Ryan Urlacher. Hello Ryan I just instal the FP3 on my 2016 Ultra limites following your video. But I am receiving a error when I am trying to do my first map, actually 2, the first I can find the opinion of high airflow on the menu and the second I receive the message ( map steam was corrupted. Checksum is wrong. Process did not complete. ) any ideas.
I just put the FP3 on my 2016 Ultra Limited with Stage 1. First I can find the option for High Flow filter and when trying to do the first map received an error ( mapStream was corrupted. Checksum is wrong. Process did not complete. )Any ideas ?

Hello Ryan. Thanks and yes I already put the fuel pack. Have to return the first one it was a bad unit with wipeout the software on the bike. Towed to the shop and let then to put the new one. Merry Christmas and hope you guys rebuild the store really soon.

Excellent video. I had my bike hooked up with a
map downloaded and flashed for the new configuration in 15 minutes. More power, better throttle response and it got rid of all the decel popping.

+Ryan Urlacher Just a head's ip - they updated the interface recently. The lightning bolt flash option is no longer in autotune - just says stop autotune or apply & continue. Still very similar and your video helped substantially, even with the interface changes.

got one on my 2016 heritage ran auto tune first time and got almost all green on my map. i had one on my old bike 2014 sportster 1200c xl and never could get a good auto tune but my new bike first time i ran it about 500 miles runs like a scalded dog. FP3 LOVE IT
After viewing this video you convinced me to get V & H FP3 and a new set of BAD ASS slip-ons come next week. Thanks so much for spending my hard earned $!!!

I recently had my local shop (not Harley) install a set of V&H dresser duals on my SG and after the install the bike started backfiring & popping and needed a retune. I have the SE tuner, SE air intake, slip ons and apparently after to talking to my local Harley in town they no longer will retune using my existing SE tuner. They wanted me to buy another tuner. No thanks!! sorry to go on and rant but Im a little pissed. So after watching this very detailed video a few times I ordered a FP3 tuner it should be here by next Wednesday...thanks again Ryan. I'm looking forward to installing this FP3 and saying Good bye to the Harley dealership for doing absolutely nothing for me...
Would love to see you update this video. There's been a TON of upgrades to this unit, all for the better! I know, I recently bought one for my 2019 R K Special. Paired with my Arlen Ness Deep Cut Monster Sucker, Vance & Hines power duals and SVT Boneshaker Extreme slipons. I am beyond happy with the V&H Fuelpak3. Super easy to install and use. There are the naysayers on this product, but there will ALWAYS be naysayers! As many as there are different bikes out there. Keep on keepin' on Urlacher (is that name of German origin??) Your videos grew on me...I LOVE em! Even just bought an air pressure gauge from ur store!
Thanks for your review on the FP3, I bought mine this March with power duals and slash rounds (on a 14 Ultra Classic). You have convinced me that I need to do a AutoTune session. Love the live data; use it all the time. I also give the FP3 5 Stars!

I just ordered an FP3 for my '19 King. Looking forward to installing this on my bike after new slip-ons and intake. Plan on installing new header pipes next week

I just installed the V&H FP3 on my 2020 softail. I have an S.E. free flow air filter and S.E. slipons. I didn't notice much more power but much crisper throttle and runs smoother and cooler. Easy to follow instructions as well.
They flashed my 2014 ultra ltd. at the shop where I purchased bike this week. Came installed already. She's a screaming eagle now. Can't believe the power and response. I go wow while riding. Thanks for your info and tips. Sold is right.

The best add on fuel management system i’ve ever owned is the FP3. Been on my bike two years now, simple, efficient and priced right along with Vance & Hines keeping it up to date. Recommended for all but all out race bikes.

I took out the cat on a 16 flhtcu,put a stage 1 on,and cobra neighbor haters. V&H told me autotune wouldn't work as well. But I did a 200 mile autotune anyway. It showed a ton of green cells, will ride today to see if there's a difference 😁 Thanks Ryan 👍
Thanks man im in western CO i got the fp3 as a xmas gift to myself. Happy end to all holidays. Truth be hold im waiting to install my Arlen ness stage 1 air cleaner in corporation with crusher maverick slip ons. I bought all the toys just waiting for warmer weather to do the dam thing. I want my bike accurate. And once I get some rubber on the road I will get to play.. Thank you for the info. I am avid rider but most bike riders dont know where to start. But I have a firm grip thanks to you.

