For me: 7. SvR 09 6. SvR 08 5. SvR 10 4. SvR 11 3. SvR 2. SvR 07 1. SvR 06 The thing about this franchise is that starting with SvR 08 the series lost something. I don't know what to call it other than its "Soul". That intangible thing that made us love wrestling games so much, that kept us coming back daily, for months on end (or in the case of even older games, playing the entire year until the next one came out). So while something like SvR 11 was an improvement over games like 08 and 09 in terms of features...it still felt like a soulless experience, and frankly...as someone who has played every WWE game since right up to 2K23, it never got that soul back. These games are fun for what they are...but that thing that used to grab you and not let go, has been gone longer than it was around. EDIT: I typed out my comment before seeing this full list. Nice to see we're on the same page.
@@heliosazuria Highly disagree. I was one of those people wanting this franchise to go more simulation based as well but...all these years later, I realized that was a mistake. I just don't enjoy the games like I used to...everything pre-SvR 08 were incredible games that I still go back to now. I prefer the games being pure fun...I miss that.
@@TheViper4Life oh no im not saying CONCEPTUALLY simulation is bad, for instance, gm mode is extremely fun. the way it was executed in almost exclusively focusing on the "realism" and instead opting for almost cutscene-like automation for specific things took away the soul from a gameplay perspective. thats just my opinion though
It’s not the games. The WWE in general lost its soul when the ruthless aggression era ended. It lost its edge and grittier style. The games reflected that.
The first Smackdown vs Raw was the first time I was disappointed in the series and felt like it took a big step back, but I was utterly let down by SvR 08. The roster was terrible and they absolutely gutted the game of moves for some inexplicable reason. Not only that, they limited the available moves to the fighting styles as well. The fighting styles gimmick got old really quick, as did the new weapons spots, like the flaming barbed wire bat and tables. There was just nothing to keep me coming back like most of the previous entries. Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes The Pain kept me coming back daily for a whole year until the next game in the series dropped. I stopped playing SvR 08 after like 5 or 6 weeks and only revisited it right before SvR 09 dropped. I was poor, and still playing the PS2 when SvR 11 dropped. I barely played that game for a month. Every game since is more or less the same thing though. There's enough new flashy gimmicks to keep my attention for a month or so. The core gameplay is what matters most, and it's always so lacking later in the series. I just wanna be able to jump into exhibition and right into a match and have enough different things to do each time to keep me coming back.
Played them all since WWF Smackdown on PSone. HCTP was my favourite, followed SvR 2007, but SvR 2010 will always be a personal highlight as I got it when I bought my PS3.
Happy to see your fav was 06’. I owned the original smackdown and smackdown 2, then went a few years inbetween buys. I picked up 06’ and was happy I did. I still remember rushing through season mode on both sides to unlock austin and the rock. I spent a lot of my time playing the title bout match due to it keeping track of who had it number of titles won, defended, etc. loved that game, so happy you made this video, it reminded me of good times. Keep up the good work!! 👍
SVR 2010 did have the grapple ultimate control moves, but they now had a regular move set slot rather than a designated one like the previous entries. It’s possible your wrestler wouldn’t have one, but you could add it in Create-A-Moveset
SmackDown vs Raw 2010 will always be my favorite game. The Road to WrestleMaina was good playing as either John Cena or Triple H, Randy Orton, Edge, Mikki James (ehh) or your created wrestler. And the finishers were awesome too as they would go in slow motion. I know a lot of people like SvsR ‘07 but 2010 was something special to me.
You forget to mention, the one of the best things in SvR 2006 is that you can use Stone Cold in Season Mode.. that was mind blowing in that period. Imagine playing with your favourite wrestler of all time in all season mode (in both smackdown and raw side) with original voices. In the other hand SvR 2007 had the best soundtrack ever 🎉🎉🎉❤ Both game should be in 1st place in my opinion.
I always love SVR, 06, and 07 the most. Being in my early teens. I would decorate my SVR07 locker room with Divas cutouts, posters, and banners. The season mode for SVR07 was goated.
