Can we take a second to appreciate the time Kaylee put into this vid??? A 45 min video on all new content...geez. Love you beech! Great freaking job ♥️
Would love to see a rare plant index on syngoniums! They’re such an underrated group of plants and we tend to see the same few types at shops but they’re are some super interesting rarer ones.
I understand you did not want to be repetitive but I would have loved to see where plants from the first video would end up in this list since last year.
Just binged all your "Rare Plant Index" videos last night and was excited to see this one today! I think Philos is one of my favs but curious if Sansevieria would be a good rare plant index episode? Thanks for all the great plant content!
I'm still holding out for a sansevieria (or I guess now it would be a dracaena) RPI! Everyone has the same 3 snake plants but there are some really cool and funky ones out there.
I'm amazed at the price decrease for philodendron birkin. I just picked up a five pack of 3"-4" starter plants for $20 with free shipping on Etsy. That's seriously cheap for ANY plants! I feel bad for people who paid $100+ not that long ago!
Yeah, I got one for 85 Danish Kroner (I think) for a friend about a month ago - that's about 13$ ... I got mine for 100 dkkr (15$) a few months earlier. I still see them online for a lot more, and I feel so bad for the people paying a small fortune for this plant.
i really appreciate that your plants don’t look super perfect. growing these plants indoors/less than perfect conditions means that your leaves won’t look the best all the time, but still they are beautiful plants!
Yes, its really a sexy plant the Majesty. Here in the Phil. we call it black majesty because of its black leaf, petiole and the stem itself. Very nice! Wow na wow.,. and very easy to propagate even from its one rooted leaf. I have four plants now from 1 plant only within 10 mos. Thanks to God.
Okay, 1. Your makeup looks 🔥 Yes on the blue. 2. This is awesome to watch considering your first philodendron video basically opened my eyes to how different plants are and how beautiful they can be. Also helped kickstart my journey into philodendron, which is why I have a Gloriosum in the first place❤️ So keep on keepin on girl 😄 You are doing something special and awesome here!
I do have a campospartunaum, its velvety and it changes color from that protruding green with some bergundyish color then it grows to this dark green. I guess its like lupinum. It loses its velvetiness when it matures
I have a Camposportoanum and the leaf colouring is really varied as you said. The juvenile leaves on mine came out more fluorescent green in the veins and a greeny brown leaf. Over time as it gained it's "ears" it has gone the brownish colour of a micans while keeping the bright green veins. I believe that the mature leaves lose the brown and become more green. In short, very similar to a micans and when i put them side by side there is very little difference aside from leaf shape. I can tag you in a picture of my micans and campo next to eachother on instagram
This is honestly everything I needed today! I was having a bit of a crappy day but your videos always manage to take my mind off things and make me feel way better❤️
Amazing! I literally re-watched your first philodendron index 5 hours ago, wondering if you might make an updated one, and here we are! Just what I was hoping for
I love Camposportoanum! Absolutely one of my favorites. I'm not sure I'd call them rare in America ... just not common. They are almost a yellow/lime color with a pink/orange tint when sunstressed. If in normal lighting it's a dark olive green with red/burgandy tint. They are also velvety. The leaves start out heartshaped, like Micans, and change over time. It's pretty common to have several different shapes on your plant if not mature. They eventually become trilobed.
Hey! I own a P. Camposportoanum and it’s a plant that changes colour as it grows and as it matures. The one you showed in your video is a fully mature one with medium leaves. When they’re small they tend to be a bit yellow which turns to green. Subsequent newer leaves are pink/yellow/gold velvety leaf. They’re quite stunning and go through a bunch of leaf change
I have a Philo Camposportoanum, there's a juvenile leaf (the one you showed us) and a more mature leaf. The juvenile is velvety, has a slight red tinge to it, and comes out almost 'chubby' compared to the mature leaf. The mature leaf is 3 pointed, deep glossy green, and very symmetrical. It is the easiest plant I have cared for, absolutely beautiful, and is growing like mad now that it's spring. He's putting out 3 new leaves and I only just got him in december.
Yes to the blue eyeshadow! Especially the way you've done it, like a modern Cleopatra! Literally all the anxiety-inducing/expensive plants (philodendron lynnhannoniae, luxrians and patriciae) are on my wishlist haha, ugh! I'm surprised you didn't mention squamicaule for the fuzzy petioles, they've become quite popular. Sodiroi has also become quite sought after. I think camposportoanum is so adorable, but definitely not easy to find here in the UK/Europe, I've seen it more available in the US. I will never be able to afford a spiritus without selling an organ, so I'm more than happy to settle for an atabapoense or bernardopazii (which I think looks pretty similar to deflexum?)
