The story is a bit dull, though. When I gathered in Athens with a bunch of playrights and philosophers (and one Father of History), people with generally no political or military powers whatsoever, to conspire against an ELECTED official (Cultist or not), essentially undermining democratic values... Alcibiades was the only one who was worth anything, if you want to hatch a coup d'état. Throwing a high-brow party, sure, Aristophanes and Hippocrates and Socrates are good guests, but come on, there's such a wealth of characters in 5th century Athens to plot against Cleon... There's Cleinias, the crazy brother of Alcibiades, there's Xanthippos, Pericles' son; there's Hipponikos, one of the wealthiest and most aristocratic Athenians, belonging to the most noble house of the Alcmeonids (who were definitely unhappy with the way Ephialtes and later his protégé Pericles had reduced the power of the aristocratic Areopagus, so firmly against democracy). All of them old blue bloods, since, let's not forget, a coup against Cleon is a coup against democracy. Cleon gets a bad rep in Thucydides' histories because his attempts to bring the war to Sparta ended up with his death, even if he did win the only battle a Greek army would win against Spartans in a century (the battle of Sphacteria, in the game as the Battle of Pylos). Anyway, the game's fun but they merely scrached the surface of what they could have accomplished. The plot "war's bad and it's being stoked by powers-that-be in the shadows" undermines the actual merits, blames and gravitas of the states and characters involved.
Had it happen to me a few times. I really feel for those guys when they go flying over the side because I just got rammed by a ship I wasn't paying attention to.
I just started playing the game, I happened to stumble upon figuring out you can whistle at a merc until it triggers him and he attacks you so you have no penalty for killing him publicly. Also, penelopes shroud (which you get very early game) will match to the color of any armor that has cloth over the top of it like mercenary armor.
15: Get Spartan kick its good at kicking shields/off ledges 14: Get crowd control moves 13: Get healing 12: Get shield breaker 11: Remember to parry/dodge 10: Pay attention to armor buffs 9: Engravings are a thing 8: You can upgrade gear 7: Do enemy camps/fortresses 6: Faction wars are basically unimportant sidequests 5: No difference between Kass/Alexios (besides minor armor aesthetics) 4: Use non-lethal for recruiting 3: Collect tablets for ship upgrades 2: There's stuff underwater 1: Check for new sidequests tl;dr for anyone who isn't completely clueless since this is basically a beginners guide: Spartan Kick, Shield Breaker, and Healing are extremely good skills. Keep Legendary/Purple gear because you can upgrade it. The Faction War is irrelevant, just a means to get EXP/Items. Recruit Captains/Elites because they tend to have good ship skills. Pay attention to the map because new sidequests will appear.
I dont think you can get rid of legendary armor right? From what i remember you can only get them in one place, and if you accidentally sell them youre hecked
So I know this is old but I just got this game cause it’s on sale, the thing I just found out is if you deplete an enemies health bar with spartan kick it knocks them out allowing you to recruit them without having to run down their health, hide, and then knock them out if you can’t do it outright, also you can recruit mercenaries which seem to be some of the best recruits
@@khed7104 yeah the game tells you that too. You can also use Paralyzing arrows if you focus on Hunter damage. All three have a skill to knock someone out instead of kill.
Little tip here. When a higher ranked bounty hunter or base captain is giving you trouble lure them on top of a tall building, edge or near a cliff and spartan kick them off. Insta kills them when they hit the ground. But be weary because the heavies dont get pushed back from it too much. However they are slow and easy to dodge
Doesn't worj on certain bounty hunters even if they aren't heavies because they can have a trait where they don't stagger from your attacks so spartan kick will never knock them off a ledge. Though it is still good advice because it will work most of the time.
Noticed that too. I thought is a bug or patched or something. Someone on the ubi forum said that it depends on armor and level as he too didn't see the kick work on everyone. My experience is that if the enemy has its level red then the kick will not work, thing is i had issues with +1 level enemy also. But if you are able to doge and do a combo facing the free fall direction, when the combo finisher hits them, they will still be thrown and fall to their death.
If you concentrate more on the stealth type of gameplay (I have pretty much all equipment perks and ability points put to stealth), using the Rush Assassination ability is pretty useful. Especially if there are two strong enemies and you have maxed out your Rush Assassination so you can chain it. Adrenaline buildups are good perks for stealth build as well. Rush Assassinate, run away, hide and go behind the enemy, Rush Assassinate again, run away... You might want to deliver a few hits here and there to get more adrenaline. And if there are two of them, Rush Assassinate first, chain to the second, chain back to first, chain back to second, run away, hide, flank, repeat.
