You have a lot of male fans commenting on here, so I just want to shout out that as a female aspiring singer-songerwriter working on my first EP, you are one of my go-to 'spiritual counsellors' and a major musical inspiration, despite my genre being very different from yours! Thank you for being you, and for your stunning voice and music.

"Mary talking" videos are among my favorites. Smart, direct, knowledgeable. May the music video company continue to thrive and prosper. You've been extraordinarily careful NOT to reveal anything about your love life. I assume you think it's none of our business, and you're correct. I never noticed the switch of ring fingers. I always assumed your nose ring was real, and am happy that you dispensed with it. I've always used a pick, but don't just strum or play chords, which seems (to me) a kind of hybrid technique. Next time you're in the states, Mary, catch a Larkin Poe show if you can - two women of about your age, one with an operatic alto voice, the other an excellent slide guitar player. Their blues rock/hard rock style is not at all like yours, but you have similar musical backgrounds (starting at an early age, though they went public a decade sooner).
Hello Mary, I've been enjoying your content for several years now. I'm so happy to hear that you are able to do what you love for a living. I've been a full time gigging musician for about 29 years and I'm still loving it. I think that you are fortunate to have grown up in a a time that someone with real talent (like yourself) can make a living from their own music done their way without having to bow down to the record labels. You are proof of that fact.

Hi Mary. Just watched your entire back log . Had COVID and so had plenty of time in quarantine. Thought I might go bampot, but then I discovered your channel. Thank you God for Mary Spender.
Greetings from one "baby blonde turns into brunette" to another. I started out as a platinum blonde, turned into a brunette which began turning ever darker in my 20s. Then it started turning Grey and fell out. And I started playing guitar because I liked the way a wooden acoustic guitar smelled. Good luck!!! 😅
As someone who has been singing playing guitar and and a few other instruments for over thirty years with a wide range of methods of turning music into money for many years (original/cover bands, metal, funk, d'n'b, acoustic, pubs, festivals, busking, cruise ships, Mexican restaurant rooftops in Thailand, more adventures than I can even dare to recall) and though I don't make my living through music alone anymore (my choice) I just find you so disarming Mary. There's such an understated wonder and humble charm in your delivery, and while picking up a guitar in the early 90s wasn't going to hurt my chances.... I still play every day because I love it more than anything, and even in my living room the looping tasks I set upon myself are just silly, but eventually nailing it is not silly. Thanks for inspiring me to think about why I love music so much. And just quietly let out a sigh of relief...that's not an engagement ring 🤟😉🤘 Keep it up Mary. You're top tier 🎸🎹🎵
Cracking film Mary. The thing about your channel, you manage to mix the personal with the performative with ease. Oh, and you are so, so easy on those who make wild and provocative assumptions.
No, don't do it! Don't go blonde. I guess I'm not a gentleman since I prefer brunettes. (I'm sure she's concerned about being attractive to me.). Thanks for the answers to these burning questions!
I have another assumption: Your voice is so soothing, you were recorded while reading a dictionary. This record is sold to people with sleeping issues.
This video was a chuckle! I usually try not to make assumptions Mary... but here's one I'm pretty confident in making: those people making assumptions about you actually know nothing about you.
Mary, I've Been Watching You on UA-cam Ever Since "The Look!" On Your Leo/Dire Straits Cover. Although I've Never Touched A Guitar, I Love And Appreciate What You Do! Mike, From St. Louis, Missouri.

And just quietly let out a sigh of relief...that's not an engagement ring 🤟😉🤘
Keep it up Mary. You're top tier 🎸🎹🎵
Happy for you to have all you want, do what you want and for your dream of a music album to come true. You do good work and you earned it!!
Just listened to Lizzy McAlpine-Ceilings. She has a lovely voice. Thanks for the intro.
4:21 You'd think people wouldn't assume this after 30+ years of the "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" era being dead and gone
Cracking film Mary. The thing about your channel, you manage to mix the personal with the performative with ease. Oh, and you are so, so easy on those who make wild and provocative assumptions.
People are silly 😂
Also, 1st!
Haha - well to be honest I encouraged it!
Mary thanks for this...as guitar players we appreciate what you are doing....brilliant
No, don't do it! Don't go blonde. I guess I'm not a gentleman since I prefer brunettes. (I'm sure she's concerned about being attractive to me.). Thanks for the answers to these burning questions!
Thanks for sharing Mary. You are a pleasure and your channel is a wonderful channel.
To me, nose rings distract from the face. Ear rings accent the face. Maybe I'm just too old! But Mary, you are beautiful inside and out.
Under 30 and agreed.
Mary, I've Been Watching You on UA-cam Ever Since "The Look!" On Your Leo/Dire Straits Cover. Although I've Never Touched A Guitar, I Love And Appreciate What You Do! Mike, From St. Louis, Missouri.
Nose ring no thank you, much nicer without.........
What a beautiful personality you have. Very down to earth and gentle demeanor…and those eyes! Gorgeous..😍
I think you look better without the nose ring. Maybe I'm just too old to appreciate face jewelry.
Me too, The music is what counts
You know what they say about assumptions. Only you're far from being the anything but a wonderful person. You are true to yourself and your viewers. Istayed watching you after your collaboration with Leo on the Sultans of Swing cover. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Refreshing in my humble opinion. Thank you MS.
Honest and Authentic ... WTG Mary Spender! Continued success in all you do.