I am pretty happy that I am not super crazed by some of the rare, super rare, holy plants. I only wrote down Jose Buono because it was like monstera Albo, but when I saw the one you showed I realized it could be yellow and I was like meh, another plant I have to be picky about when I buy it. I really like micans, verrucosum, melano and some of the other ones that are much easier to get, and that is fine by my wallet. It does not deter me from loving the entire video, and I thank you so much for introducing me to some new plants! I enjoy these videos sooo much!
I’d love to have one on Scindapsus Pictus and Pothos. There’s so many gorgeous varieties of them and they are easy houseplants. There’s also an interesting variety of Scindapsus called ”Silver Hero” but I couldn’t find any information of it online! Someone labeled it also as ”platinum” and someone else had theirs reverting to resemble Silvery Ann which made me wonder if this plant is a real deal or not. It is a beautiful variety though.
Hey Kaylee, I own a P. Camposportoanum. The leaves are very velvety, the "ears" of the leaves get more pronounced the more it matures. They remind me of fish illustrations in a way. New leaves do start out a little reddish sometimes, but turn pure green pretty fast. The leaf undersides are also green. The Camposportoanum is such a gorgeous plant
When you got to the birken, I immediately ordered one on etsy, after coveting it for months. Thanks for answering my burning question, 'I'm in isolation and I NEED a new plant!' 😊
Camposportoanum is really common here in NZ. It goes thru a few stages on it's way to maturity. In its juvenile stage it's very micans like in colour, but rounder at the top. Its intermediate stage is what you have shown in your vid, and the mature stage is an unremakable plain green with pronounced lobes. The intermediate form is the most interesting.
Kaylee 9 months ago about Philodendron holtonianum: "Can you tell me why this is undergoing hype at the minute? I don't get it." Kaylee now: "This is an acquired taste, I don't think everyone is going to love these. People don't talk about it. This is too cool to not put on the wall. I think it's great, I loved it the second I saw it." 😂😂😂 I love how your opinions change over time (and it really illustrates how different it can be to see a plant in person vs in pictures, that literally just happened to me two days ago). It makes me feel better about suddenly loving begonias when half a year ago I said I'd never own one!
Hi Kaylee, could you do a video maybe about what plants are now common that were previously rare. That would be helpful for people like me just entering the houseplant world so that we’re not spending more money than we should for specific plants 😳 also you look stunning with that eyeshadow ✨
Camposportoanum is awesome. Its velvety with a similar sheen to Verrucosum. Mine is basically the colour of the pic you showed. New leaves have a peachy red blush and green up as they get older. It's an around awesome plant. Not heaps common in Australia, but I only paid $35 for mine a while back. Great update. Thanks.
My favorite color is blue so yeah I love the eyeshadow 💙! I especially loved the Voldemort face 🤣! I’m so happy the Birkin finally made it to this channel. I always skipped out on it on pictures but when I saw it in person 😻 meeeooww!
Thank you for this video 😁 ! I really want to get Philodendron Patriciae even know it freaks me out a little 😅 . I would love to see R.P.I. on Raphidophoras, Pipers and Jewel Orchids 😄 . I would also love to see a video about shingling plants including care and set up ideas 😁 . Thank you for everything ♡
44:00 Some plants are rare in certain markets due to where the tissue culture labs are and whether it is under a PBR or not. For example I picked up a peperomia moonlight a few days before the peperomia index video came out for $10 at my local hardware store but I'm fairly sure the PBR is owned by an Australian company and they had recently started mass producing them domestically.
I have a philodendron camposportoanum, it's a very bright green and it's also iridescent, really gorgeous. The texture is in between velvet and leather.
I love your videos! I've gotten super into plants over the last year, and your videos have massively broadened my horizons on plants and how many cool different varieties there are! It would be awesome if you did a video on either vines or trees that can be kept as house plants.
My camposportoanum is velvety now as it's a juvenile once it matures it will loose the velvet. It's a nice mix of like green and red for coloration. It's one of my favorites 🥰
I have a camposportoanum , I fortunately found a long cutting for 35$ the juvenile leaves have a little less velvet look then a Micans , and not as much deep green and bronze but more brighter . This plant goes through , I believe 3 , very drastic growth stages . Every stage they look like a completely different plant & get very big . I highly suggest looking up the different stages , it’s mind blowing .
I own the P. camposportoanum, when they’re juvenile they have more burgundy/red leaves, but then getting more mature, they just get a deep green. They are really velvety though. New leaves still have that red colour.
