    this tour was in 2009. Tina was nearly 70 years old and still dancing the ramp, commanding the fans, still singing and looking great. I love her grand productions. if I could go back in time to see one concert this would be it. Great reaction. So glad you loved it

    I saw her in 93' at The Greek theater in Los Angeles and it was this exact concert basically!! PHENOMENAL ! I've been to 200 rock concerts and her concert makes my top 3 favorite concerts of all time ! I was 33 then I'm 61 now ! May you RIP 🙏 Tina ! GOD LOVE YA ❤️

    Throughout my life I've been to roughly 200 rock concerts and then there's Tina Turner !! I saw her in 1993 at The Greek in Los Angeles , That concert makes my top 3 list of all time concerts !! She's in the Guinness book of world records for most attendees for a single artist in Rio de Janeiro ... 400,000 people 🤯 ... When I saw her at the Greek she got to the end of that electronical arm turned her back to the crowd hooked her leg in between the bars and threw her body off backwards and was hanging upside down from that damn thing the crowd went bazirk !!

    The musical director and keyboardist is Ollie Marland from the first version of Jah Wobble's Invaders of the Heart and the blond guitarist is John MIles who had a successful solo career in the 70's and a big hit with "Music" - he was a great live act, saw him back then. Just saw this whole show a week back on TV

    When I see Tina performing like this, I immediately think of, "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome."
    "Who run barter town? You know who. Say it! Master Blaster. Say it louder! Master Blaster!!!"
    "But he's just a raggedy man. This wasn't part of the deal!"

    71 years old and the end of a 2 hour high energy set. I'm not sure who would be able to keep up with her. 50th anniversary tour and she absolutely stormed it. Physically and vocally astounding.

    Aww.... Tina. I think she was in her 50's for this performance. She went through a lot and worked hard, she deserved everything she got with her fame and fortune. She even did backing vocals for Frank Zappa! What a lady... national treasure. Gotta love Tina.

    That must've been one expensive production! All those musicians and dancers. The light rig. The flying platform. Impressive. Tina must have great balance to run the ramp in heels and not fall off, and I noticed she did not "clip on" when on the flying platform itself either. OSHA would be upset... lol.

    Wasn't she one of Frank Zappa's back up singers once?? 🤣 Couldn't resist, sorry. Love this song but there are two cover versions everyone needs to hear. A band called Geordie did this song with their vocalist, future ACDC screamer Brian Johnson. You gotta hear it to believe it. And a little band I really love called Nashville Pussy did a fine cover too. Ike and Tina with the Ikettes were incredible!

      Wow, Geordie. I remember them. Were fairly successful in the early '70's, just before I left school. They were tied into the pop/rock scene which included the likes of Slade, T.Rex, Sweet and others which was a bit unfair on them as they were a bit earthier than those. Chaz, do you remember a similar, slightly heavier band from that period called Nazareth? They do one of my all time favourite covers, Joni Mitchell's "This flight tonight" (Another one added to my potential future requests)

    • @chazblitz
      @chazblitz 2 роки тому +1

      @@paulfenwick8767 Oh yeah! Love Nazareth! Love the song you're talking about but my favorite of theirs is Miss Misery off Hair of the Dog. The great Zal Cleminson played with them after SAHB for an album or two. Would like to see SAD react to all of the above at some point.

    I think it’s important to note here yes she was 69/70 here and this is her after being on stage for 2 hours already that night! Her farewell world tour in 2008/2009 on the road for 6 months and all stadium venues. That’s the power of Tina 🙌🏻
