Personally i love the more subtle, realistic armor and clothing styles in ESO, although i can see why it'd turn some people off. I feel like there are enough mega pauldrons in mmos these days, y'know?
Im saying that if my character can't reach up and scratch his ear without impaling the side of his face on his pauldron then maybe things have gona a bit too far 🙄😅
What? There is NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING realistic about ESO armors. Elder Scrolls armors? Sure, but not ESO. They aren't massive, but the proportions of armors are all wrong, so much so that most armors look and feel like outfits rather than armor. Compare it to the armors of a medieval knight. A cuirass is a cuirass and clearly looks like armor at first glance, as do the gloves, pauldrons, neck armor etc. So much of this is missing in ESO. Is there even one proper looking cuirass? Even Wow's armora, unrealistic though they may be, look more like armor than (most) esos armors.. Unless they did aome changes in Summerset and Elsweyr expansions, which I doubt.

Gods I remember when they hit the game, they just NUKED zergs. Then Zeni nerfed them too much, then it yo-yoed. I think...it's been a while tho...by then people just started learning a bit more and showing up in larger numbers, so it just didn't matter.
I just got back into ESO again (like 3 days ago) and so far am very impressed (and a bit overwhelmed). So I'd love to see more ESO content on your channel. 👍👍👍
I just got back into this game a few weeks ago and am really enjoying taking my time with the questing and listening to all to dialogue and story. Even the side quests are super fun and interesting. So nice to not do any kill 20x this mob and gather this item stuff. Also found that the DLC dungeons are a lot harder and more fun. Really great game.
I wouldn't mind seeing more ESo videos. I don't play the game myself, but it seems pretty good. I would like to see more instances, and especially the ones later in the game.
Well all non dlc dungeons even on veteran hardmode is not that hard. Its harder on dlc vet hm. If you even going to try ESO don't listen to people who will say oh your CP is only 160 you cant do DLC vet hm. You can its just you have to be good. I've done most of DLC vet hm contect on my tank when I just got to 160 with guildies, because what I find frustrating in ESO is a lot of people seems to be clueless about basic things in MMORPG's. You try to tell him people how to succeed, but they just ignores you. So if you want some good PVE dungeon/raid exp you need to get a guild which has a decent skilled players. I played only 3weeks to hit my 160CP and when you do it with randoms you get some people who been playing game since day 1 and they still don't understand basic things of MMORPG especially when it comes to to skill rotation, resource managment and dodgint/interupting :)
Glad you’re loving eso now, get geared up and try a trial. And then a vet trial! That’s where the really fun content is. I assume you’re playing on EU servers but if you’re on NA I can put a group together for a trial for you if you want.
I quit watching after he said the visual effects and animations were subpar. You can say alot of things about FFXIV but that's blatant lying for the sake of triggering reactions. The whole debacle and how he tried to handle it by lying left such a bad taste in my mouth. It's all very disappointing.

There are more "fancy" outfits in the game, you just gotta get their motifs or unlock the costumes, also skins, some you get from microtransactions others by playing, also the daily gift also gives you microtransaction items for free, also the horse part, just create your alts and share your main gold with them and train the horse upgrades dailly, when you decide to go to alt it will not be as bad
15:55 that ability was thanks to the new Artifact weapon (Volendrung), it can also destroy walls and buffs your stats, its op. Regarding crafting, you don't really need eso+. You get free storage chest at level 18 and first bank / inventory upgrades are quite cheap. You need to know what you should pick up, for example there is no point in picking up basic crafting style materials (racial). Actually you dont even need the special ones unless you do master crafting writs. Also you dont need to pick up every food ingredient, just stick to few of them and level up that way. Or you could make another character and store stuff on that one. ESO+ definitely helps though, but i don't like when people say "it's unplayable without eso+", because it scares away new players who can't afford to pay. You could do veteran dungeon videos (and later veteran DLC, but they are brutal). A Maelstrom arena video (normal or veteran) or more PvP videos (both cyrodiil and bg)

I really like ESO for story and overland content, plenty of variety, housing and making furniture for said houses. There is fishing and achievements for that, crafting, and with grey moor now there is Antiquities, as well as side quests, main quests, dailies, and everything else. Lots and lots of variety, which is really nice for choice.