"Get the Sparta Kick" "Get the Charged Heavy" "Get the Shield Break" "Get the Heal" "Parry and Dodge" "Your gender doesn't matter" "Keep checking the map for new quests" What kind of tips are these?
Dont listen to this guy about not dismantling gear. That's the dumbest shit. Don't bother keeping blue or grey items, they'll be replaced in five minutes or a trip to the blacksmith. The only gear worth upgrading is legendaries and the exotics if you like them that much but it's expensive. I say upgrade your weapons at least, and leave the armor.
I sell every piece of gear that does less damage and has lower armor i already have over 500k dracmae and over 3k wood, metal stone, leather, obsidian and 1k precious crystals from sinking ships, killing mercenaries (50 so far) exploring the 2nd island after the prologue
This isn't really a "things the game doesn't tell you", more like a... We've played the game, here are our tips. I couldn't imagine a game tool tip to say, "The Spartan Kick is incredibly useful... you should get it".
These “things you didn’t know” vids about new games that pop up on all gaming channels usually have the worst actual advice if you play video games somewhat regularly at all lol
True. All the skills he says to get are useless unless you really suck at assassination and stealth. I handle multiple enemies just fine...it's called dodge and just running thr heck away as fast as you can until they give up. xD I crit so hard with all my assassin skills that all the rest are not needed.
It’s all just to get that money lol. I just like watching to see what dumb tips they come up that everyone who just plays the game realizes or is common sense 😂
I know I have shield smash and health mainly for when fighting bounty hunters or in small areas. But spear if charges cut through shields so if your using a spear theirs no pint to that abilty. Also The spartan kick seems fun but later on it sucks as you could be suing it for assassin abilities or area damage . Assassin abilities are useful for camps as to not have hundreds sprocket on you. But in the conquest battles their useless
HA! thought I was the only one to utilize the torch! I throw it at snakes and set them on fire as well as hit wolves with it and set them ablaze. its great against animals. ALso, shoot the vases of oil in camps with fire arrow or chuck torch at them and set the camp ABLAZE!!!!
@@mikeogden54 Oh nice. Are there tombs and temples to explore like in origins, even though there aren't pyramids? One of my favorite parts of the last game
Here are some of my tips - if you’re not very good at naval combat you can leave the helm of the ship and block the enemy ships path and most of the time, in my experience, it stops the ship allowing you to swim to it and use normal combat - Spartan kick isn’t the best ability in the combat area but if you have points to spare you should get it as it is useful to stop unstoppable attacks - rolling around stops fire on your character -if a lynx jumps on your back roll around to get it off -upgrade the second wind (healing if I got the name wrong) as soon as possible so you can gain half your health back and gets rid of debuffs And now a tip for post game -finally, if you unlock Deimos as a lieutenant, use the call of arms ability to summon him/her into combat as they use the same moves from the boss battle in the end of chapter 8
This is my first assassins creed game. But i was never into the others but the whole greek lore and rpg mechanics made me try it and i am so happy i did. I dont think i would have liked the older games.
I don’t understand why people dislike this game. It takes into account stealth whilst also being like a spartan demi god. The spear of Leonidas is such a cool and unique touch. The story and characters are amazing and the open world is seemingly never ending and beautiful. There are plenty of original assassins creed games to play this series would’ve fallen off imo if there was no variation to the classic themes of the original games.
@Redh3n productions and writing Yeah. Mercenaries will be your best bet for legendary recruits. I just fight them until they're one or two hits away from death and kick them to knock them out instead.
Nope i did too. I am a straight male and i always get the male character. It helps with immersion and role playing when i relate with the protagonist. Judging by the comments though...that makes 5 of us that chose Alexios.
Here’s a real actual tip. I’ve heard even some reviews say “you can’t leave your ship whenever” yes you can hold Y or Triangle and you can there did your job for you Gamingbolt
Seriously?! I'm trying this as soon as I get home. I thought since O is how you leave smaller boats, it'd make sense for that to be the same button to leave your ship whenever. That will make it SOOO much easier to explore small islands than having to find the nearest dock and travel from there.
I’m at level 14, but this morning I came head to head with a level 35 mercenary and by the grace of god somehow I survived. We have a lonnnng way to go before beating this game my friends.
