Of those who were capable, a lot of them had no interest in linking the flame, such as Logan and his apprentice. Then, to link the flame you have to first reach Lordran. This alone is where most great warriors failed already, many perished before even reaching Lordran alone, let alone leading an entire raiding party inside without being separated by drakes, demons, hollows. Not to mention that Gwyn was probably not stupid enough to leave his kingdom open to attack by any upstart warlord, so the land of Lords probably had many standing and effective defenses against invading armies (take the knights in darkroot garden for example). Also keep in mind that most npcs you meet ingame are of Legend (even the crestfallen warrior is no small pushover), with the chosen undead being one of the most powerful humans to have ever existed by the end of the game by that point in time. Astora, one of the most advanced of the human kingdoms in the game, was almost destroyed entirely by a single great beast, who likely would have been on par with many of the opponents faced in Lordran. So to perform a task like that, you'd need scouts who can effectively traverse Lordran without getting killed to avoid traps and ambushes, a way to bypass Gwyn's anti-siege defenses, an army of warriors capable of holding their own against adversaries even Gwyn's own knights struggled to keep at bay. And none of that is keeping in mind the effects of hollowing, or the massive amounts of resources an army of that size and power would require, even a small raiding party of powerful knights is something most kings could only dream of putting together. His other attacks can be interrupted. Pretty much every time you see him get staggered, it's because he tried to do a different attack. His thrust is his only move that can't be interrupted. In other words, he'd actually win more easily if he only used his thrust.
@@giantWario but he gets staggered multiple times doing the thrust, in the early part of round 3, fucking griggs of vinheim staggers him with a dagger as he's pulling back for the thrust
@@FabledStone the way staggering works, a dozen tiny attacks are better than single strong ones when artorias staggers the npcs they have actually time to recover between his attacks plus he often changed targets because it's just a simple AI while all the npcs have a single target they're constantly hammering on it's more about the fact he kills most of them in 2-3 attacks but because of the stagger he can only really use his thrust so the chances of hitting the same npc 2-3 times are significantly lower
@@brohvakiindova4452 Thats not really how staggering works but because of the sheer number attacks your explanation checks out. How staggering really works is that Artorias has 130 poise when not charging in the Abyss. That means a total of 131+ poise damage needs to be delt in the timeframe of 5 seconds for Artorias to stagger. So while true that the sheer number of small attacks did stagger Artorias, a single 2 handed Zweihander does more poise damage than three 2 handed Uchigatana attacks. And you can get the Zwei attack off faster than 3 Uchi's. Also Logan's Soul Spear does 80 poise damage leaving only 51 poise left over to be delt which either of the Sieg family could do with one 2 handed attack.
@@DorrionFinley you just explained that's exactly how staggering works I specifically said a dozen tiny attacks, of course a single player with uchi doesn't stagger as reliable as with harder hitting zweihänder 5 seconds is plenty of time for that many npcs to attack and the way the AI really sucks at positioning itself correctly for multiple attacks the faster hitting weapons do a better job stun locking that being said with the sheer number of NPCs, if all were using zweihänder it would be equally as good most likely for player weapon an estoc works similarly good for poise breaking as an UGS or in DS2 dual wielded clubs also wreck almost any staggerable enemy

"I am sorry, Artorias, but as a Knight of Gwyn, I cannot let such a powerful pawn of the Abyss escape. Come back to your senses and surrender now, or prepare to face us." If Young Sif dies during the fight, Artorias comes back to his senses, drops to his knees and, after crying for a while, he asks you to kill him. If Artorias is killed by Ciaran, cinematic with Ciaran stabbing both of her blades in Artorias, and whispering to him that his legend would not be sullied by a mention of his treason. If Sif kills him, Artorias falls to the ground, gives Sif a last headpat and tells her that she's a true warrior, one that defeated even Artorias. If the player defeats Artorias, "I don't know who you are, but please, finish what I started. Take down Manus, who I was tasked to stop"
At the end of Ooacile, when all hope seemed lost, a small group of brave warriors marched through the garden, past the Kalameet, and into the place where Knight Artorias finally descended into a abyss made madness. No one knew why they came or how they came to be in the land, nor could anyone understand why they all worked together so well, with magic, miracles, pyromancy, and blades as far as the eye can see, they should of been at each other’s throat or indifferent to one another, but here they stood, marching towards the abyss. @@chankatime6861 I really don't think gaping dragon or O&S would stand much of a chance. You saw what happened to normal-HP Artorias, and those other bosses are much weaker.
All the locations though, I could see them dying with their current braindead AI. Just straight up walking into entirely avoidable deaths.
What I would find interesting is a party of all firelink peeps but played by actual people. No respawns. No leveling. Just roleplaying and teamwork.

Lol. Yeah. He just starts running out of nowhere, then B lines it to Artorias with his little sword only to get immediately pulverized.
The way he ran gives off the exact same energy as that video of the guy recording a fight with his laptop

I was also quite surprised with how long Crest Fallen lasted in round 3. He likes to parry, can't parry this boss.

@@jankasolis61 with the fume knights absurd resistances health and damage firelink shrine wouldn’t stand a chance.
Ngl, considering how only 1 actual knight (crestfallen as well) is among them and the rest are merchants... RIP Majula against any boss... Maybe they could beat Last Giant or Covetous Demon, but I got major doubts against DLC bosses.
That whole 3rd round I was screaming at the screen:
"Stop doing the thrust attack!"
His other attacks can be interrupted. Pretty much every time you see him get staggered, it's because he tried to do a different attack. His thrust is his only move that can't be interrupted. In other words, he'd actually win more easily if he only used his thrust.
@@giantWario really? I didn´t know that

imagine this but, like artorias is immune to stagger.
would they even have a chance even at normal hp?
only fair if all of Firelinkshrine is immune to stagger as well
@@FabledStone the way staggering works, a dozen tiny attacks are better than single strong ones
when artorias staggers the npcs they have actually time to recover between his attacks plus he often changed targets because it's just a simple AI while all the npcs have a single target they're constantly hammering on
it's more about the fact he kills most of them in 2-3 attacks but because of the stagger he can only really use his thrust so the chances of hitting the same npc 2-3 times are significantly lower
@@DorrionFinley you just explained that's exactly how staggering works
I specifically said a dozen tiny attacks, of course a single player with uchi doesn't stagger as reliable as with harder hitting zweihänder
5 seconds is plenty of time for that many npcs to attack and the way the AI really sucks at positioning itself correctly for multiple attacks the faster hitting weapons do a better job stun locking
that being said with the sheer number of NPCs, if all were using zweihänder it would be equally as good most likely
for player weapon an estoc works similarly good for poise breaking as an UGS
or in DS2 dual wielded clubs also wreck almost any staggerable enemy

PD: It will be better if adds Adult Sif & Ciaran vs Artorias.
"I am sorry, Artorias, but as a Knight of Gwyn, I cannot let such a powerful pawn of the Abyss escape. Come back to your senses and surrender now, or prepare to face us."
If Young Sif dies during the fight, Artorias comes back to his senses, drops to his knees and, after crying for a while, he asks you to kill him.

Times like these it’s good to remember
One should be thankful for the friends they have. A certain Undead was.