A wonderful insight into rare philodendrons, sadly i cant even buy a Pink Princess here in NSW Australia, let alone any of these gorgeous plants you have just shown us-most were my cup of tea but none here down under " SIGH." Thanks for the inspiration tho Kaylee, you are so lovely and helpful! : )
I just got a red heart and immediately came back to this video to see how much info about it you gave 😆 Cause it's SO difficult to find good, legit info on them! Mine is much darker green than the picture you found, easy to assume it's black even in real life. HOWEVER they apparently hate shipping, and don't like to be very humid or moist when stressed. So ya know... mine dropped all its leaves in the first week 🙄 Hoping it bounces back nicely, but it feels like it's based largely on luck because they're way touchier than most philodendrons, and again it's so hard to find advice about them.
The Camposportanum is similar to a Lupinum in that it changes a LOT as it matures! Immature leaves look a lot like micans, and the mature plant loses the velvety-ness and gets green lobed leaves. Mine isn't fully mature, but the leaves grow in a light bronze color and fade to green. It's so fun to watch it grow, I love mine!
Have you seen Silver Krome Private Plant Collection on Summer Rayne Oakes channel? I fist saw your vid, then that and I was amazed!!! So many from the plants on your list are found in bill's collection and they are humongous! So gorgeous!
Kaylee Ellen, please know that what you do is important ! to those of us who love plants this is a great retreat from the problems of the world!!! I absolutely adore listening to you talkI have learned a lot and it totally immerse has my mind and to the world of plantsand out of away from a complete mind break from the problems of covid-19 politics etc !!! *( maybe think about not taking about the topics of the world, , , although I love to hear your opinion I go to you when I don't want to hear about the world and politics and it's problems ) love you luv your show. I've learned a lot
I am loving your videos Kaylee Ellen! I have added 3 philodendrons to my wishlist thanks to this video and I can't find any of them available for sale!! El Choco, Majesty, and Lupinum! They all feel pretty rare to me right now haha.
Love your vids. Keep it up. And no need to feel like you’re repeating yourself these videos are amazing as is your passion. Always learn a lot from you and look forward to more videos. Maybe in a years time we’ll get another philo rare plant index im already keen to know what’s next. Love from Australia
Managed to get hold of P. dark lord last winter, stunning plant! I'm lucky to know a private collector down south in England who had just imported some. Was steal of a price as well!
First off, I love these videos! Thank you! I have found several plant babies that I am so excited about due to these videos. Secondly, how does your hair look so great?! I’ve been in quarantine for eight weeks and its not good 😅.
Gigas has been on my wishlist for a few years now and I finally splurged and got one today. For some reason I prefer it heaps to the melanochrysum even though I love that as well. The longer velvety hearts are just perfection. Here’s to hoping mine does well getting to me from Cali to Va in this day and age 🤞
Could someone explain what is meant by not liking the "Growth Pattern" for the philodendron red heart at 13:30 ish? Honestly the plant looks amazing but I have no idea what to expect from it having a weird growth pattern.
Can we take a second to appreciate the time Kaylee put into this vid??? A 45 min video on all new content...geez. Love you beech! Great freaking job ♥️
Wow, I had no idea it was 45 minutes it went by so fast I've lost track of time.
yesssss thank you
Such a great video! Thank you for saying this.
Would love to see a rare plant index on syngoniums! They’re such an underrated group of plants and we tend to see the same few types at shops but they’re are some super interesting rarer ones.
I bet she is working on that now hehehe. Just need confirmation if you are. 👍
YESSS I love Syngoniums!
Well. . . Thetes literally ONE type of sy.gonoum in austrian shops 😱
I m sure the pink ones would sell like crazy
I 2nd this!
I would love one for Syngoniums too!! :) great job on the others too, they are extremly helpfull!
30 seconds in just want to say I am enamoured by the blue!! The top, the eyes it's all so beautifullll
I understand you did not want to be repetitive but I would have loved to see where plants from the first video would end up in this list since last year.
I feel you - perhaps if people are interested in that I might do a random tuesday video on it :)
@@KayleeEllenOfficial that's a great idea for one of those "small extras" videos you mentioned in your repot with me a few weeks ago.
I say bring it on! 😁 I used the original list when I was working on my own ultimate wishlist. Thanks. X
Yes to this!!!
@@KayleeEllenOfficial Do it! It's so interesting seeing what happens with plants trends over time.
Can you do a spotlight on velvet leaf plants? I know variegation is still the hot thing, but some of us go for velvet!
Okay I'll give that a go soon 😁
@@KayleeEllenOfficial OMG! You just made my day. Thank you!!
Just binged all your "Rare Plant Index" videos last night and was excited to see this one today! I think Philos is one of my favs but curious if Sansevieria would be a good rare plant index episode? Thanks for all the great plant content!
Meagan Weschenfelder it would, there’re over 70 different types of sansevieria, it’d be interesting to see a breakdown.