This game is far bigger and better than Origins in my opinion. I loved Origins, but this game has a very different feel to it, and there's WAY more to do. I've played for about 15 hours already, and I've only visited 3 sections of the map. Just looking at the size of the map and seeing how dense the content is in the few places I've, I can easily say that I'm probably going to take months to finish it.
It's gone from "Assassin's Creed" to being centered around finding the Eden Artifacts and the fact that you actually get to wield one (Spear) explains why they went back further than Origins to find them
That's because AC was never about the assassin's specifically, it was about how the first civilization artifacts created what would later become the Templars Vs Assassins story. So, yeah it's about assassins, but there's so much more to it than just that.
Mike Johnson I was about to call you dumb for saying that but you have a point. But soon the series needs to focus back on the struggle between assassins and templars because they are what determine the world order. Also I feel like with how Ac is going now the Isu are somehow gonna be brought back because they seem to be orchestrating every thing even from so far in the past there has to be some kind of bigger threat then just the Assassins and Templars fighting
DutchPlayss i just completed the first region battle so now it went from Athenian control to Spartan control. After running around in the same region, all the bases that i cleared out in prep for the battle are now basically reset but with Spartans. The resources are reset also. I cleared a base and it depleted the purple control meter. So, it looks like you might be able to just keep flipping the same region over and over
I consider myself really good at Odyssey and still found this really helpful. The underwater ruins are the one things I completely ignore but I can assume based on this, you can find some cool ship skins 👏
Straight up love this game. Bought it during Covid, best the main story and killed all the cult members. Picked it back up a month ago and found out here’s so much DLC. I’ve been playing it every day nonstop. Haven’t even touched The Fate of Atlantis yet. It’s like a whole other game added on to it. This game is 10/10 best AC game made so far.
The spartan kick is most useful when mercenaries are after you in a ship. 1: in a ship it lowers the mercenarie's level by like 3. 2: you can kick them off and they will eventually drown so you dont really have to fight them.
I feel like people give this game crap for no reason other than nostalgia. I personally love this game and Greek history/mythology. This game was one of my favorites
I don't remember the game mentioning it but if you jump from a high place and press the dodge button right before you land you can completely ignore fall damage.
Faction wars are very helpful because one you get a lot of xp and some decent gear. Also if you are better at fighting archers you want the Athenians to be in the area because they have better archers but worse soldiers so the easier faction to fight. Also ancient tablets are mostly found in ruins almost every ruin gives you 4 ancient tablets to upgrade the ship.
I'm 60 hours in I go through phases of clearing every mission question mark everything then u might do a few missions either way it's a real fun ge and worth every penny
FYI Don’t kill the Merc’s you can recruit them to go on your ship. Just knock them out with the spartan kick and they will usually be legendary allies.
Still one of the most beautiful and atmospheric games out there. Sure, the open world is too big, activities get repetitive, the conquest battles add very little, inventory/item management is a chore... But the rest still among the best of the genre.
shield brake skill should be unlocked as soon as possible because you have a better chance at beating stronger enemies, as well as to deal damage to non-shield ones. Strangely, it is one of the most underestimated abilities in the game
Assassin creed. The early games in the franchise explore the subject of assassins forming a creed to fight the templar in a struggle over the claim of mystical objects made by a fallen advanced civilisation of higher beings that created humans. For a very long time players and developers are focusing on exploring and expanding on this story aspect in the franchise with even the name of the franchise even being name after the assain creed itself. Until later on the story shifted away from the fight between the assain creed and templar to what they are actually fighting over and what these things, power and truth are capable of. This has now been what assain creed have evolve into. If you follow the lore in assassin creed it basically tell everything that happened after the fall of ISU and modern primates aka humans using machines and genetic memories in their dna to relive the past memories in order to look into the entire span of the traverse and passed timeline. Everything from the restarting of civilisations and empires to lives and dramas of the people living in its historical periods and settings etc. The games is trying to tell you what people are fighting or protecting over, what is the original version of the human faiths, how countries are form and how mythology monsters came about etc. Assassin creed has become an attempt and an encapsulation of everything that have ever happened from the BC all the way to the AD era up to this very present moment. Everything you know, do, and live is all part of the assassin creed universe. Trying to help people understand what is going on nowadays when they start to see their assassin games changing with each new game ubisoft releases out.