Great video and review. Tiny, tiny, tiny correction: This game does have tab targeting. They call it preferred targeting and it is mostly secondary to the autotarget system. It has a hybrid system similar to gw2
Been playing for 4 years. I have tried to play comparable mmo’s and I just can’t do it. Nothing looks good enough, nothing feels fluid, nothing has enough depth, everything just feels halfway compared to eso. And even with the huge bugs that come with it, I’ll take those bugs though. They are not even that big of deal when you factor in the amount of content this game give you.

One of the best western mmos out atm. You definatley get your moneys worth. And elswyre has to be one of the best expansions yet. Please new players stick with the game until level 50. I took about a six month break at level 40 just because of fatigue. When I came back to hit 50 I only then realised how epic the game gets when you hit max level and kicked myself for not getting to level fifty sooner.
This got to be some of the best aesthetic and dungeon background I've seen in an MMO. The boss always looks nice because of the zoomed in camera. What I'm worried though is getting into these old MMOs and trying to catch up, however. Hope the ceiling for ESO is not too high for new players.
As someone with roughly 1k hours in eso the ceiling isnt too high theres plenty of stuff for new players under level 50 pve and pvp dungeons, stories etc. And it being 50% off right now you can get the game and all the major addons for about 30 or $40 USD and if you need any help feel free to add me @ryptydee I'm generally working on my newest necromancer and new players are joining every day and leveling is very satisfying and something peon didnt touch on is crafting if that's you're thing there are plenty of crafting trees as well as world skills for different guilds some that increase your sneak and some that just are cool like vampire or werewolf

Dont worry about the character's look,there are so many motif's(style book's) in the game, will take a while to collect them all,and most of them look awesome even the basic one's,everyone can have at least a few that will fit perfectly xD. And the best part u can use light armor and look like a badass warrior with heavy armor with ESO s outfitter!
I got into the game properly over the last month and I actually bought a sub for it. I've _never_ bought a sub for any game. I tried to play it years ago and was put off by the combat, but it is awesome now. I love just playing it like a single player game, taking my time, and letting the immersion consume me. Other players merely bring more life to the world in this play style.
I did the exact same thing I bought a sub twice in a row to get all the dlc which I have never done before it's just super fun I didn't like it at launch but now it's one of my favorite games
When it's told in a well told and interesting way with good voice acting for every single quest dialogue, regardless of whether it's a main quest or a side quest? Yes. I get people are mad about the FF14 video, but your comment is a bit of a stretch. The quests in ESO are amazing, and at times hilarious beacuse of the stories they tell. I tried FF14 but personally found the story to be way too slow moving and not told in a very good way at all. Both cutscenes and voice acting were just boring, felt like I had nothing to look forward to. No real drive to do anything the quest expects me to do, like there was no sense of discovery or excitement while going through them. To each their own though!
@@friarruse1827 While I 100% agree with that on ARR (it's really bad), after the MSQ patches rolled out 6 years ago, and when Heavensward came out, the story really started to shine and gave me the Dragon Quest feel of adventure (I really don't enjoy FF brand). However, when shadowbringers came out, everything changed... character development and writing is completely off the charts, something I've only ever seen on 90's adventure games and the Witcher series. I have yet to play ESO, want to at some point, feels like an improved GW2?! (I do enjoy GW2 mind you, but maybe the 1st series had a bigger impact on me).
Pretty sure peon burned the Lich boss too fast and didn't get to see the dope stained glass window shattering time stoping/reversing move he does. Literally the coolest boss move in the game !
if your on NA and still play the game, im a cp1067 endgame player who can take you through some of the harder content and show you some of the cool visuals that a lot of people dont even know about, also, your gripe with pve being too easy is very true, and its only gets easier as you get more cp and get strong gear, im also a fellow pvp'er and am part of the higher tier of players overall, generally the game is more like a story based mmo with some pretty cool combat and interesting diversity
Got a lot of bad rap for it. It was obvious he made the video just the shut everyone up from asking it from him and he just berated the game and his points were very weak than his usual standard for his videos. So he got a backlash from viewers and ff fans alike.

