Efra... Great Video... Loved it. I've been requesting since eons, that u guys need to do an entire Feature Friday on instruments doing face-offs with each other (what we call Jugalbandi), like u saw between Tabla and Santoor. I had also recommended some 5-6 videos for u guys to consider as well.
Please try and delve into that facet of Indian music as well. I guarantee u, it's like none other u hav experienced before.
Zakir Hussain is a pride of India 🇮🇳
You HAVE to react to Zakir Hussain and Rahul Sharma - Tabla and Santoor
What a performance
lmao Efra is totally geeking out and I'm all for it
Wonderful, you might wanna check his father ustad Alla rakha and Pt Ravishankar colab. 1967 at Monterey.
I love their UA-cam channel because of their passion for music and learning so much about actually after joining their channel i learnt so much as well.❣️❣️❣️❣️
React to more "jugalbandi" of musical instruments
First this is not collaboration. He is mentoring Marcus. And second tabla sargam is different then vocal sargam.
😄 Okay, but still he needs more explanation what you have explained
Love this reaction Efra. Get well soon Waleska :)
It is not a collaboration , Zakir is actually mentoring Marcus , BTW nice reaction ❤️🙌
The vocabulary/grammar for percussion is totally different when compared to Ragas. Check "Konnakol" for more on the language of percussion.
Okk efra... I will recommend u most loved songs by Indians..
1 . Kadale kadale( frm 96..a telugue movie)
2 . Kannunam kalyanam(frm sitaraman.. a telugue movie. Which u must watch)
3 . Tu hi re ( by hariharan frm bombay... Almost everyone love it)
You should react to Tha Dhim. It’s a performance of 60 percussionists from India and it’s a fusion of all the different rhythmic instruments of India
Love to hear your dad's take on these clips eff
You start feeling western music from feet to head. & Indian music from head to feet..
We need to see you join up with an Indian percussionist and see what you guys come up with.
This was cool...I had made this comment before as well but if you get a chance, you should also look at Shakthi performances especially the older ones where from Percussion perspective Zakir is working with Vikku Vinayakam on Ghatam (which is very much a Carnatic instrument while Tabla is usually more of a Hindustani one) and some of those interactions are crazy...Of course, Shakthi has masters all across and the music itself is awesome...Do check out the tracks like 'What need do I have for this', 'Get Down and Shruti' etc. and you would quickly be lifelong fans of John McLaughlin and his band of crazy geniuses
In language it is grammer ,vocabulary n also figures of speech ....
Listen to Anuja kamat she has done lesson on Indian classical music
thank you for reacting to indian songs.please react to ennodu nee irundhaal from movie " i ",it has magic in it,beautiful melody .An ar rahaman musical
I think you should check out Anoushka Shankar next.
Anoushka Shankar e Patricia Kopatchinskaja - Raga Piloo
Sargam is much older than Tabla because all notes of Sargam are traced back to thousands of years back, where Tabla is comparatively modern. But both are very different in nature. You can't use that interchangeable. Both have different textures.

If you combine Hindusthani and carnatic percussion knowledge, it's greater than the rest of the world. Because it is developed in thousands of years time .
It's not music but sound, other way noise.
Music is an emotion. I am a fan of yours. I just wonder how it would be if you allowed yourself to feel the essence of a piece without being so self absorbed in what you want to say. I know pausing is necessary for a UA-cam video but how can you react to something when it's chopped up in tiny little bits? Your opinion is necessary, that's why I'm here but not everything is necessary. Or there wouldn't be such a thing as editing. I'm not hating. You'll remind me of my sister and I. As musicians, I'm hoping you understand my point. Sometimes it honestly feels like you're trying to get the video to a certain length. Anyway enough whining, all the best to you and a get well soon too. Keep it real
If you want to know more about sargam..... please watch malayalam semi classical songs...... that will be easy to understand.....
