Graphics aren't that important. Well maybe these days. But growing up the mechanics mattered more and thats how it should be.

Exactly! That was one of the funnest things about this game!! It's one of the main reasons why I keep replaying it to this day. I really hate that they completely removed that feature after 08, if only they kept on improving on it... just imagine the adventure.
It was more unique and realistic. Characters like Rey Mysterio or Jeff hardy couldnt suplex Kane or Mark Henry. Now its crazy that Rey Mysterio could give Kane the 3 amigos 😂

The reason the belt no longer spins in recent games is because in real life, the wwe championship didn’t spin any more.

@@TCTrapCat could be that or they didn't want the championship coming across as a toy. It was gimmicked for Thuganomics Cena as a custom belt originally.
It looked cheap but also the logo would always end up upside down on the belt. Not a good look for your brand you want to keep. Probably made the right call to have the logo locked upright.@@TCTrapCat

I recently sat down and emulated all of these classic games since I've never played them, dang I really missed out. These games are absolute fire, My personal favorite is SVR '06 but I can't deny that SVR '07 is pretty fire as well.
To be fair, SvR really was leaning into trying to make playing on Raw branded or SmackDown branded arenas feel unique, meanwhile now the games are just celebrations of the WWE as a whole.
Backstage brawl was at its finest in wwe svr 07, so sad that is not today😔
You can irgnore rope break in WWE2K24 too. You have to turn off automatic Rope Break in the Menu
You can't ignore rope breaks in 2k24, automatic rope break in 2k24 is only for the one locked in the move. Who ever is applying the move has to left go of the rope when rope break is called you can't be disqualified for not breaking it.

I think most of us can agree, game companies used to produce games with pride and care about quality and creativity, now they just care about money and leave the quality and creativity out

Not being able to do Diving finisher from the ladder or chamber pod is the worst. I used to finish my chamber matches that way in 2k16

SVR 07 is childhood
SvR07 was one of the best games i grew up playing on the psp. The story lines, plus so much more made you want to keep playing the game. I have it on PC & it runs smooth on the emulator!😆

Exactly why I still play all the old wrestling games till this day, I brought 2k24 this year but it’ll be my last 2k game I purchased. The older games are just a lot more fun than the new ones.

07 is my favorite wrestling game. The story mode was long could go on forever. The commentary would never get old. And the soundtrack was peek

Wwe 2k really needs to ditch the whole copy and paste and PG crap and step up instead of just throwing in patches and just have the same stuff every year at least yukes and thq wwe games were badass and just too good to play even in 2024 wwe 2k will never beat the good old SVR games that's for sure

I wondered if these newer games could actually do half the things I remember were possible back in the day.
And I'm not surprised that they can't.
They focused on graphics. But hair of triple h still looks laughable. Still looks cartoony.
And the gameplay is worse on top of it. Pretty much across the board.
On the other hand you could literally just upscale svr, improve lighting a bit, and voilà.
Plus these newer games are like 150gigs, while the old ones are like 4 gigs max.
All svr games combined don't make even near 150gb. So it's more practical on basically every level. If you want to have fun, the choice is clear.
Not only were the og games fun, and packed with content. They also didn't constantly try to sell you some crap.
Modern games not are only lacking everything, they're charging for things that you used to get by default back then.
And even if you buy it all, you still don't have the same depth that you used to back then.
It really is wild how gaming industry turned to dookie.
brother, i agree with you on every other point except your 3rd one. my guy... PS2 was made 24 years ago, Most of them weren't even in HD. Current games take so much space due to hundreds of reasons, PS2s weren't even functionally close to TWENTY gigabytes, let alone more. But yeah.
Personally I don't miss intergender matches. I never really played them.
Also the wrestlers not moving on the matchup screen makes sense, WWE stopped doing that.
I don't miss Buried Alive match, Casket pretty much fills that spot for me.
Not using wrestlers in MyRise is fine with me, but I do wish the superstar variant of Universe mode was more fleshed out.
And the spinner belt stopped spinning over a decade ago.

These old games were on crack, they were so ahead of their time that it doesn't make any sense. The amount of features, attention to detail and interactive stuff they added completely towers any other 2k game. And don't even get me started on here comes the pain.

Absolute #1 thing SVR 07 did better then ANY other wwe game to the best of my knowledge, was the unlimited tables glitch, I’d set up tables for hours just to smash my opponent though them all then end the match
The whole cool factor of the spinner belt was that it could spin. If you can't do that then change the title look, it's just not worth pretending to be cool when it can't do the thing that makes it cool.
Especially since it’s called the “Spinner” belt even on their own website lol

Nah not really it’s mid and gets boring after the first two weeks of play through. Basically the video is implying how there’s realistic movements and things in a old ass game and comparing it to a newer game that should have those features in them, and I don’t get me wrong 2k24 is way better than 20-23 but it just doesn’t hit the same you know what I mean?

I still didn't beat 22, 23 or 24 fully they are better than pervious games but they still suck. Backstage sucks, going in crowd sucks, and they still don't have as much weapons that THQ has done. And WWE 13 THQ last wrestling game still has one of greatest rosters ever.

2K24 even doesn't have a motion that wrestlers grab the rope! Are they serious? Also, in 2007, the weight of wrestlers mattered so Rey Mysterio couldn't 't lift the Big Show, which made the game more realistic.
2k24 is a fighting game, not a wrestling game lol. I will stand by this until they readd promos, weight detection, more animations and chain wrestling back.
