After 80 hours, I still haven't explored half the map or begun any of the DLC. This is the most fun I've had in an AC game since Brotherhood. It such a beautiful game. I'm in constant awe of my surroundings.... Truly a great game.
Quigon Jim agree with you, still there are some interesting side quest on the game, not all of them, but there are a few that were fun or interesting, like for example the one of the Minotaur, I really liked that one.
@@wilian. Everyone has their own opinions. In my opinion it's a great game, just not assassin's creed. Call it odyssey and ubisoft could make a whole new franchise out of it.
Assassins creed has been my favourite series of all time. At 35 I've been playing them from the beginning and have always loved the historical aspect. Origins and now oddysey have definitely been something special.
"I chose to flirt back because, you know this is Greece" Laughed every inch of my Greek ass off. That's the perfect roast. That's what I call good commentary !
I snorted more than necessary. Best comment of the video. Except for the actual dialogue in the game where Alexios said that he was screaming but not in agony and the guy cried out in horror... 🤣
@Bobby Papoutsis "misconception" lol.. I'm Greek like you I assume by your profile name both in ancient and modern Greece homosexuality was/is booming regardless of laws, conservative bs and taboos throughout places and ages to say otherwise is like hiding behind your finger.
@@adnanbeslagic4219 Eh, she objectively has some of the better voice acting in the entire game, but you have to admit, it still isn't as great as it could've been. Especially when compared to voice acting from other games like RDR2, GOW, and TW3.
@@adnanbeslagic4219 That was one of the reasons I played as Kassandra, because Alexios' voice just seems like it's being overacted. I also just feel like a lot of the dialogue suits Kassandra better.
Hope it will be way more different. Thing I dont like about Odessy because it is too similar of Origin, from artstyle, it shows laziness and almost like a copy
I’m with you 100% on this. It’s now December 2019 and I’m still playing it. I’m that history nerd, and I’ve been waiting for historically accurate open worlds for a long time. I played Origins for 290 hours and Odyssey for a staggering 729 hours. And I’m not even done the DLC. I never played a single title that long in my life. The game just brings me so much enjoyment. The story, the unbelievable gorgeous world in 4K HDR (some of the best in game sunsets you’ll ever see), the mechanics, the systems. There was a time where I just rolled as a Spartan and redid Athenian forts over and over just to trigger the conquest battles, and recruit the leader as a ship lieutenant. I still do the daily and weekly quests. There’s just something about this game and I appreciate hearing someone who had a similar experience. It gets a lot of slack for being grindey but when you love just spending time in the world, it’s certainly not a chore. Don’t even get me started on the Discovery Tours.
Oddessy is my favorite. There’s so much to do & I have so many hours clocked. I loved exploring & learning about Ancient Greece. The history is so rich
Michael Weston it’s a history buff’s dream come true. As was Origins. I hope Ubisoft follows this same model when designing the next game. It doesn’t and shouldn’t be a carbon copy of what they’ve already done, but I hope the meticulous attention to historical detail remains the same
Broseph H I am a history buff & I love the game with all my heart. I’ve been playing since the first assassins creed & I live then all. This one just gave me the freedom to explore the world of the ancient past.
There's only around 150 to 200 hours of content in the game I don't know where the hell you got 720 from but it doesn't sound like your telling the truth also If you had played any other Assasins Creed you would realise what a sack of shit Odyssey is in its historical accuracy gameplay features and Assasins Creed lore
I agree. I don't like it when they change a sequel so radically. If the mechanics are completely different from previous games, and if it doesn't make sense lore-wise, why call it Assassin's Creed? Just to sell more copies? I think it's pretty shameless and a pity, because the game doesn't seem too bad. But between it not being an AC game AND the awful XP system that blocks out progression unless you have a certain level and it's really hard to get to that level without buying XP packs, well NO THANK YOU.
