do it too lol Doug, don't lose count! Oh leverage bar, I need one of those. That's hard work, Doug, you should be proud of yourself! I liked the end with the dogs playing in the snow, so cute! Thanks for sharing Doug! I stayed up just to comment on here lol
Thanks so much Robin !!!! Hands on Robin that's how I learned, spent most of my younger years in a Junk yard scrounging for parts for the older cars I was able to afford to buy, use parts are also cheaper and doing it yourself is free !
Thats a lot of wrenching!! Think I’ll pick up the right size ratchet wrenchs for this job! Good job, one question though, wouldnt it be easier to thread on and off the ball joint nut if you put a second jack under the lower control arm and press the suspension up? That way the ball joint wouldnt be at such an odd angle? Thats how ive down it on my 4 wheelers in the past!
Good job done there Doug! Which way's Lucy 😂 🤣 😂 Lefty Lucy except when its Righty Lucy and Lefty Tighty which is soooo confusing for this here brain! 🧠 😅
Thank You Jude, lets not go there my first car had left hand threads on the wheels on the left side of the car, what was Dodge thinking ? well not all were left hand as I'd broken many off forgetting
Doug
Hope she goes straight!!!
Nice to see the poopies playing at the end.
Probably to soon to ask about the cheese ?
Take care!
Tim
And yes I know how to spell puppy lol
Thank You Tim, yeah the cheese has 4 months or so to age, I thought you all needed to see my pups, Sid and Annie
Wrenching with Doug. Is there nothing you can't do? LOL, don't answer that question. 👍.
Too late, I can't give Birth !!!! lol thankfully, Thanks again Dave,
That would have worn me out for days!
Me Too, Oh wait it did ! LOL Thanks Billy
Which way is Lucy? LoL 😂😆
LEFTY !!! thank you Jeanette
Dont it seem like that stuff NEVER needs replaced when the weather is sunny and 75°? I though I was the only one who had that kinda luck, and not enough money to take it to a mechanic!
Yeah never fails !! I actually had the parts waiting on a warm day, glad I did it when I did, I separated one of the Tie rods when I was braking it loose, Thanks for Watching Dave !
So, how long did it you in real time
I had 40 minutes of footage before I edited it but I think around and hour 15 minutes per side, I had issues on the passengers side,
How are you going to torque those bolts to spec with a wrench? 😂
Thank you Travis, two grunts and a groan is what I was taught, LOL close enough for government work,
@@outsidethepohlbarn lol. I used to say that too.
Spray your bolts first
Thanks again Travis