Up until the dying days of Parsec, I was regularly hosting sessions of SVR 06, HCTP and occasionally SVR 07. These are are definitely my 3 favorite games from the PS2 releases and that being said, I feel like the ultimate game would have been a combination of the three: - HCTP's (complete) roster, stage space (being able to climb down the stage or throw people off of it) and backstage areas (I loved using codes to where you could go backstage during any match type) -SVR 06's gameplay speed and unique mini games (pre-match, sleeper hold, and double down mini games) -SVR 07's gameplay (crowd brawling, quick grapples, and ultimate control moves; preferably with the D control scheme) Bonus inclusion: SVR 11's weapon physics, D throws, and aerial move detection
the dying days of parsec? i only first heard about parsec about a year ago, and just now installed it 2 days ago...how have i never heard about it prior to that??
SVR09 was fairly different on the Wii. It was very fun and is certainly a hidden gem. WestlinGifs also had similar thoughts on 09 until he tried out the Wii version.
@@corbjones2738 Yes, in 09 you could make the wrestlers do different taunts/gestures during the entrance with the usage of the wii remote's motion controls. You also wrestle and unleash finishers with simplified motion controls.
It would be so much better though if the Wii continued making WWE games with the Wrestlemania/Day of Reckoning engine. There was no good reason that Smackdown vs Raw had to be the only series on all game systems. It was so much better when each platform had it's own unique series of games (PS2 - Smackdown. Xbox - RAW. Gamecube - Day of Reckoning)
I looked forward to these days back between 2003 to 2008. Even though I had a Gamecube, I never played any of the games there. I played solely on PS2. Before that, it was N64 and PS1. Fun times.
I always preferred SvR 2006 over 2007 purely because the former had Andre the Giant as a playable character. He's my favorite wrestler and I was disappointed he was removed from the games for so long.
Til this day 2 complaints about Wwe games are still relevant: SvR '07 had the best graphics, and they still overcomplicate and change the controls every year.
This might be the first ranking video of the SmackDown vs. RAW video game series that I agree with completely. I think what gives SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 the edge over 07 is that the gameplay is faster and, personally, I love the season mode just a bit more because of the whole ECW invasion storyline. It was brilliant, and just about every aspect of the game was highly addictive.
I’d have to agree with you for the number two and number one spot SVR 2006 was slightly better with the perfect amount of unlockable’s for the locker room and the game itself and I feel like season mode was better too. I miss in those two games you can customize your locker room which was awesome it was so unique
Ultimate grapples were also a tool for cheaters online as a front chin lock couldnt be reversed or broken once they put it on you meaning they could front chin lock you until your head is red with damage
My first wrestling game was SvR 07, and I absolutely loved it. I remember feeling quite let down with SvR 08, and then found a used copy of SvR 06 for next to nothing and thought "Oh well, might as well try it", and I ended up enjoying 06 almost as much as I enjoyed 07. SvR 2011 is the only one of the newer entries that really stood out to me - I absolutely loved playing around with all the physics stuff. So those three (06, 07, 11) ended up being my most-played games in the series by far Haven't bought any of the games since WWE 12 (Which I did buy and very much enjoyed) though. 13 and 14 seemed like absolutely nothing had changed since 12, and the story modes weren't original stories anymore. 15 and 16 seemed like major changes, but also seemed like they had very little content, and most of the games since then have lootboxes and s*** from what I've seen?
After playing all these games recently I’d have to say the best are 2006 and 2007 and the weakest games in the series are 2008 and 2009. 2006: Had a great roster, a good variety of legends, the gameplay was fun, season mode was good, it introduced GM Mode, and had a good variety of match types to play. 2007: My personal favorite but it had a good roster, great legends selection, season mode was once again good, GM Mode was even better, it introduced ultimate control moves, the ladder match mini game, and had a good variety of matches to play. 2008: Had a small roster, a terrible season mode that made no sense half the time, the gameplay got limited due to fighting styles so most wrestlers played the same, and it combined GM and season mode for no reason. The introduction of flaming weapons and ECW was really cool though I can’t lie and is my favorite part of the game. 2009: Had no legends, removed season mode, removed GM Mode, and there wasn’t anything to do after RTWM. It felt like a beta to SvR 2010.
Well 2009 suck but just because they made Legends of Wrestlemania at the same time. Nice that we can have both legends and svr game roster in the same time tho.Even tho gameplay was bad .
@@cez458 It would’ve made more sense for THQ to let you port the legends from Legends of Wrestlemania over to 2009 instead of vice versa. I think Legends of Wrestlemania was a good idea in concept but poorly executed.
