Zakirji- I have been blessed to witness you and beloved L. Shankar play together on three separate occasions.
Once in Marin, at an outdoor theater; it was so beautiful.
At the Hearst Theater in S.F., marvelous.
And at the Julia Morgan Theater in Berkeley, which was so intimate and beyond words. Just phenomenal.
The two of you are incomparable to me; another level of performance and musical expression.
I am so sad that there seems to be no connection between the two of you anymore.
Truly a shame and a loss for the universe.

He makes a comment about wigs at 25:46… L Shankar has a strange blonde/red wig fetish these days. I suspect personality conflicts, or eccentric behavior might distract from the seriousness of the music. Or perhaps L Shankar is too busy w his own projects to commit to Shakti?

it would be wonderful to have Shakti play at Womadelaide as Ravi and Anoushka Shankar did a number of years ago, as far as I know, they have never played in Australia, Zakir has played there twice and can testify what a lovely setting it is, very spiritual and appreciative audiences. .

It is all about universal love and joy, so why is the beloved maestro not involved in any way?
Every time I hear you talk about him, it is about the past, how you couldn't reach him, and had no response.
But what about since then? He is here on earth still, there are now cell phones and internet. So why is he simply still dropped from the Shakti family?
That I don't understand, and would love to know.

I want to know too. There is a full recital recorded in studio and uploaded last month of L Shankar (spelled L Shenkar) with Vikku and Selva. L Shankar has a strange blonde/red wig thing going on. He could genuinely be too busy to commit to Shakti, but there could also be a personality clash? Selva knows the reason I guess but won’t say it clearly. Zakir makes a comment about wigs at 25:46. But I don’t think that wig thing would be good enough reason to not invite him back.