When you entered cyrodiil and got hit for 17k it was a special artifact item called the volendrung and it was added to destroy zergs and solo/duo castles
ESO armor fits the lore of the game, someone needs to show Peon how to use the motif system because this game has cool armor just not over the top stupid like WoW armor sets. Really grows annoying when players from WoW come to a new mmorpg then say “well That’s not how WoW doesn’t it” just a heads up probably why these games are doing well.

Yeah his video would’ve been fine if somethings were not blatantly wrong (Ex: No Flashy or Impactful Animations). He’s entitled to his own opinions but it just felt like taking advantage of the Early Access drop for extra views. I hope he learns from this and to be more thorough with his reviews in the future.

Example: You can change how the health bars look on enemies in ESO, you can change the user interface so that you can sort items in your inventory based on level or value. modern mmorpgs residentsleeper. everything is made ultra easy, simple, accessible, 5 button combats, personal loot, no challenge, lvl/stat scaling everywhere, player housing, tons of pets and cosmetic irrelevant shit, overpriced toxic cash shops, boosts/premium accounts. GOD HOW I MISS the good old days of real mmorpgs like old wow when u just paid a sub and received everything... and the game was nice with a lot of challenge and no stupid shit like player houses and other stuff made for casual players/normies. i LOVE eso for the world and lore and quests(since im a huge fan of fantasy worlds and elder scrolls especially skyrim are top quality) but the gameplay of that game... just cant.
Use the clothing station to make your character look better And for a second character it would be cool to make a different build, like tank mage or healer rogue

I'm actually really enjoying the realistic Elder Scrolls look - though I'm also not into high fantasy as black desert or final fantasy to be honest. After quitting it on PC after years, I found myself playing it on PS4 now - it plays out surprisingly good with a controller
Correct, I don't think this is a direct quote but the khajiit have a saying about how "home can always be found elsewhere" and so when they came to settle a land that land became Elsweyr based off of that proverb. May have made some mistakes there because my lore is a bit sketchy but I think it's something on those lines
One thing I'd really love to see in your videos is some kind of guess of how long it takes to get to max level, because that's something that I at least personally find to be fairly important to know.
i do like games where the gameplay IS THE leveling .. not like in wow nowdays.. first grind these all 120 lvls then you can start to play. Ps cant wait for vanilla wow :D
Getting to max lvl isn't that big of a deal in ESO, since most of the content scales to your lvl. But if I had to guess I'd say that you could reach champion lvl 160 (the level where gear lvl caps) in about two weeks. CP is account wide, so you only need to lvl your main to CP 160, any alt that you lvl after that get to that CP once they reach lvl 50.

The combat is slow and boring with little to any depth, again, shouldn't have to put in 50 hours for combat to be engaging (WoW, GW2, Wildstar, ESO combat is at least fast and engaging from the get go). His vid was a first impression of him basically leveling and trying to enjoy the game, he put in countless hours and it was hot garbage (I've done the same 3 times and I agree with his impression) For FF fans who aren't necessarily aren't hardcore MMO fans (which I am, and I get the impression Peon is similar) then the slow burn boring as fuck story and gameplay isn't so bad and you can get past it. But otherwise the new player experience is hot shit and he shouldn't feel bad about saying it.
Their voice cast is amazing. Alfred Molina, Kate Beckinsale, Malcolm McDowell, Michael Gambon to name a few. They went all out with voice casting in this game.
i hate scaling and i love it, like i can play all the story lines at the same level of difficulty, but then u return to the early points and u still do the same ratio of damage.. no sense of conquer

templar is amazing and as healer you can always get instant dungeon access :D
There are more "fancy" outfits in the game, you just gotta get their motifs or unlock the costumes, also skins, some you get from microtransactions others by playing, also the daily gift also gives you microtransaction items for free, also the horse part, just create your alts and share your main gold with them and train the horse upgrades dailly, when you decide to go to alt it will not be as bad
15:55 that ability was thanks to the new Artifact weapon (Volendrung), it can also destroy walls and buffs your stats, its op.
Regarding crafting, you don't really need eso+. You get free storage chest at level 18 and first bank / inventory upgrades are quite cheap. You need to know what you should pick up, for example there is no point in picking up basic crafting style materials (racial). Actually you dont even need the special ones unless you do master crafting writs. Also you dont need to pick up every food ingredient, just stick to few of them and level up that way. Or you could make another character and store stuff on that one. ESO+ definitely helps though, but i don't like when people say "it's unplayable without eso+", because it scares away new players who can't afford to pay.
You could do veteran dungeon videos (and later veteran DLC, but they are brutal). A Maelstrom arena video (normal or veteran) or more PvP videos (both cyrodiil and bg)