2009 should have the reverse option to import the legends of Leg of Wrestlemania into 2009 so both game have both roster its would have upgrade SvsR09 to a nutch more !!!
SvR 2009 had lots of features cut because it was in the midst of development when the '08 stock market crash happened. They haphazardly released it a month after the crash. Iirc both Yuke's and THQ had to retrench 15% of employees to stay profitable.
In svr you could play with a friend and if you picked up a ladder (or table) and he hit you with a quick punch the character would drop the ladder. With this method you could stand sideways to a table or the commentator desk and the ladder would fall on top of it. This was insanely fun to do and way better than the intended stacking that was later introduced in svr07 or svr08. We had so much fun stacking things it was amazing. I also how we would spent minutes to counter each other until someone would not time the counter lmao
I always liked in svr 08, the little promos you would get before your ppv matches on 24/7 mode. They werent super special but they were a nice touch to the mode.
Having played them all.. 2006 was the best. And still playing to this day. It had almost everything.. best roster, best CAW engine, 2 WM arenas, lots of game modes, balanced combination of arcade and simulation gameplay. And more importantly.. its highly hackable.
SVR07 SVR11 SVR08 SVR10 SVR SVR06 SVR09 Icl this my list. They was all good but I remember 09 being the worst, 07/8 was the best 11 road to mania, 10 was the creation, 06 I had on psp so it doesn’t hit the same n SVR the original is goated

The downside to SVR 2007 GM Mode was that you couldn't have face vs face or heel vs heel rivalries. there should have been some storylines for those types of rivalries in the GM MOde. Imagine building two big faces , keeping them apart till WrestleMania and then have them faceoff at WrestleMania. You can't do that in SVR 2007. The options to edit overalls, yurning morale off are nice additions to the GM Mode tho.
my man, i wasn't expecting 06 being at the 1st spot. i agrre completely with the list. normally i have am internal conflict choosing between 06 & 07. not disappointed at all. 06, for me, is the more nostalgic of the series. i don't know if it's the presentation of the menus with the playlist, but even the season mode is more grounded... idk i completely agree
The best controls are on the 2008, where you run with LB/L1. the other controls are the same as 2007 which are very good, but the Y/triangle to run is not good.
SVR 07 wasn’t my first WWE game I actually played the first SVR a lot but something about 07 made me like it more.
I grew up with all of the SVR games but it’s just something about SvR 2011 that still sits with me. Definitely my favorite game oat
SVR09 best gameplay loved the roster just wish it had GM Mode
SvR 2009 had lots of features cut because it was in the midst of development when the '08 stock market crash happened. They haphazardly released it a month after the crash. Iirc both Yuke's and THQ had to retrench 15% of employees to stay profitable.
Nostalgic Vibes, Childhood, Memories for sure, no debate whatsoever... 🙆🏻♂️☯️✌️
We agree
SD! vs RAW 2006
Is in another level of fun
Masterpiece

9:19 the BGM ❤❤❤❤ from Sonic adventure battle 2 metal harbor
Solid video dude. I appreciated the SA2 music!
Svr 07 didint have double KO feature and the weight detection was way worse than in Svr 06, which is my fauvorite.
SVR 2006 was my shit.🔥🔥🔥
I agree with the list for the most part. I'd put 08 dead last personally, so switch it with 09 and I'd put the first svr game below 11 and 10.
They’re all GREAT! Love WWE games pre-2K15
tony hawk and wrestling games on the same channel feels oddly perfect
I always liked in svr 08, the little promos you would get before your ppv matches on 24/7 mode. They werent super special but they were a nice touch to the mode.
Having played them all.. 2006 was the best. And still playing to this day. It had almost everything.. best roster, best CAW engine, 2 WM arenas, lots of game modes, balanced combination of arcade and simulation gameplay. And more importantly.. its highly hackable.
SVR07
SVR11
SVR08
SVR10
SVR
SVR06
SVR09
Icl this my list. They was all good but I remember 09 being the worst, 07/8 was the best 11 road to mania, 10 was the creation, 06 I had on psp so it doesn’t hit the same n SVR the original is goated
SVR 2006 is a phenomenal game but SVR 2007 needs to be in a museum as a national treasure
Svr 2007 has this issue that momentum bar gets filled so quickly. Can I adjust that somehow. Because the matches end so quickly
SVR 2006 cover belongs in a museum.
