I'm glad Reina del Cid didn't close her YT channel. I've only discovered her recently and she's a phenomenal singer-songwriter. Her collaborations with Josh Turner and Toni Lindgren are a true musical gem at this time. They bring a reconnection to the past, yet make it relevant to now and the near future.
❤El Cordova (a/k/a Reina del Cid) , what an amazing young woman; been following here for as long as I can remember. It has been a wonderful journey following her and watching her (and her cohorts) develop. I AM FAN! 😊
I feel like these talented people are my kids and part of our family because I basically watched them grow up on the internet. These folks represent the very best of what the gifts of technology can be, at least in the arts.
Fantastic interview. I have been following Josh and Reina Del Cid and all the other combinations of "Josh" for some time. What I love about these young folks is that they song the songs-not just the notes. Yes-authenticity matters.
I Think you have highlighted a problem, to many UA-cam watchers Reina Del Cid is a duo of the two girls but Toni Lindgren Gets limited mention she is obviously looked upon as half of the group by UA-cam viewers El COrdova as she now calls her salf would be nowhere without Toni!
Dear You Two: as a frustrated 73-year old wanna-be creative type, what I love (the most) about these chats you have is that they inspire me to try. Yup. That's it. To try. The two of you discussing your anxiety and your procrastination and your struggle not just to be yourselves but to discover yourselves is truly heartening. It reassures me that I'm not the only one ... and never was. I just wish that I'd had some folks like you to hear when I was young. I didn't then, but I do now. So, keep it up. You are lovely human beans. Take very, very good care of yourselves. We need you. But also, just have some fucking fun, will you?! Fun is good. Fun is important. Fun makes life worth living. We need more fun, not more pain. Remember that, especially when you feel yourselves sliding down into the darkness. JT xoxo 😊
With the banter back and forth I feel this should be 'in conversation' rather than 'interviews' you both deserve credit for your creativity insights and harmonious rapport
Thank you for doing this interview. I discovered Reina by accident a few years ago and was astounded by her voice and songwriting. I love hearing the dialogue between you two. I can't explain why, but watching this interview brought me some peace which as we all know is not easy to come by these days. Both of you are so open and honest. It was a real treat!
Well, I know I'm getting old when Reina says "those in their 30's, 40's, EVEN 50's..." From a guy in his 60's excited about this world of digital home studio productions and broad distribution options may I say... O U C H. Still this (as always) is a terrific video, thanks for the candor and great interview!
Mary and “Reina” ... I’m a semi-retired educator and I have discovered the two of you during this crisis. As a teen and young man I loved writing lyrics but stopped as my career got going. You’ve made me consider buying a guitar and starting again. 🤔 I sold my first and only guitar as a poor college student to buy my wife a Christmas gift.
Craig Meredith do it! I didn’t take up guitar until my early 50s. It is now my favorite thing to do. And it’s a Godsend during this COVID lockdown. I highly recommend! 😎👍🏼
Glad you have taken this on saying “this is my job” I’m a 68yo grandmother listening to you for a fresh contact with life. Such a comfort! I also will read your poems,
Wow, I'm completely blown away by Reina & Toni. You can tell how much fun they're having playing. Maybe having Toni on since she's also a UA-camr and an amazing player for a future Tuesday Talk?
My name is Sergio DaCosta. I want Reina Del Cid to know she has a TRUE FAN from originally from Brazil. I am a musician as well, even though my style is pop bossa nova, I enjoy her original songs as well as non-originals such as "rocky racoon". Please keep posting songs.
Thank You for bringing us these Artist Mary, much appreciated. As a practicing guitarist for some 44 years now I am always encouraged and gladdened to see younger Musicians making their way and continuing the Art. Make the world a better place, one note, one song and one listener at a time.
Listening to Reina speak on the Sunday morning videos, and how she stopped after two months but realized that her fans were looking forward to them at the same time and place reminds me of how I became use to Chewsday Talks and how disapointed I was when they somewhat went away. I am so glad to see the two of you together on UA-cam again! I love to watch both of you on UA-cam, and hope you both continue your UA-cam careers. I'm also looking forward to seeing you work together again on some songs! Thank you Leo for introducing me to Mary, and thank you Mary for introducing me to Reina.
It's so cool to see two people I found separately, find each other. This was a very cool interview. I learned a lot about both of you. When you were talking about how her Sunday morning thing gives people a time and place to meet, I couldn't help thinking that is also how I feel about Tuesday Talks. It left a fat and noticeable hole in my week when you stepped away from Tuesdays, and I am so glad that you are back. I'm especially glad that you have brought it back to more interviews, you do that very well. Your mother is right (surprise) when she told you to make content. You are reaching and being a comfort to far more people than you know, or ever could in a hands on way. Thanks for helping make it feel a bit more normal.
Mary I could listen you talk about almost anything for hours. Lovely voice and whichever British accent that is I just adore it. I am also really impressed with your guitar skills. Great channel.
I am in a comic industry,I draw comics for living and we are being afflicted for sure as new comics are not being distributed or shipped right now. But music has always been my second love and you guys, you music creators can surely help us and heal our shattered souls.Keep creating! Keep giving us hope!
Great content. I really hope more musicians will find the courage to make videos or livestreams in these difficult times. It will probably not look so smooth as Mary's or Reina's content but if you are an authentic musician that will be enough. Watching UA-cam content from famous and less famous musicians gives me comfort in these dire times.
I just found Reina a few weeks ago and I've been watching every video I can find of hers. What a GREAT interview this was! I learned SO much! Thank you Mary!!!!!!