@@NawiTheCore Miracle of Sound, the other day, said that he wished he hadn't gotten the XP boost because it throws off the pacing of the game. The early game is paced slowly to make you think that you need the XP boost, but after that point, it isn't necessary. I say, go for it. Also, there are present day sections that continue the narrative from Origins. Layla Hassan returns as the present-day assassin, but there aren't as many present-day segments as previous AC games. Honestly, I think it's still an Assassin's Creed game. It's not as overt as the Ezio trilogy or the Altair games, but I think it still fits. Yes, it's a semi-reboot of mechanics and gameplay, but it's enough AC to deserve the title, I think. I understand if you don't want to give it a chance, though, because those micro-transactions are pretty scummy. And btw, the endless fetch and kill quests with no depth are unnecessary. Just do side and main quests and map objectives and you'll have a good experience.
It's exactly the same as Assassin's Creed, just with RPG elements. People are having a sook because they have to spend time playing the game. That's how RPG's work. You guys are going to be really disappointed with the release of RDR2 if you expect anything else from games.
Just bought it recently. I saw it when buying anno 1800. I liked Syndicate but was also disappointed and thought I don't want to buy another. Barely noticed this had even come out. I thought I would risk it. I'm so glad I did. It's got issues but not enough to put me off. I love this world & am enjoying the combat once some abilities have unlocked. Also I'm a detail & atmosphere obsessive & this is full of both.
@@knowlesy3915Yh the world in Odessey is amazing. There are soo many detailed side quests that felt like actual quests. And I also liked the combat mainly in the big battles with Athenians and Spartans.
I bought this on the cheap just to get through the boredom of being in lockdown due to Covid-19. Turned out to be one of the best games I've ever played. 15 hours in and only covered about 10% of the entire map.
@@mustafa.ahmed.n3ma I haven't played the Witcher 3 yet so I can't compare. What I can say is that this game feels less like an AC game and more like a typical RPG style game with plenty of content and grinding that never really gets boring. The open world is as big as I've seen in any game and it feels unique. Not to mention the cool fighting mechanics and abilities that you can upgrade as well as an interesting story. It's a solid buy seeing thats it's going for cheap these days.
@@YodaSama0 Ac2, Brotherhood, and Revelations are all better than Black Flag. That game is 90% boat simulator and 10% being an assassin, not to say it's not a good game though.
Did anyone else grow really attached to Barnabas and absolutely love the Barnabas Abroad side quest? It was adorable to see him jump around so excitedly and take you on a tour.
@@carrierose9501 Yes, his nephew. You can save him, though. And if you do Barnabas gets really excited and calls you a demigod. My brother made the wrong choices and got the nephew killed, so I made him replay the entire side quest to spare Barnabas the pain. XD
Not only that but the fact that plays like a lifestream during the "premiere" hence you cannot pause it withiut losing where it was and all other dissadvantages of youtube live videos.
Syndicate what a good game in a way that was more polished and less glitchy than the previous but it didn't really leave an impressive mark like other ganes in the franchise
My first impression of Odyssey was that it would be utterly innacurate in terms of historical content. But it proved me wrong, it's actually in between, some things are indeed innacurate (such as some weapons) but many characters are so well portrayed, it tries hard to teach you history, which is one of the core elements of this series
And honestly, the weapon thing makes some level of sense due to 1. It's a game 2. Isu existed in the AC Universe, so their stuff is hanging around which pretty much explains all the superpowers/magic weapons. And honestly, some other abilities can be explained via natural stuff. Poison Weapons: Add a coat of poison on the weapon Fire Weapons: Harder to be accurate to, however it could be a thing like charcoal pine resin in Dark Souls, as in, a coating of flammable material over the blade that the user sets on fire, now for durability long term it is a bit risky, however, it could be feasible if you know how to be safe. Second Wind and the increased Damage thing/Battle cry of Ares?: Adrenaline Rush And pretty much everything else that Kassandra and Alexios can do are due to the spear which is a piece of Eden, so the Isu tech comes into play.
There are so many interesting characters in Odyssey, it's so awesome. Barnabas, Sokrates, Alkibiades as creepy and permanently aroused as he was; was quite a humorous character. Even Stentor, the cunty little sod.
Marcos López I’m loving the game actually. not a fan of long dialogue sometimes, which is why I had to give up on the Witcher. I want to play the game, not watch it
@@sparkydarksider3165 Greek history? This game is a complete joke. AC used to care about history (even tho the games where never accurate ofc), but these days it's all just a 5 years olds idea of "history". I would laugh if it wasnt so sad.