@@skyscope8409 the Sansevieria have been reclassified as Dracaenas now🤗
@@oishd6077 I didn't realize that! Thanks for the info! 👍👍 So can we do a rare plant index for Dracaena including Sansevieria than ?! 😉🤞
@@justj_design ofc why not! There are so many cool new cultivars!
This Jeffree Star Blue Blood eyeshadow look is so good Kaylee omg
I think an orchid rare plant index would be bomb!
Dora Kolin Yes please! 👏🙌
I second this!
You'd probably want to parse them out by cattleya, phalenopsis, dendrobium, etc., but I'd be all for those!
YAAS
Kaylee doesn’t seem to be into orchids... but I love them so I would love to see this!
I got into orchids for awhile.. it's like the orchid world and the rest of the plant world are two different things! So weird.
I'm still holding out for a sansevieria (or I guess now it would be a dracaena) RPI! Everyone has the same 3 snake plants but there are some really cool and funky ones out there.
Oh yes, please!!😀
Yes I love all the cool uncommon snake plants!!
Hello Kaylee, thank you for using my picture of the Philo Red Moon :) Have a nice day :)
sis came thru! 45 NEW philodendron in a rare plant index, holy wow my wish list just got a lot bigger
I'm amazed at the price decrease for philodendron birkin. I just picked up a five pack of 3"-4" starter plants for $20 with free shipping on Etsy. That's seriously cheap for ANY plants! I feel bad for people who paid $100+ not that long ago!
There all some people trying to get a lot for them too!

Sis, don't tease us with that price and not include a link, tho...
I sell birkins for 10$- 15$ depending on how big or small they are :) I live in Canada :p
i really appreciate that your plants don’t look super perfect. growing these plants indoors/less than perfect conditions means that your leaves won’t look the best all the time, but still they are beautiful plants!
lol every time Kaylee says "you're going to love it or you're going to hate it"...and I love it...freaks for life.
New shirt suggestion: “the party is in the petiole”
HAHAHAH
How about “I get off watching leave’s unfurl” lmao
Hey Kaylee, this video is a killer. WELL done!! would you consider leaving the plants’ names on the screen a little longer in future indexes?
Okay,
1.
Your makeup looks 🔥
Yes on the blue.
2.
This is awesome to watch considering your first philodendron video basically opened my eyes to how different plants are and how beautiful they can be. Also helped kickstart my journey into philodendron, which is why I have a Gloriosum in the first place❤️
So keep on keepin on girl 😄
You are doing something special and awesome here!
A 45 minute-long video? I am living and here for it! Pen and notebook in hand, writing down notes!
I do have a campospartunaum, its velvety and it changes color from that protruding green with some bergundyish color then it grows to this dark green. I guess its like lupinum. It loses its velvetiness when it matures

Awesome rare plant index vid! I would like to see one of Aglaonema 💚🌱
Bieke De Klerck yes! Chinese Evergreens and philodendrons are my all time fav. Mostly for variety, but I can actually keep them alive lol.

Kasey Lynne have u staked yours out of curiosity? I have withe mine but I see see one vine
I agree with you when you say Patricae is hard to take care of. Definitely one of my hardest plants to deal with currently 😢.
Blue is lovely on you! Fabulous videos… brand new fan!
I got a baby Black Majesty and I am so excited to watch it grow. It is soooo pretty and adorable. Has a new leaf coming in and I am in love.
Omg, I totally agree with you on Paraiso Verde. Messy is the perfect way to describe them.
Have you seen Silver Krome Private Plant Collection on Summer Rayne Oakes channel? I fist saw your vid, then that and I was amazed!!! So many from the plants on your list are found in bill's collection and they are humongous! So gorgeous!
Now that I’ve watched this video I’m just obsessed with two things : philodendrons and this blue eyeshadow.

Managed to get hold of P. dark lord last winter, stunning plant! I'm lucky to know a private collector down south in England who had just imported some. Was steal of a price as well!
I f*cking love your makeup! Your eyeshadow looks amazing!!
Your most beautiful than Rarest philodendron Kylle Ellen. Thanks the amazing info for these plants. I love these plants.
Here’s to hoping mine does well getting to me from Cali to Va in this day and age 🤞
loved it! This comment is also a formal request for a Syngonium Rare Plant Index :) Please
All throughout the video I was looking at your eye shadow (good way) 😉 as usual a very informative video.
Well, my wishlist just had a growth spurt. Philodendrons are the plants I love the most, off to try and hunt some down now!
Could someone explain what is meant by not liking the "Growth Pattern" for the philodendron red heart at 13:30 ish? Honestly the plant looks amazing but I have no idea what to expect from it having a weird growth pattern.