That's a really nice thought but I can almost guarantee you that's not what Ubisoft thought. They just want people to buy their games. They have no deeper thought. This game and Origins is just an dog with the name assassin creed slapped on it cause they don't even fkin bother making a new different series. This ain't assassins creed in my opinion. Y O U D O N T E V E N H A V E A H I D D E N B L A D E
Origins and Odyssey are both extremely fun to play. I couldn't care less about the story. It's relatively easy to follow once you get everything in chronological order. I like the smaller details in games that allow me to use my imagination more than i wan't it spelled out. It doesn't matter if it has anything to do with the overall narrative. I'll take gameplay over story 9 out of 10 times. These last 2 entries in the have the best gameplay in the AC series.
chrisg258 Yeah, it's gameplay is indeed good but this isn't assassins creed gameplay. Extremely good game but has nothing to do with assassins creed Hell there aren't any templars, no assassins, less stealth and more combat, you can't put mind the ai it's all about the numbers (as it should be in a rpg, I know but..) AND this is what's the most tilting. YOU DONT EVEN FEKIN HAVE A HIDDEN BLADE LIKE WTF UBI
As a longtime AC fan, (been playing since AC 2’s release). This is the first game I decided not to pick up at release date because I thought it was basically Origins with just a new setting. I was also so hyped for RDR 2 that I didn’t really care about yet another AC. But after some months after release I heard so many good things about the game, that I just got it after all. And I was massively surprised, Ubisoft actually listened to their angry AC fans and made it even better than Origins.
TOP PRO TIP: You can recruit mercenaries that attack you! All of them are epic, and some even legendary!!! To do this, make sure to end them with a spartan kick - this knocks them out rather than killing them so you still have the option of recruiting them after the fight :)
"You're gender doesn't change much'' had me confused for a second. I took it literally like your gender does actually change throughout the game.. just not much.
The biggest secret of them all, upgrade weapon and armor with critical chance and critical chance while full health. in the end game, it will allow you to one shot almost every enemy, in combat or in stealth, including powerful mercenaries.
An actual trick in Odyssey where you could beat any mercenary (even if their levels are high): -Get his/her attention -Quickly climb a Temple of some god/goddess. -shoot at them with arrows. For some reason they don't climb the Shrines or Temples. I guess for not disrespecting the god.
Or find a nice open road and just ride in circles shooting them with arrows. Particularly effective if you've got the engraving for poison or fire arrows. I killed the top mercenary like that despite him having a skull icon over his head.
Eh, the tip about the Ancient Tablets (#3) is wrong. Yes, the Tablets are very important and you should go out of your way to track them down, but they're almost never found at enemy forts or camps. They are almost exclusively found at Ruins (the icon looks like a red tower with a chunk missing) and you can see which ones have them by checking the location details once you get close enough to the Ruin and looking at the pop up (or holding L3 for a second). Each tablet pickup you find at a Ruin gives you 4 tablets to use for ship upgrading.
I don't get why everyone keeps saying this. Assassin's Creed has always been an action RPG. You've always had to level up, collect stronger gear, unlock abilities, grind for experience, (semi) open world map with fast travel. This is taking it further but it's still the same over all set up. Kill down a long line of baddies to find the one who wronged your family.
Y’all want something that actually helps you? Shoot enemies that go invisible with a poison arrow a few times and you will be able to see where they are
As someone who usually can’t help themselves, I haven’t bought any. The game is too much fun to rush. And it’s not difficult to level up when the game keeps you busy with content after content.
Spartan kick has one more useful feature: it is non-lethal. Meaning that using it as a finishing move with knock out someone instead of killing them. You can recruit and whatnot or simply not have wanted for murder on your head when a civilian attacks you in a middle of a fight with guards.
I got to say WOW. I have always intrigue of Assassins creed games but I have been disappointed in them so many times that I stop trying to make myself like them. But Odyssey is something else. I can't stop playing it. Great game.
I swear on my combat behalf in this game, I have not seen one single youtuber, out of every AC Odyssey youtuber I watch, ever use the parry in combat. I just sit there face palming myself and cringing when they doge instead of parrying. Not to mention how many times they get hit. USE THE PARRY PEOPLE!
Robert Eden I missed the shield at first also. But now that I’m better at parrying and dodging it makes the combat faster more fluid and I like it more now without the shield. But that’s just my opinion I’m sure a lot of people will wish you could have the shield back lol
I miss the shield too. I've never been a fan of dual wielding weapons, I've always preferred a sword and shield in any game set in an era where those exist.