W4tch0ut I could care less, it’s fun and that’s what a game at its core is suppose to be, even besides that it’s still filled with many historical facts including events, locations, geography, and people, you just have to get over the not so factual things in it made for the sake of effective gameplay and story
That’s one of my favorite things about the game. I’m fighting someone, someone else comes to join in, I kick him back 15 meters and continue fighting the other guy.
Witcher 3 was a game which made me feel like I was really in the game. It was the first time I had felt this while playing a game. I can't even say how much that game changed me. I played the game everyday for atleast a 2 hours and got a total of 300 hours and did pretty much everything. It changed my life. I started viewing games differently. After that Odyssey was the closest to make me feel the same way again and that is why I love this game. I've been playing Assassin's Creed games since Ac 2 came out and while I agree the franchise has taken a different turn, I also cannot deny that Odyssey is an underrated gem of a game.

I rarely play a single player game for over 150 hrs over a span of 4 weeks and not even touched another game. Saved not only money but fatigue of too many games. Even Origin i only put in 65 hrs and put it down after beating it. Something about this game i can pick up and play still not get bored. Seeing myself 100% it
I'm at 50 hrs at the moment, but I've been enjoying exploring the world and completing each City State before moving on. I've only gotten about 50% or less of the map uncovered.
I agree! Completing all the locations is so much fun and it's never been something I've enjoyed before. I literally just slammed the main storyline in origins.
I'm 20 hours in, and I just finished Megaris! I absolutely cannot tell you guys how much of a gem this game is. I have never played an AC game before, but this blows everything out of the water!
So many people hate on Odyssey just because it's an Assassin's Creed game. Odyssey and Origins were two of my most enjoyed games from the last year or two.
I have a lot of problems with Origins as an Assassin's Creed game, yes, but I think Odyssey really improves on the vast majority of Origins' systems and is a much better game for it. Though I'm not very far into Odyssey yet. But also no matter how much I say that I don't care much for Origins, I did still put 70+ hours into it. 🤷♀️
@@andrewowen4767 I'm on the OP's boat on this one, I just could never get into Witcher 3. Dropped the game within 5-10 hours of play, and haven't played red dead series because guns are somewhat of a turn off for me. They can exist as like a secondary limited use item, but not as a primary fighting mechanic. That's just me though. I will say Origins gave me some of the most fun I have had in a long while. I absolutely loved sitting on a boat firing arrows of light at the big ass serpent. It felt like I was Ra fighting Apep in the underworld. I haven't played more than ten hours of Odyssey, but I have had a hell of a lot of fun just running around exploring places. I definitely feel that I'm going to get my money's worth out of this one. Ubisoft is at a whole other level after releasing Odyssey. They took a huge risk adding RPG elements and they succeeded. I can see them coming out with new original RPGS in the future, they've never been an RPG game company but after seeing the success they have had with Odyssey i can't wait to see what they have planned for the future. In my opinion They're right up there with BioWare and Bethsada in the RPG market now. Good job Ubisoft 👍
@@jojotheswede8444 Hello, Jojo! Thank you for your comment; thumbs 'up'! I also miss the hidden blade, but I am enjoying a remarkable game, despite this key feature of the Series being absent, this time. However, it will be worthwhile to note that the Spear used by our Protagonist, still gets the job done, and I also believe that it is worth remembering, that most successful artists reinvent themselves, at one point or another in time, with David Bowie, being an obvious example. Perhaps game devs realised, as creators in a highly collaborative effort, that they also need to reinvent their work, since to reinvent 'themselves', would likely mean either working for some other developer on a entirely different game, or quitting their profession altogether. If that's the case, I am pleased that we get to utilise a spear this time, because we might just see a return of the hidden blade in a future edition of Assassin's Creed. Cheers, and be well! Very Respectfully, Hans Hamundr
Kassandra is better as voice actor for main Prot. Alexios is passable, but better if you keep him as Deimos, Kassandra just conveys emotions better and this scene is funnier cause of it :)

I have never played an ac game before. Tried this game recently and absolutely couldn't believe the masterpiece I was playing. This game has it all. True RPG
I agree man, this is my first AC game as well. I am absolutely blown away. I've been a PC gamer for over 10 years, my last console was the original Xbox. @@Adenoidsqwe Missed true Assassin's Creed vibes but still gotten to play great games. I like the original lore of Assassin's Creed, but I don't love it and I've played every major AC title since it was first released. What I like about AC games is getting to explore periods of history, interact with historical figures and enjoy the great in Animus historical story lines. The last 2 games have been my favourite Assassin's Creed games by a long shot, even over 2 or Brotherhood or Revelations and I loved those games. But in terms of from a gameplay experience, Origins & Odyssey offered so much more even if they're not glued to the original lore as much as everybody would like.