Just saw your other post about the exhaust stud. What did you end up doing?
I have a FP3 on my 15 RGU SE. I bought 2 yrs old. It had been cammed, with Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust. I assumed it had been tuned but no tuner was included with the bike. I autotuned it. I repeat that periodically. A later version of the software add an option to reduce exhaust pop when backing of the throttle. Nice feature. HD mostly just blows in tested packages. This has saved dozens of dyno pulls.
I ordered everything yesterday lol so much for waiting till April!!! lol

I have been wanting to get a set of Vance & Hines short shots on my 2014 Street Bob. I stopped at my local dealership yesterday to get pricing quotes and they told me that Screaming Eagle didn't make a tuner that could accurately reprogram my bike to run those pipes. They never mentioned the FP3. That sounded bogus to me so when I got home I started researching everything and found out about the FP3. This thing will end up saving me a bunch of money since I won't need to pay their labor charges to install the pipes and I won't need to have it dyno'd. Great info in this video.
Dealers sell bike tuning services and this product lowers demand/need for those services. They will not suggest it and trash it if you do. What they probably meant is that the S/E tuner didn't have a downloadable map for your pipes so they suggest a dyno tune which is nonsense for a pipes only mod. If you are running a stock airbox, you really don't need a retune. Your bike will run fine with the V&H pipes and stock ECM mapping. Install a high volume air-cleaner and you need to retune.
Great video! Extremely informative from beginning to end for anyone looking to buy a FP3. My only question is, why doesn't the app ask about the air cleaner? My personal opinion I would figure it's more important information to know the engines intake (whether its stock element or an advanced breather) rather than just asking about the pipes?
I just installed my FP3 last night along with a big sucker cleaner, hoping to take it out today for its maiden voyage.

Ryan excellent videos you do and that's why I ordered the FP3. I know some dealers are up tight about aftermarket tuners and head pipes. I live in Texas and have gone to several dealers and some of them sale aftermarket tuners ,head pipes etc. I really don't know what the warranty fear-mongering is all about . I just ordered a V&H power dual and Bassani DNT for my 2017 SGS. Keep up the great videos and ride safe .

Excellent video! I just bought one for my 2017 Street Bob (the last Dyna!). I spent a couple hours doing an auto-tune, and I was *shocked* at how bad my tuning drifted in the 18 months that I had the bike. I swapped out the stock mufflers for Straight Shot slip-ons, kept my stock air cleaner. When I installed the FP3 it complained that things were *way* out of whack. After two hours, the bike sounds and behaves like new! What I find interesting is auto-tuning is something you can keep doing , and it'll keep adjusting from where things are, to where things ought to be. I'm a left-brain guy, so analytics and logic are everything to me - this device is nicely designed but *how* it does what it was shocking to me. It just all made sense as soon as I dug in to study it. There are a couple issues, which I plan to feed back to Vance & Hines. For example, I really would prefer the device not to check for firmware updates every single time I use the app...I mean I would never do a firmware update on the device itself if I'm in the midst of an auto-tune, or switching to another app and back. The app needs to support the ability to run in the background without prompting for the same stuff every time you switch.

I just picked up a 2015 Dyna Switchback from the Dealer and immediately started looking for upgrades to the Big Three. Found your video and after reading some reviews, I grabbed the FP3. It arrived this afternoon and I installed it pretty much immediately. Haven't even autotuned at all yet but the precanned Map from V&H has made an already smooth as silk bike run incredibly smooth.
Love your videos. You guys don't leave any details unexplained and thats huge for many of us out here. Keep it up.

Mines married to my bike and I changed to a different exhaust. From slash cut slip on to short shots. Deleting one set of maps and uploading another.

Nice video tutorial on the Vance and Hines fuel pack Fm3! I have a 2015 StreetGlide and have the same slipons but with Dresser dual head pipes. I put the Stage 1 on with a Great map and it really woke the bike up! Haven't did the auto tune yet but might try it. From 3000rpm and up the bike moves lol! Thanks for the video!👍

Ryan just want to say thank you for your videos, I just installed a Vance and Hines Power Duels with Hi Output slip-on's with HD Stage 1 and V&H Fuelpak 3 and used your videos as a guide all along the way. Made the upgrades so easy. Way better than just the instruction sheets.