I've been predominantly doing side quest or during story mode I would complete all side quest when I unlock new areas. Dont mind taking my time on this one, game is awesome 👍
I just started playing ac odyssey like fr like 2 months ago, I cannot believe how good it is, and how much there is to do. It’s IMO one the greatest games ever made.
I didn't use the Spartan Kick or CC abilities, and I just completed the game. I would say you SHOULD get these Melee skills if you enjoy melee style combat. Otherwise, you obviously won't be meleeing much, since you clearly don't enjoy it - and therefore don't need to invest in those skills. I never got the Shield Break skill. I just patiently timed head shots through the little hole in the shield. Or waited for them to use their super ability, which usually left the vulnerable to a body strike. You can also shoot their feet. I do agree with getting the Healing Ability from the Melee tree. That's a must have. Just get the abilities that fit your play style, and you'll be fine. I finished the game at Level 55, and just put points into the abilities I used the most. Useful Archer Skills: - Devastating Shot: You can usually kill grunts with a headshot, but Captains+ will require a little more omph. This will take them out easily, and it's funny watching their bodies fly 20 feet. - Rain of Destruction: This is great for Conquest Battles and taking out Leaders that are surrounded by troops. Shields will protect your enemies, but not when arrows rain down on their head! - Spread Shot: This is worth getting for large animal groups. As mentioned above, the shield will protect from these types of attacks. Use Rain of Destruction for groups with lots of shields. Use Spread Shot for groups with no shields. Useful Assassin Skills: - Critical Assassination: Necessary to assassinate Captains+. - Shadow Assassin: Necessary to increase damage and convenient auto-loot. - Revelation: Use Ikaros to scout areas/Forts, but this is also helpful for finding smaller treasures that you might have missed. It also lights up corridors, which is helpful in tombs and caves.
I wanted to eat that chicken but it was covered in GREECE. Afterwards I played this game and made MINERVOUS and had to do a poo in my MARBLEOUS toilet. It was a good toilet I took for GRANITE. Too much information? Well then my APOLLO-GEES! I had to ZEUS the toilet.
Odessey is an amazing game so far. It gives the player a freedom that no other AC did before. For the next one it would be cool if the choice of gender would also have an impact on the story.
Am I the only one who was majorly disappointed that there wasn't an achievement called: " This. Is. SPARTA!" I Thought kicking enough enemies would unlock it, or kicking someone in Sparta. Kicking them down a pit or off a cliff. But noooooooo.
There's no choice in Syndicate, you play as both Jacob and Evie. Odyssey lets you choose who to play as between Kassandra and Alexios. Not the same thing.
Shubhankar Parijat then the wording should have been rephrased. Since Syndicate was first to let you play as a female protagonist to my knowledge. But glad so far that Odyssey isn’t too woke..... yet
The exact wording is: "Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is also the first game in the series that lets you decide whether you want to play as a man or a woman." Which is exactly true.
the assassinations are so satisfying, you just hide in a bush and whistle and swiftly kill each and every one of your enemies. Beautiful, its hard to explain how addictive this game is well done ubisoft, very cool.
Yeah i noticed that to but maybe on the 5th we will see a day 1 patch and I encounter a issue I was stuck like the game froze but other then that it's the only problem I seen

14: Get crowd control moves
13: Get healing
12: Get shield breaker
11: Remember to parry/dodge
10: Pay attention to armor buffs
9: Engravings are a thing
8: You can upgrade gear
7: Do enemy camps/fortresses
6: Faction wars are basically unimportant sidequests
5: No difference between Kass/Alexios (besides minor armor aesthetics)
4: Use non-lethal for recruiting
3: Collect tablets for ship upgrades
2: There's stuff underwater
1: Check for new sidequests
tl;dr for anyone who isn't completely clueless since this is basically a beginners guide:
Spartan Kick, Shield Breaker, and Healing are extremely good skills.
@@ccdabud1396 you cant actually sell them, when you go to the sell section at the blacksmith they wont be there
So I know this is old but I just got this game cause it’s on sale, the thing I just found out is if you deplete an enemies health bar with spartan kick it knocks them out allowing you to recruit them without having to run down their health, hide, and then knock them out if you can’t do it outright, also you can recruit mercenaries which seem to be some of the best recruits
Can also get ikaros to attack them and deplete health. Hovering over them also tells you the quality of the npc and what they bring to the table.