It’s really fun to play even though people hate on it bc of over expectations(meaning they expect the game to bend to their every will and want of what they want the game to be)
To this day I have a hard time finding another game that has an open world that I can just immerse myself in, just separate from real life for a little while even if it's just wandering around the beautiful landscapes of ancient greece.
Not that immersive as AC Odyssey, but I suggest playing God of War (2018), the settings was in Norse Myth though. Also, try Witcher 3. Odyssey was kinda copy from this game. You might also want to know about GOW & Witcher story before playing them.
Yes! 100%, I would love more games that go to historical settings that we don't see in games much. We don't see enough AAA games based on the Mayan & Aztec civilisations, India, South East Asia, Antarctic Exploration (I know the setting of Antarctica would be pretty bland because of how generally flat and white the surface is but you could do so much with that kind of blank canvas), African cultures in general I don't feel get enough love in games and I can't think of any games I've played that are based in Australia, New Zealand or Polynesia or based on their traditional native cultures and the same goes for Canada (more specifically the Northern parts). We see so much of Europe, and Eastern Asia and the US, I would love to see something that really breaks that mould.
The story revolved around how the assassin came to be. Isu artifacts and the isu. Also Ubi is working on a mythology game called Gods and Monsters. Would be conflicting for them to have had this be it's own mythology game and have another. Also they still own and have plans for might and magic which also uses mythology and occult
Aliquid Gaming Wrong. Assassin’s Creed: Origins revolved around how the Assassin’s came to be. Odyssey is Thousand Of Years Before The Brotherhood was even formed.
I don't understand why so many reviewers say this game is pointlessly big, as if Ubisoft tried to hide the lack of real content by making the map excesively big, when in reality is full of interesting content like this. I mean, there's also a lot of pointless and boring fetch quests, but that makes sense in such a huge game with a leveling up system, which for me never got annoyingly grindy anyway. I've played every single Assassin's Creed since the first one came out, and even though this one, just like Origins before it, doesn't really feel like an Assassin's Creed game used to, it definitely feels like a very good game and one of the best in the franchise so far.
@@stampfertnilpfert4485 It's not about it being "too big", it's about people who say it's only that big to compensate for lack of good content. Boring fetch quests would be a problem if that's all there was. You can't just take a part of anything and assume the rest is the same, and that goes both for the game and for my comment... Have you read the rest of it? Have you watched this video to understand the context?
Remy Blas I could not get through the video but I did read the rest of your comment not that I see how that had anything to do with it. And boring fetch quest are always a problem no matter how many there are. The problem only varies on how big of a problem it is depending on how many there are. But they are always a problem since they are *_boring_*
@@stampfertnilpfert4485 They're there for a reason. Part of that reason it's to act as filler so it seems there's more content, but also they're for grinding since it's a level based RPG. Have you consider that some people enjoy grinding in a game? Otherwise the genre wouldn't even exist. If you don't like it, fine, but that's your personal preference, not a hard fact. And judging a whole game just for having an xp grinding mechanism that you could totally avoid if you want to, seems pretty close-minded to me. Especially since I don't really see how that relates to the size of the map anyway...
Remy Blas Oh shit I didn’t know I was judging the entire game when I talked about annoying filler in a game. Why not make the quest interesting then? It’s the least they can do to redeem themselves from making all those shitty games in the past. Also assassins creed isn’t actually an RPG.
