Mam Wellcome to India and it's culture, and this is the music which has been reverberating in our land for thousands of years ,yes it is classical but not practiced together ,since the basic notes (raga) are fixed , that's about 10 percent but the rest "rag vihar "( that is, the basic notes taking 'flights of fancy") is spontaneous improvisation, now as far as Rakesh Sharma not being Ustaad or Guru ,mam in India he is called 'Pandit' as all masters are called after reaching certain mastery over their discipline . And mam, he also teaches as well as others .

Rahul Sharma is son of Great Santoor player Shri Shivkumar Sharma ( santoor is wildly played in Kadmir of India ) & zakir Hussain is son of ustad Allah rakha the great tabla player. (Ustad means expert or master of )