Hell Yeah. I had max bounty after I killed a leader. Got their attention, climbed a cliff and kicked most of them off 😂
If you concentrate more on the stealth type of gameplay (I have pretty much all equipment perks and ability points put to stealth), using the Rush Assassination ability is pretty useful.
As with naval battles don't board the ship, instead just ram it and sink it, still get the goodies...

Tool tips do tell you to do things they think players will find cool though. Literally every action game I've played, actually.
Actually I’m pretty sure there is one tip about the spartan kick lol
These “things you didn’t know” vids about new games that pop up on all gaming channels usually have the worst actual advice if you play video games somewhat regularly at all lol
True. All the skills he says to get are useless unless you really suck at assassination and stealth. I handle multiple enemies just fine...it's called dodge and just running thr heck away as fast as you can until they give up. xD I crit so hard with all my assassin skills that all the rest are not needed.
@@adakahless not to mention that you're already shown just how useful they can be at the beginning of the game when you're playing as Leonidas
The facts are too obvious I don’t do half of the things he is saying
15 things the game doesn’t tell you: “use parrys and perfect dodges”. It tells you this at the start of the game
If you guys want to upgrade your ships fast, there are about 6 or 7 ruin locations on Lesbos.

The torch is underrated as a weapon. It deals constant fire damage and normal damage of your primary weapon.
HA! thought I was the only one to utilize the torch! I throw it at snakes and set them on fire as well as hit wolves with it and set them ablaze. its great against animals. ALso, shoot the vases of oil in camps with fire arrow or chuck torch at them and set the camp ABLAZE!!!!

Here are some of my tips
- if you’re not very good at naval combat you can leave the helm of the ship and block the enemy ships path and most of the time, in my experience, it stops the ship allowing you to swim to it and use normal combat
- Spartan kick isn’t the best ability in the combat area but if you have points to spare you should get it as it is useful to stop unstoppable attacks
- rolling around stops fire on your character
-if a lynx jumps on your back roll around to get it off
-upgrade the second wind (healing if I got the name wrong) as soon as possible so you can gain half your health back and gets rid of debuffs
And now a tip for post game
-finally, if you unlock Deimos as a lieutenant, use the call of arms ability to summon him/her into combat as they use the same moves from the boss battle in the end of chapter 8
You can also hire the mercenaries by knocking them out with the Spartan kick ability. Some are legendary status and really help your ship
@Redh3n productions and writing Yeah. Mercenaries will be your best bet for legendary recruits. I just fight them until they're one or two hits away from death and kick them to knock them out instead.
Am i the only one that chooses alexios
I did!! I was more interested in watching a guy than a girl. Probably cause I am a girl.
I chose alexios because its more immersive
TarantuLando CalCuLingus agreed, wanted to be more accurate (not that females didn’t fight back then) unlike BF5
Nope i did too. I am a straight male and i always get the male character. It helps with immersion and role playing when i relate with the protagonist. Judging by the comments though...that makes 5 of us that chose Alexios.
Nope. I did the same thing
Here’s a real actual tip. I’ve heard even some reviews say “you can’t leave your ship whenever” yes you can hold Y or Triangle and you can there did your job for you Gamingbolt
Chase Carter
They mean if your in combat, thats when you can't leave your ship
Seriously?! I'm trying this as soon as I get home. I thought since O is how you leave smaller boats, it'd make sense for that to be the same button to leave your ship whenever. That will make it SOOO much easier to explore small islands than having to find the nearest dock and travel from there.
When I hit a perfect dodge I always go behind the enemy to confuse him
It also deals more damage
Man I'm playing it now and damn near every enemy has a resistance to my spartan kick. They just won't fly off as easy as earlier game
I’m at level 14, but this morning I came head to head with a level 35 mercenary and by the grace of god somehow I survived. We have a lonnnng way to go before beating this game my friends.
So the same game play it's takes as origins? 🤔

I reckon itd go back to the assassins and templars soon, just got that feeling
Mike Johnson I was about to call you dumb for saying that but you have a point. But soon the series needs to focus back on the struggle between assassins and templars because they are what determine the world order. Also I feel like with how Ac is going now the Isu are somehow gonna be brought back because they seem to be orchestrating every thing even from so far in the past there has to be some kind of bigger threat then just the Assassins and Templars fighting
yeah... did you not play AC3? it's that whole extinction event thing...