This is the first assassins creed game I’ve played and as a history nerd I’m absolutely fucking thrilled about the attention to detail on everything. I honestly can’t wait for Valhalla
“iTs NoT aN aSsAsSiNs CrEeD gAmE” well it’s actually set before the brotherhood was properly established and the first dlc is going to be about the first person to wield the hidden blade
Correctus! It's the only thing i didnt like till now about Odyssey but considering it's a sort of a prequel will be AMAZING to discover the first hidden blade with the story. In some aspect i still prefer Origins that i loved and still love to play, but Odyssey is a blast for the serie and the game industry of this kind of Open World games. Just hope more efficent optimization (im on PC) from Ubisoft with this STUNNING new engine, but they really did and still doing an incredible work ! Congrats @UBISOFT and thanks @ Luke Stephens for the video. I played this quest already and i lolled my ass off too 😂😂😂
My reactions were just as yours. I bought this based on the promise of Origins and I would never have expected this to be possibly the finest game I play of the year. RD2 is indeed amazing and..completely different. I'm glad they both exist. I do have to say, though I'm sure the game is still amazing the acting of Kassandra is on a different level. I would suggest everyone play as her. One of the better performances in recent gaming.
I agree, and sadly, the love the voice actress for Kassandra had ( and even the devs with her much more subtle expressions and charm) contrasts with the boredom and even retardness of playing Alexios, the guy just has a dead eye all the time, the body is not proportional, and the voice is what it is, utter trash. Am i glad i picked Kassandra, plus, nice wiggly butt for the entire Odissey :D
I didn't like this game at first. I didn't like combat, all the superhuman powers, ship physics. But then I got into it and started enjoying the hell out of it.
same... i was not interest in it... but everyone said it was better than origin so i get the early release one so i can talk about it... it was better than expect... overall good game compare to what they made for last 5 years...
@vibhu sharma I disagree. Origins had a better plot and characters that didn't feel like cardboard cutouts. The world also felt more dynamic and alive. It also looked better graphically. Having one well-written protagonist without dialogue choices also lends itself way better to the narrative. Odyssey felt really empty and lifeless in comparison.
I just got A.C. Odyessy for my birthday and I have been playing it a lot.. I just love it. The game is highly underrated in my opinion. My brother tells me origins is better but I think odyessy is better by far
All ive heard is that its not a true assassins creed game and how it breaks already established lore? I wasnt that big of a fan to care but thats what i keep getting told by friends who are
What's kept me from buying it is Ubisofts greedy but unfortunately unsurprising cash grabs, the kind that are becoming more and more common among AAA developers. I'd love to play an RPG set in ancient Greece, though it doesn't make much sense as a part of the AC series, but I don't want to play a purposely grindy game that'll make me pay to skip through it, which is all I've been seeing and hearing of the game. Seems like yet another example of a creative teams vision being ruined by corporate demands.
The Assassin's Creed franchise is my most beloved Franchise. And The Assassin's Creed Odyssey is my most played and most Explored world in Entire Gaming Industry. I just Love this Game. The feeling of Freedom is next level.
Indeed! I have purchased this game long time ago and played it just for a couple of hours and left. With Valhalla launching, I picked it up to go through the story quickly, to find out, after playing for hours, a very emotional scene saying "ubisoft presents"... so I've barely scratched the surface of the game and since then I couldn't stop playing after tons of hours of fun, funny, emotional, deeply tied main and side stories, very rich and varied gameplay, I'm still 50% of the game, incredible amount of the map unexplored yet, and it gets better with every second. Even at mid game new mechanics being introduced it is really an amazing game. Now Valhalla is out, played it for one day and I feel I want to come back to odyssey. Believe me, I'm not an RPG fan, I barely play games. I'm much more into flught simulators and combat or hard-core survival complex games. This game is fantastic and accessible to everyone and it can be played the way you like the best... give it a try... please
@@mattdarwin3978 There are also Atlantis and Cult story lines. There is not much meaningless grinding. Honestly i completely agree with you. i tried playing the first AC game and fell off the wagon because it was so slow paced. after playing origins and now on my second run of odyssey with kassandra, i've gone back and purchased nearly all the games so i can play them. This game is so underrated for so many reasons and none of them are justified.
the only thing that AC Odyssey proves is that no matter the time frame, ubisoft never fails to deliver a generic story with cliche arcs and characters.
