Nutbush City Limits was released in 1973, one of the final songs Tina recorded with her husband, Ike Turner. Tina was the sole songwriter, which was not a role she usually took on. It's about her hometown of Nutbush, Tennessee. Great performer to react to... there was nobody better in concert ever. ♥
I was at this concert in 2009 (as well as the other two concerts she did at the Gelredome on that last tour). You are right, her energy is off the chart. I was standing not far from the stage and being at the show, seeing Tina, is like being hit by a hurricane. Unbelievable woman and unbelievable performer, giving every inch of her being to the performance. Tina is an absolute legend.
She and you are simply the best.Tina was almost 70 then and that was the encore after a long concert. There are many people who can sing beautifully, or dance skilfully, but nobody can put a whole show like Tina , even when she was a granny. Please check her 96 Amsterdam live concert, songs like "Goldeneye". I would love to see your reaction. Thank You very much!
First time I saw her was at Summerfest in Milwaukee, think it was '85, and she did the same thing with that big metal arm going out over the audience. She was doing "Better Be Good To Me" and had different sections of the audience singing back "good to me" and at one point she crooked her leg around part of the railing and hung off it telling the people below her to sing it! I was in that area and almost had a heart attack! LOL Boy, that was a hard one one when she passed last year.
Had the honor of seeing her in concert 5 times. She always put her background singers/dancers to shame.
Iconic!!!
That's the energy of a 69 year old Tina there!
No one can compare as a live performer.
She was actually 70 when she did this.

Yes, amazing.
A great Ike & Tina Turner song that was released in 1973. It was written by Tina whose hometown was Nutbush, Haywood County, Tennessee.