I really like ESO for story and overland content, plenty of variety, housing and making furniture for said houses. There is fishing and achievements for that, crafting, and with grey moor now there is Antiquities, as well as side quests, main quests, dailies, and everything else. Lots and lots of variety, which is really nice for choice.

Great video and review. Tiny, tiny, tiny correction: This game does have tab targeting. They call it preferred targeting and it is mostly secondary to the autotarget system. It has a hybrid system similar to gw2

Been playing for 4 years. I have tried to play comparable mmo’s and I just can’t do it. Nothing looks good enough, nothing feels fluid, nothing has enough depth, everything just feels halfway compared to eso. And even with the huge bugs that come with it, I’ll take those bugs though. They are not even that big of deal when you factor in the amount of content this game give you.

Please new players stick with the game until level 50. I took about a six month break at level 40 just because of fatigue. When I came back to hit 50 I only then realised how epic the game gets when you hit max level and kicked myself for not getting to level fifty sooner.

This got to be some of the best aesthetic and dungeon background I've seen in an MMO.
The boss always looks nice because of the zoomed in camera.
What I'm worried though is getting into these old MMOs and trying to catch up, however.
Hope the ceiling for ESO is not too high for new players.
As someone with roughly 1k hours in eso the ceiling isnt too high theres plenty of stuff for new players under level 50 pve and pvp dungeons, stories etc. And it being 50% off right now you can get the game and all the major addons for about 30 or $40 USD and if you need any help feel free to add me @ryptydee I'm generally working on my newest necromancer and new players are joining every day and leveling is very satisfying and something peon didnt touch on is crafting if that's you're thing there are plenty of crafting trees as well as world skills for different guilds some that increase your sneak and some that just are cool like vampire or werewolf

Dont worry about the character's look,there are so many motif's(style book's) in the game, will take a while to collect them all,and most of them look awesome even the basic one's,everyone can have at least a few that will fit perfectly xD. And the best part u can use light armor and look like a badass warrior with heavy armor with ESO s outfitter!
I got into the game properly over the last month and I actually bought a sub for it. I've _never_ bought a sub for any game. I tried to play it years ago and was put off by the combat, but it is awesome now.
I love just playing it like a single player game, taking my time, and letting the immersion consume me. Other players merely bring more life to the world in this play style.
I did the exact same thing I bought a sub twice in a row to get all the dlc which I have never done before it's just super fun I didn't like it at launch but now it's one of my favorite games

When it's told in a well told and interesting way with good voice acting for every single quest dialogue, regardless of whether it's a main quest or a side quest? Yes.
I get people are mad about the FF14 video, but your comment is a bit of a stretch. The quests in ESO are amazing, and at times hilarious beacuse of the stories they tell.
I tried FF14 but personally found the story to be way too slow moving and not told in a very good way at all. Both cutscenes and voice acting were just boring, felt like I had nothing to look forward to. No real drive to do anything the quest expects me to do, like there was no sense of discovery or excitement while going through them.
To each their own though!
@@friarruse1827 While I 100% agree with that on ARR (it's really bad), after the MSQ patches rolled out 6 years ago, and when Heavensward came out, the story really started to shine and gave me the Dragon Quest feel of adventure (I really don't enjoy FF brand).
However, when shadowbringers came out, everything changed... character development and writing is completely off the charts, something I've only ever seen on 90's adventure games and the Witcher series.
I have yet to play ESO, want to at some point, feels like an improved GW2?! (I do enjoy GW2 mind you, but maybe the 1st series had a bigger impact on me).
Pretty sure peon burned the Lich boss too fast and didn't get to see the dope stained glass window shattering time stoping/reversing move he does. Literally the coolest boss move in the game !

if your on NA and still play the game, im a cp1067 endgame player who can take you through some of the harder content and show you some of the cool visuals that a lot of people dont even know about, also, your gripe with pve being too easy is very true, and its only gets easier as you get more cp and get strong gear, im also a fellow pvp'er and am part of the higher tier of players overall, generally the game is more like a story based mmo with some pretty cool combat and interesting diversity
i would GREATLY recommend that anyone even slightly thinking of playing ESO should give it a shot!