It proves how lazy Ubisoft is and how they only want profits. They don't care about the fanbase or those who played AC games since the beginning. Odessey is for the casuals and the shills because everyone knows what Odessey is a piece of trash but the shills will always defend Ubisoft and their practices.
Assasins Creed Odyssey is one of the best rpg/adventure games that someone could play, it has everything, good combat, good customization, good map, good and interesting quests and a ton of hours to be put on, it kind of reminds me of Far Cry 3 but on a way bigger scale
This game is a hit with the older generation of gamers. I’m 37 and love the ac dynasty of games since the jump. Dunno if younger players have the patience for a game of this epic scale.
Slang Yung Well i am what you would call ‘a younger gamer’ and i am probably the only one out of all of my friends that actually likes this franchise.. I wouldn’t call it a hit, but there are some of us that have the patience required.. Personally Odyssey is by far my favourite AC game! :)
He has just expressed my sentiments to the T! This is my favorite Assassin's Creed. It is definitely a masterpiece and Ubisoft should be given high praise for this game. It is, by far, the biggest world I have ever played in and the most beautiful. 365 hours played, 12053 kills...and still haven't done all the side quests or the exploration/educational mode. If you own an Xbox One or PS4 and you do not own this game, it is an utter travesty. I thought Origins was amazing, and it was, in it's own right, but this just blew me away and far exceeded my expectations. Kudos to you Ubisoft. Can't wait until the next one.
For all the people who say that the new games are not like the others Assassins Creeds: You should be thankful for that, because if they were, the old games would not be legendary if they were copied all the time. Something had to change eventually.
I just don’t like how every time you level up all the bosses all become the exact same level I think when you level up the bosses should be whatever original level they were before you level up
There's an enemy autolevel setting in the game settings. If you enable it, enemies will automatically level upto your level if they are lower in level than you.
@@solidfisher9798 not what they're talking about. It only sets enemies 4 levels below you. Origins had it where every enemy's level is set to it's area and not boosted to the level of the player
I haven't actually treated AC Odyssey as "Assassin's Creed" but rather "RPG with Assassin's Creed elements" and actually because of that I really like it. İt's very fun if you don't stick to the mindset of not treating it like its own game.
Man the Mykonos questline is probaly one of the most memorable ones i have ever experienced in a game. I tried doing reloading it a couple of times, to get a different ending... but i always felt sad, when it was time to move on.... oh well, i will always have Mykonos
I love this game so much. The story is so captivating and emotional and the characters are fleshed out and likable, including our own. I love that there are 9 different endings and that you long lasting consequences even for side quests. The moral ambiguity the character work creates is pretty awesome too. The side quests are enjoyable and surprising and the game itself looks beautiful.
At first I approached this game as an assassin's creed game and was mostly negative about it. But than I realised that it is a really good action-rpg adventure and I should take it more lightely, and now I am having so much fun with it.
It’s too bad this game was overshadowed by red dead 2. But this game, was FUCKING AMAZING!!! People really need to give this game a chance, this game had me BLOWN away too! It was truly a MASTERPIECE. And not too many games that come out these days are TRUE masterpieces. But THIS game? Hell yes. It gets the prize
I don’t know why this game gets so much hate. Just finished it and all the DLCs for the first time tonight (may 2022). I’ve got 90 hours on the game and still can’t get enough. Would definitely recommend getting if you’re contemplating playing.
I can't get it either. Yet they praise the games like AC3 which does the things way worse than AC Odyssey. Nostalgia is a very poisonous thing. They wanted the series to change, Ubisoft did it and they complained (Unity) not just because of glitches but also because of the similar design (missions, similar stories (the main characters are mostly orphans, I wonder why... That's actually the difference I really liked in Odyssey. I said "Oh shit, finally a character with a family, and she/he is searching for his/her family! They finally tell us something different since AC Rogue!". I personally like family stories especially those with sibling conflicts since as a girl myself I have two elder brothers.), dull characters, boring combat system etc.) we've already seen in previous games, people wanted something more different from this and Ubisoft created a whole new thing. With a much better combat system, exploration, side quests, freedom in character builds etc. yet toxic fans still complain about that. Ubisoft is actually happy with the sales now, they don't want to face with another case like Unity's.