Thanks Ryan, this is a good video to help new FP3 users. A few points worth noting on FP3 and autotune:
1) The phone does not need to stay connected to the FP3 while running an autotune. Bikers complain about texting drivers but we need to acknowledge that watching the FP3 app on the handlebar could be an unnecessary rider distraction. It does not help the autotune process at all.
2) When initially running autotune the bike will not run well. WOT results in pre-ignition that sounds like loose ball bearings in the heads. Therefore, you need to initially ride easy which makes it impossible to hit all the cells. It worked best for me to ride easy for 30 minutes, flash the adjustments and then continue autotune while riding more aggressively. I repeated this through several iterations and the bike ran better with each re-flash allowing me to hit more cells that I couldn't reach earlier.
3) I found it difficult to re-flash when my phone was not connected to the internet. I recommend stopping back home or some place with good wi-fi and let the phone connect to internet before doing a re-flash. Not sure if this was a bug in the application last summer but my iPhone 6s would hang in the FP3 app if internet connection was slow or non-existent. Until I figured this out my first autotune experience was miserable. I think the app was attempting to connect to V&H and I couldn't figure out how to turn this off.
4) A side effect of the FP3 on my bike (09 FLHTCU) was that it would sometimes confuse the ECM and put the bike into diagnostics mode which disables the interface to the HK radio. At one point during an autotune ride, I started the bike and didn't notice the diagnostics message. My music was cranking and I had no ability to mute or turn the volume down because the interface was disabled. For this reason I recommend turning off the music while autotuning.
5) Last bit, the FP3 can be disconnected once tuning and flashing is complete. Since it frequently puts my bike into diagnostics mode I find it annoying to leave it connected. For this reason, I used a velcro strap instead of a zip tie to secure it so I can easily remove it. It stays clean and dry in a ziplock bag in the saddlebag.

Thanks for commenting Carl....good info for the community....#1-correct. Phone doens't need to be connected. It does have useful information if you like, just like gauges on your dash. #2-We have tuned a ton of bikes w/ the FP3 and not run into that. Sounds like it worked for you. #3-Deinitely depends on your cell signal etc.. #4-Never ran into that at all, but have not done your bike. #5-Correct you can take Fp3 off if you like after tuning. We leave ours on, so we can see real time data on our smartphones. Ride safe!!
Thanks, I've seen others with regards to the FP3, but by far you give the best open information that most really need. Rather than half truths or shall I say, No Extra information outside the basics. You've honestly convinced me back and more confident that this would suit me best actually, rather than the ThunderMax! I wasn't sure the potential or HONEST POTENTIAL it has, from real riders or bikers rather than shops, testimonials etc. I know they give you what you want to hear rather than what you really need to know 🤔🤦♂️! So I'll most definitely save 😀💲💲 with this and get everything, plus more i need when i install it on my 2019 FXDR 114👍! This a must have if you own a 15 iron 883 made mine runn alott better even if you have no other mods will do a stock bike wonders !! No lugging 1 when let of clutch no raddle and shake at high rpm . I have v&h slip on straight shots no A/c yet it basically ran the same as stock just alott louder . With fp3 very smooth throughout the whole rpm band and increase in power!! It lives up to the hype !!

I just did the intake and exhaust on my 2016 Iron 883 yesterday. I have not done the auto-tune yet, but have mapped it for the new intake and exhaust. It does run MUCH nicer. Passing is much easier for sure.

I installed the FP3 after watching your video. I called tech support after programing my unit. Tech support told me that I was good to go after programing the FP3 for my slipon exhaust on my 2016 Harley Ultra Limited Low. They did recommend that I set the Throttle Progressivity to moderate. Additionally, they told me not to run autotune until after running at least one full tank of gas though the bike. He said that I might not need to do so.

what I found that works best for me was: leave the FP3 outside the sidecover it will run cooler and faster, apply your autotune green cells every 30 minutes, they seem to record faster when you first start recording and slows as you record more data (Low Memory??) . Also it seems to record in some areas and ignore other areas but saving every 30 min seems to help recording in new areas. I've done 6 recordings and "Apply's" in one tuning session before finishing.
I bought the FP3 for my 2014 Sportster 48 and I love it. The V&H map for my bike really woke it up and it sounded great but I was getting a very slight popping nothing major no big bangs loln but I felt it could be better so I decided this year bI would start my own custom tune to the way I ride and the FP3 started learning and things started getting even better. the only downside to doing a custom tune is you wont be able to get the "racing" tune because you will be getting tickets while trying to tune in the open throttle higher rpm range.. I don't race so its no big deal but I just wanted to give people a heads up on that. You would have to set up a stationary place like they do with a dyno machine to legally get that kind of tune.