Got a lot of bad rap for it. It was obvious he made the video just the shut everyone up from asking it from him and he just berated the game and his points were very weak than his usual standard for his videos. So he got a backlash from viewers and ff fans alike.

When you entered cyrodiil and got hit for 17k it was a special artifact item called the volendrung and it was added to destroy zergs and solo/duo castles

ESO armor fits the lore of the game, someone needs to show Peon how to use the motif system because this game has cool armor just not over the top stupid like WoW armor sets.

Yeah his video would’ve been fine if somethings were not blatantly wrong (Ex: No Flashy or Impactful Animations). He’s entitled to his own opinions but it just felt like taking advantage of the Early Access drop for extra views. I hope he learns from this and to be more thorough with his reviews in the future.

@@mariospanayiotou6644 Most MMO's have an option for "add-ons", third party adds that change some graphic within the game to provide ease of access.
Example: You can change how the health bars look on enemies in ESO, you can change the user interface so that you can sort items in your inventory based on level or value. I used to use an addon that tell me when a skill was ready to use again after it's gone on cooldown.

modern mmorpgs residentsleeper. everything is made ultra easy, simple, accessible, 5 button combats, personal loot, no challenge, lvl/stat scaling everywhere, player housing, tons of pets and cosmetic irrelevant shit, overpriced toxic cash shops, boosts/premium accounts. GOD HOW I MISS the good old days of real mmorpgs like old wow when u just paid a sub and received everything... and the game was nice with a lot of challenge and no stupid shit like player houses and other stuff made for casual players/normies.
i LOVE eso for the world and lore and quests(since im a huge fan of fantasy worlds and elder scrolls especially skyrim are top quality) but the gameplay of that game... just cant.

Hey Peon are you playing on the EU or US servers? Server performance is the only thing I hate about this game. Zenimax said they were making massive improvements witht he last dlc but I haven't seen them.
I'm actually really enjoying the realistic Elder Scrolls look - though I'm also not into high fantasy as black desert or final fantasy to be honest. After quitting it on PC after years, I found myself playing it on PS4 now - it plays out surprisingly good with a controller

One thing I'd really love to see in your videos is some kind of guess of how long it takes to get to max level, because that's something that I at least personally find to be fairly important to know.
i do like games where the gameplay IS THE leveling .. not like in wow nowdays.. first grind these all 120 lvls then you can start to play. Ps cant wait for vanilla wow :D
Getting to max lvl isn't that big of a deal in ESO, since most of the content scales to your lvl. But if I had to guess I'd say that you could reach champion lvl 160 (the level where gear lvl caps) in about two weeks. CP is account wide, so you only need to lvl your main to CP 160, any alt that you lvl after that get to that CP once they reach lvl 50.

The combat is slow and boring with little to any depth, again, shouldn't have to put in 50 hours for combat to be engaging (WoW, GW2, Wildstar, ESO combat is at least fast and engaging from the get go).
His vid was a first impression of him basically leveling and trying to enjoy the game, he put in countless hours and it was hot garbage (I've done the same 3 times and I agree with his impression)
For FF fans who aren't necessarily aren't hardcore MMO fans (which I am, and I get the impression Peon is similar) then the slow burn boring as fuck story and gameplay isn't so bad and you can get past it. But otherwise the new player experience is hot shit and he shouldn't feel bad about saying it.

Their voice cast is amazing. Alfred Molina, Kate Beckinsale, Malcolm McDowell, Michael Gambon to name a few. They went all out with voice casting in this game.
i hate scaling and i love it, like i can play all the story lines at the same level of difficulty, but then u return to the early points and u still do the same ratio of damage.. no sense of conquer