You shouldn’t ignore the big battles. If you side with the invading forces, after the big battle, you get two pieces of epic gear
DutchPlayss i just completed the first region battle so now it went from Athenian control to Spartan control. After running around in the same region, all the bases that i cleared out in prep for the battle are now basically reset but with Spartans. The resources are reset also. I cleared a base and it depleted the purple control meter.
So, it looks like you might be able to just keep flipping the same region over and over
@@joshuasmith4018 Yeah, you can continuously flip the regions over and over. It's kinda funny, but good xp.
It's certainly an easy way to get the two spartan/Athenian fort objectives, 5 of each one's.
I consider myself really good at Odyssey and still found this really helpful. The underwater ruins are the one things I completely ignore but I can assume based on this, you can find some cool ship skins 👏

The spartan kick stops being useful at higher levels(30+)
Agreed. Great at first, less important later on
Needs crowd control skills in last game
I recommend getting poseidons trident and then engraving the legendary engravement "Breathe Underwater". It helps alot
The spartan kick is most useful when mercenaries are after you in a ship. 1: in a ship it lowers the mercenarie's level by like 3. 2: you can kick them off and they will eventually drown so you dont really have to fight them.
"Things they don't tell you... Use your abilities. Use your brain when equiping gear. Complete map objectives." Gee, thanks.
I feel like people give this game crap for no reason other than nostalgia. I personally love this game and Greek history/mythology. This game was one of my favorites
this is by far the best game in the AC Saga.
I wouldn’t call it an AC game. More like... Malakas Creed
I always pick Kassandra. She's wicked hot, and entertaining.
This video is the equivalent of telling me I was never told to breathe.

Fun fact: athens only use shield not spartans
So when goin against spartan (on conquest battles) replace shield breaker
not really, the spartan captains use shields.

I want the Spartans to win but sometimes i fight with the Athenians because they’ll give me more gear lol
Dont worry, they will win :D no spoilers, just history :D
You are true mercenary)))
shield brake skill should be unlocked as soon as possible because you have a better chance at beating stronger enemies, as well as to deal damage to non-shield ones.
Anglo-Saxon Connor well said
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Extremely good game but has nothing to do with assassins creed
Hell there aren't any templars, no assassins, less stealth and more combat, you can't put mind the ai it's all about the numbers (as it should be in a rpg, I know but..) AND this is what's the most tilting.
More like ‘here’s 15 abilities we used whilst playing the game’
Title: Things which odyssey never tells you

Gender does play a role though. Kassandra is definitely a more memorable character based on dialogue alone.
Only bcs she's a woman
They have the exact same dialogue. Almost word for word.
I like her accent. :3
An actual trick in Odyssey where you could beat any mercenary (even if their levels are high):
-Get his/her attention
-Quickly climb a Temple of some god/goddess.
They should have just called this game “Odyssey” and started fresh with a new universe
That would've been cool ar
Tbh yeah
But only odyssey wouldn’t be the best but it’s fine
You never had to level up or farm for gear until origins. Have you even played the games bro?
Y’all want something that actually helps you? Shoot enemies that go invisible with a poison arrow a few times and you will be able to see where they are
As long as there's no microtransactions then I'm happy
There are, but not required to fully experience or complete the game.
Edit: Some people would still enjoy the tons of hours in the base game :/
It's so funny to look at your profile pic looking at the big word microtransaction
There are, but I'm pretty sure they're for cosmetics
Its filled up, even more than origins.

Still a dumb ass point to bring up in a "THINGS THE GAME DOESN'T TELL YOU" video.
Useful Archer Skills:
- Devastating Shot: You can usually kill grunts with a headshot, but Captains+ will require a little more omph.
Useful Assassin Skills:
- Critical Assassination: Necessary to assassinate Captains+.
- Shadow Assassin: Necessary to increase damage and convenient auto-loot.
- Revelation: Use Ikaros to scout areas/Forts, but this is also helpful for finding smaller treasures that you might have missed. It also lights up corridors, which is helpful in tombs and caves.

so AC Syndicate has been eliminated from the timeline?
There's no choice in Syndicate, you play as both Jacob and Evie. Odyssey lets you choose who to play as between Kassandra and Alexios. Not the same thing.
Shubhankar Parijat then the wording should have been rephrased. Since Syndicate was first to let you play as a female protagonist to my knowledge.
But glad so far that Odyssey isn’t too woke..... yet
The exact wording is: "Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is also the first game in the series that lets you decide whether you want to play as a man or a woman."