Kevin Redula How so? Plato was either a student of Socrates or intimately familiar with him as the leading thinker of his day. He clearly revered him as is evident in Plato’s Dialogues even if Plato’s own philosophy may have expanded or differed.

I hadn’t played games since the old days of StarCraft. Then last year I got interested in the Batman Arkham series. I bought an XBox and had a blast playing through them. Then this year, probably by watching reviews like this one, I got introduced to the AC games. So I got a bundle with AC 3 and Odyssey and started playing AC 3. It was fun. But then I decided to give Odyssey a try just to see if it was working… I think I may never finish this game. Mainly because I never want it to end. The Arkham games were spectacular. But this has got to be the greatest media experience I’ve ever had. The world the developers created is mind boggling in its detail, depth and beauty…
Ive played all the AC games, they are ALL good games, but Odyssey takes it to another level. It is truly a masterpiece. I will never understand, nor care why it gets hate from a small camp of AC fans. Whenever i ask a hater why they hate it, they can never give a decent reason why. Usually they say because it doesnt have parkour🙄 And then they try to say it doesnt have stealth/ assassin ability, but i always shut down that LIE, and they quickly shut up. Ive enjoyed every AC game, but Odyssey is the only one i keep going back to. I had hoped Valhalla would be as good as Odyssey, but was disappointed. The gameplay mechanics isnt as smooth, and having to babysit a village gets old REAL fast. And the main character isnt nearly as interesting as Kassandra, the greatest AC character, HANDS DOWN. I applaud every Odyssey fan out there for being open minded TRUE AC fans.
Origins was much better as an Assassin Creed game. There's barly anything in Odyssey that relates to the Assassin creed world and story. Aside from parts of the DLC.
@@JulianSki Yes but that is only explained in Legacy of the first blade not the main story campaign. In the main story there is nothing assassin creed about it aside from the Isu and the animus which has gotten to the point where its become a VR headset 😂
Poor man's Witcher 3 was hot garbage. Odessey has millions of problems the most common one is it's a cash grab and uses brand name . Without the AC title the game would have flopped .
Honestly “give it a chance” like you said was the best thing I’ve done. I’m truly in awe with the game and the extreme detail that has gone into every character and the quests. The open world, the colorful paintings inside the temples. So much detail that I appreciate. My favorite AC will always be the OG 1&2. But this is definitely up there.
You're point is? Alot of games are like that, what differs is how the game makes those seemingly tedious steps interesting, and this game really does make them interesting.
The mechanics of Odyssey are fun and I enjoyed it. After a while when you realize every single objective in odyssey is "infiltrate base, kill people, do the nation objectives, conquest battle, repeat"
While old AC game's objectives are stalking people, infiltrate, upgrade, repeat. Not much to do, I've tried to play black flag, unity, and syndicate, none of them finished.
@@arthoormoorgen9492 I think the difference is that those games had more specific choreographed set pieces and moments. Brotherhood and revelations had these really well designed parkour chase sections, Black Flag had these big cinematic pirate battles with things exploding and crazy music playing, it feels like the earlier games made more of an effort to have some big standout moments while in odyssey the regular infiltrations and fight sequences feel identical to the story ones. And that made the whole game feel flat sooner than others for me
Just got the gold bundle for like $25 bucks on Black Friday last week. I don’t know how it took me so long to play this gem. I absolutely love it so far. Like, I literally can’t get enough. It’s definitely one of my all time faves. Right up there with rdr2, KCD, wow, fo3/nv/4 etc..
The only AC game I never played (aside from Valhalla). Just started playing a week ago and you’re right. It is incredible. I’m a big fan of the series too. Origins was fun for a little but the map was like 99% desert.
Thank you finally someone agrees with me. I think the fans are angry just because they expected it to be in the same lane with Origins of which will never be it will only be the best from it’s predecessor. I really love the game and I’m addicted to it just to find something new everyday.