Thanks for the video..... I have a FP3 on my 2014 Street Glide Special and it works like a charm. Much better tech over my 2007 HD Ultra Classic with a Fuel Pak from V&H. I have had it on my bike for 4 years and it has worked flawlessly!

I just put mine on and so far my only concern is that my bike has stock 2 into 1 exhaust, big breather with no baffles.
So I had to select
Generic
2-1
stock baffle
there was no selection for No baffle under the generic setting.
My hope is that running this stock map to start and now auto tuning, it will make up for the No Baffles
any suggestions???

I own a 2014 Limited. I purchased a FP3. I have installed a Drago Exhaust system and a Arlen Ness Big Sucker II. I could not get the unit to auto tune. Contacted the local Harley Dealership and Vance and Hines several times. The bike was too rich and would "flood out". Finally got in touch with the right customer service rep and he told me they system does not work with the Drago System and that the O2 sensors frequently get damaged. None of this was on the available literature. Finally got a good map from Vance and Hinees, I wish that the non compatibilty issue had been available when I purchased the FP3.

That's awesome! I really enjoy mine and there is so much you can do with it. You can set a rev limit so the nephew can't beat the piss out of it ;) also you can adjust the idle down.. I've got mine set so after it warms up its at 925rpm Harley Davidson recommends that you don't go any lower than 900rpm on the sportster so it will have sufficient oil pressure.. I'm not sure what the recommended rpm is on the bigger bikes.
Preying Mathis Factory on the touring bikes is usually 950 to 1050.

Do you happen to know if Vance and Hines updated their system? Alot of older videos say a high flow filter is stock. But there are maps on here now that have the options of high flow or stock.
How did the bike ride without the catalytic converter on the stock header and the dresser duals mapping? I'm thinking about doing that. Getting the cat removed has to be a lot cheaper than buying new head pipes.

Rock on. I can tell you there are no laws in our state whatsoever that don't allow for a phone to be mounted to the handlebars. Good to go.

Did 90 miles non stop across Mid Wales' twisty roads today on my M8 SGS on Autotune. I was very disappointed after fitting V&H Power Duals and Eliminator 400 Slip-ons, because I can't get a K&N filter yet (which the map is set for) it ran flat as a pancake but after flashing the Autotune map it now runs brilliant. Will have to do it all again when I get the filter lol.

A couple things...
The dealer will only provide a "Stage 1 download" if you do not elect to purchase a SEPRT and pay for a dyno session (usually $250 a pop.) This Stage 1 download does nothing (to my knowledge) to your fuel settings, but rather just raises your rev limit by a couple hundred. Basically a complete waste of money which makes the FP3 an even better deal compared to the $500 SEPRT option (or even the $400 Power Vision which I currently own.)
Lastly, I would strongly suggest hitting way more of the cells in your Autotune process since the majority of your peak power (for passing and fast starts) lies well above the 4000 range (6000-7000.) Sure you might not ride in this range very often, but you'll be leaving about 20-30hp on the table if you don't tune/use the top end of the RPMs.

+James Battaglia Totally agree on the upper cells James. I hit a country road and hit the higher range in 4th, 5th and 6th gear and saw the cells get adjusted accordingly. I don't ride that fast normally for passing, I wanted optimal performance. I too love this unit and like that Vance and Hines was the first to get into the modern age.

How do you fill "more" cell's in? Is it doing more auto Tuning, or would it require just riding the bike harder while performing auto tuning? Thanks

Can you adjust idle rpm and rev limiter with fp3?
Good job, thk for your video. I have just a dubt: in the video I understand that you leave the fp3 installed on the bike. The question is: does the fp3 designed to work always linked to bike and to bear at rain, at water of washing operations or hot from engine or sun?