I’m so glad you two have finally got together, something really good is going to come out of it. I’m a big fan of both of you and Toni, whatever you produce always lifts my spirits.
Mary Spender , i had never even heard your name before catching you with Reina , on youtube. Good for you. You are sweet , n i loved your vid S.O.S. . Been following Reina long time. Met the whole crew last summer ... Just subsribed. Best wishes. And thank you so much 💘
Fantastic. Two of the best contemporary musical artists and masters of the UA-cam medium. What a privilege to have such talented people producing so much great material. Thank you, Mary and Reina, for all you do!
Love both original and covers. I think it's Larkin Poe who says covers build their base of music knowledge. So do as many covers as you can if only to build your core, which will help you develope new originals.
Y'all are two of my favorite UA-cam musicians. What a great interview. I know it was just a misspeak, but I got a chuckle out of Reina saying that she would procrastinate during college and wait until the last night to write a 3000 page essay. I know she meant 3000 word, but it was just funny to hear 3000 pages in one night. I think this is my favorite Tuesday talk. Please keep them coming
I want to thank both of you for making me think really deep about how I’m spending my time during the pandemic. I’m not going to get real deep but it has been a personal journey into where I am and how am spending my time and that I can be more.
Another great conversation Mary! I'm looking forward to more colabs between you and RDC. 😊 different styles but very similar processes and end goals for creating. I definitely agree that Toni needs more vids! Should I mention the beautiful shiny black hollowbody waving (taunting me almost) at me from the corner of the screen?😋
Wow, that was really good, 50 minutes and I never got bored( and I was sitting on a hard ass wooden chair too), just captivating stuff, I've watched all of Reina's videos, lots of them many times. I've commented many times how much I enjoy the music and the incredible talent but also she and Toni's wonderful smiles. Great to get some insight on the process and so interesting to hear the stories of how things got started, really enjoyed this, thank you for taking the time!! And by the way I'm another old fart fan, just turned 60.
Very interesting story! Thanks for sharing. Yes, I am a Japanese touring musician/guitar teacher, and everything is stooped now, so trying to learn youtube to deliver my music. Great show, ARIGATO!
You are both national treasures! I am 62 and am a less well read and not as well read as you but I’m trying to do the creative writing at 62 years old! Yes, I think we need to say more good things about Toni, because she deserves it! Dedicated, hard-working, talented and committed, and we get to hear to hear the results regularly. Thank-you Toni.
Reina please just create. Don't put constraints on yourself based on what you think other people's expectations are. Feels kinda weird to watch this in late 2024 from Germany. Despite all the bad things happening in 2020 globally, you can feel the optimism and I remember I had this too, all the good things coming out of that time. And it's sad to see we've thrown over lots of the good things and now collectively close our eyes before it. However despite of that, it's really inspiring and warming to see you to chat about music. Thanks.
I agree with you Reina, You can be on anything and it does't make or not make you a touring artist. I don't go out of city of Nashville, and Murfreesboro. I love it that way. and your to goood not to keep your friends on the tube. You and Toni are awesome, love the Sunday and/or Tuesday or when ever. I have the app that follows Reina del Cid and Mary I like your shows also. Keep on pickin and grinnin from Nashville, Tn. God bless
Precious interview! I discovered Reina and Toni with Sunday Morning Session and since then I've bought all their CDs. Besides, I agree with you about state-of-the art devices. Keith Richards once said that great music doesn't have much to do with them. You can apply that, to a certain extent, to videos as well.
Mary, your mom is 100% right. People need to be entertained - it is, actually, important work. Thank you for your great content - I especially love these interviews. Thanks as always and keep up the awesome work!
Hello Mary ~ I've been a subscriber of yours for some time and I enjoy your videos; but, this interview with Reina Del Cid was really terrific. It covered so many topic and provided tremendous insights into both of you as musicians. I've also been a subscriber of Reina Del Cid's for a year or so and I really love her music. Your insightful questions helped me to know her and her music much better. Thanks a million.
You guys had me fooled! Tuesday's talks and The Sunday morning series seemed so organic. I figured there was preparation, but it also came so much off the cuff. How cool, love y'alls music please don't stop, I've learned so much, and you guys make it look so easy, glad to see a little work goes into it.
It's amazing. Just think if it wasn't for you tube. You guys wouldn't have met and I wouldn't know who either of you. It has made the world a little smaller
More relaxed chatting between two great people. I would stick with the genuine content you both talk about it shows through and makes watcheing/listening much more engaging and worth coming back for.
Hi Mary and Maria. From what you both are speaking of, In my opinion, I think that what you feel and flows from your heart in a creative, passionate, and truthful way is the essence of the poem, video, or content that you post. Post it, let it free, your essence is non negotiable. Flow with it and enjoy the trip!! Congratulations both of you on your careers!!
Remember, if you are going to spend money improving something audio is more important than video. A good video with bad audio is unusable, the converse is fine.
This was a really good video - so much relatable stuff, and very encouraging for someone just dipping their toes into UA-cam. And I have a ticket to that London show, so fingers crossed it happens soon! Health and happiness to you both

Haha woah, that thumbnail is like ‘Mary interviews her American twin’ 😂
That’s exactly what I thought
Reina is great! and Toni is an impressive guitar player. Maybe Mary should interview Toni too.
Yes Mary, if Toni is in, please interview her. and have her bring her guitar also

'human beans' - 'Beans?' Pretty sure that's a MST3k riff. An announcer guy on tv....now if I could just remember the movie!