I am not a RPG type of gamer by any means but Origins and Odyssey have completely changed my mind. Origins was amazing and Odyssey is near perfection in the RPG world. Hands down the best. Great video and keep them coming!
I picked the game up a little late but let me tell you I cant put it down....I'm not even thinking of RD2 yet. Maybe after I finish this game but i like this game so much I might actually play both characters in a game finally.

I was happily surprised as a big Assassin's Creed fan, with Odyssey. Haven't played all of the AC games, but always had the luck to stumble on the best ones (considered by the majority of people) - AC 1 (not everyone's favorite, but I really love it), AC 2, AC Brotherhood and AC Black Flag. And Odyssey so far hasn't disappointed - it has a solid plot (especially at the beginning), which is very important for me - may be even the most important thing, because huge AC fans know well how much invested we were with Desmond, Altair and Ezio. Also there's lots to do in it - the choice system is a super nice thing and the RPG element doesn't feel too grindy. Plus the world of Greece is stunning - the game is very beautiful! I haven't finished the main story yet, but I'm good invested in the game, and that's for more than 50hrs gameplay so far.
People hating on AC Odyssey and yet it's the AC game with most actuve player count. Odyssey: 4500+ active players. Origins: 2100+ active players. Valhalla: 2000+ active players. Looks like very successful ASSASSIN'S CREED game.

Kassandra is better as the hero and alexios is better as the villain
There’s a school in Belgium that uses the Origins and Odyssey tours for educational purposes!
If the game was'nt called Assassin's Creed, I think people would be more interested. Because then they would think of it as it's own thing.
Right i mean it's a good game and all but the problem ist didn't stick true to it's name
I mean the she does sail around Greece to assassinate like 50 people, its just not for the brotherhood

My first impression of Odyssey was that it would be utterly innacurate in terms of historical content. But it proved me wrong, it's actually in between, some things are indeed innacurate (such as some weapons) but many characters are so well portrayed, it tries hard to teach you history, which is one of the core elements of this series
And honestly, the weapon thing makes some level of sense due to
1. It's a game
2. Isu existed in the AC Universe, so their stuff is hanging around which pretty much explains all the superpowers/magic weapons.
And honestly, some other abilities can be explained via natural stuff.
Poison Weapons: Add a coat of poison on the weapon
Fire Weapons: Harder to be accurate to, however it could be a thing like charcoal pine resin in Dark Souls, as in, a coating of flammable material over the blade that the user sets on fire, now for durability long term it is a bit risky, however, it could be feasible if you know how to be safe.
Second Wind and the increased Damage thing/Battle cry of Ares?: Adrenaline Rush
And pretty much everything else that Kassandra and Alexios can do are due to the spear which is a piece of Eden, so the Isu tech comes into play.
I knew nothing about ancient Greece when I started playing. I have watched many many documentaries about it to better understand/enjoy the game.

I also miss the hidden blade,

the Series being absent, this time.
However, it will be worthwhile to note
that the Spear used by our Protagonist,
still gets the job done, and I also believe that
it is worth remembering, that most successful
artists reinvent themselves, at one point or another
in time, with David Bowie, being an obvious example.
Perhaps game devs realised,
as creators in a highly collaborative
effort, that they also need to reinvent
their work, since to reinvent 'themselves',
would likely mean either working for some

Not that immersive as AC Odyssey, but I suggest playing God of War (2018), the settings was in Norse Myth though. Also, try Witcher 3. Odyssey was kinda copy from this game.

Agreed
The story revolved around how the assassin came to be. Isu artifacts and the isu. Also Ubi is working on a mythology game called Gods and Monsters. Would be conflicting for them to have had this be it's own mythology game and have another. Also they still own and have plans for might and magic which also uses mythology and occult
They're making that game, It's called Gods and Monsters

Wrong.
Remy Blas “a lot of boring fetch quests but that makes sense in such a huge game”
*_why do you think they thought it was to big?!!!!_*

@vibhu sharma I disagree. Origins had a better plot and characters that didn't feel like cardboard cutouts. The world also felt more dynamic and alive. It also looked better graphically. This game is fantastic and accessible to everyone and it can be played the way you like the best... give it a try... please