1:35 how to access this tutorial on svr11. I played svr11 on ps2 and had to learn the move itself😢 can someone tell me how
I fw your stuff man
Do you know what the event in that picture in the background of season mode for the original Smackdown versus Raw is?
I Will Never Forget When I Chose to Receive SVR Over San Andreas 🤣🤣 . SVR 07 was the best to me only cuz i Skipped 06. Throwing ppl out the ring in the RR wit Ultimate Control was GOLDDD
I was 8 when the OG Smackdown Vs Raw Dropped. As a kid nothing else was better.
I wish these games were available on current gen. Me & my friends stopped playing this series after svr 06… I did briefly play 07 but I wouldn’t count that as a full experience. Would love if they added svr 07 to 11 in the PlayStation store.
Dude the background music in the video. What song is that called it sounds SO nostalgic but I can’t put my fingers on it
If you are talking about the music at the beginning of the video, it is the music from the Sonic Mega Collection game on PlayStation 2.
2011 is my fav cause they added realistic table breaks and directional moves etc
8:26 how do you put ladder like that
circle/B button
The AKI games had the title change on Exhibition. So it either originated from them, or from the older Fire Pro games. Not sure.
in ps3/x360 version of wwe 2011, you can't climb on announcer table, but in ps2 you can, how come?
The kick outs in 07 was insane, but the soundtrack was classic
Svr 11 is my favorite of all time. It’s everything over the years of svr culminating in one game before rebranding to wwe 12
Could you list all the songs that you played in the video? 🙏
If 06 was the one where eddie went stealing the undertaker urn then that’s my favorite idk why but i remember playing that story Hellaaa when i was a kid lol. W THQ n Yukes man miss them mfs
From worst to best WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw games in my own opinion:
1. WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008
2. WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009
3. WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw
4. WWE Smackdown! Vs. Raw 2010
5. WWE Smackdown! Vs. Raw 2006
6. WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2007
7. WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011
Best Wrestling games are Smackdown 2, Here comes the Pain ( 🐐 ) and SVR 06 (07).
I'll always have a soft spot for SVR08 because I could literally play that gm mode forever. I was obsessed... sigh good times
I have to say 2007 was and still is my favorite
Svr 2008 and 2010 were the best wwe games imo i still remember the childhood memories coming home from school booting it up
I was not ready for that RVD dash cam cut away💀
"Robbed" Van dam😏
Yeah SVR 06 mad3 number 1 on my list as well. I didnt start collecting abd playing wrestling games until my early 30,s. So I don't have any childhood nostalgia or bias.

Can you rank every wwe 2k game from worst to best.
Excellent video, I agree with you SVR 2006 is the best of all them
Needed this video im going to buy smackdown vs raw 2011 for the 360 soon is there any other svr I should consider?
I’m still tryna figure out how to grapple on ewe 2k14
SvR 2007, SvR 2010, and SvR 2011 are the ones I liked the most and a few of the 2K games, and I also liked WWE All Stars
Can you please do wwe 2k ranked including 12 and 13
I hope you do a video on your thoughts of Day of Reckoning 1 + 2! DOR 2 is my favorite wrestling game!
This is definitely coming eventually!
my man, i wasn't expecting 06 being at the 1st spot. i agrre completely with the list. normally i have am internal conflict choosing between 06 & 07. not disappointed at all. 06, for me, is the more nostalgic of the series. i don't know if it's the presentation of the menus with the playlist, but even the season mode is more grounded... idk
i completely agree
The best controls are on the 2008, where you run with LB/L1. the other controls are the same as 2007 which are very good, but the Y/triangle to run is not good.
SVR 07 wasn’t my first WWE game I actually played the first SVR a lot but something about 07 made me like it more. The stamina system although annoying kept the matches somewhat paced, I also played SVR 07 so much my the disk ended up getting so scratched it didn’t work no more. It was a sad time but thankfully I can come back to it through emulators whenever I want to play with my friends.
I’ve only played your top 4 here and I’d have put them in the exact same order. I was in 5th grade when SVR 06 came out and I played that sumbitch after school for hours every single day. Actually took my SVR 06 game case to an indy show in college and got it signed by JR. Great memories
Ray mastro jr??!?
