I like how those close to the pontiff gradually become beasts. That is why the dogs have human skulls, and all the main bosses look like beasts besides Pontiff himself.
We don't see it because the camera is on Yhorm, but our boy Siegward was probably the one holding off the beasts on the other side, so his old friend Yhorm could mop up Sulyvahn and his infantry all by himself.
That's not even his rig lagging, but the game engine reaching its limits. You can see the wind and stuff moving at normal speeds but theres too many characters for the engine to animate at once
1:33 Yhorn: Where are you Sullyvahn?! Come out and face me yourself!!! 5:05 Yhorn: We did it Siegward, We did it! Siegward? where are you? Siegward?...
I just love that anything Yhorm's involved in, he just goes completely absolutely fucking HAM. Even when he actually takes damage and has a chance of losing it just seems like he steps up his game and comes out the other end victorious somehow.
Yhorm is by far the strongest here, but Sulyvhan's got a stronger and ruthless army. The biggest flaws for Yhorm are his weapons hitboxes (only with single enemies) and his easy reposting, which in the final round killed him so easily. But still, if we take Yhorm out from game mechanics, Is basically the strongest being in DS3 world, in pole position with Slave Knight Gael, followed by Nameless King, Soul of Cinder and maybe Darkeater Midir. (I'm italian, sorry for my cheap grammar)
In most 1v1 boss fights, Yhorm is nearly impossible to kill. Beating Yhorm requires a reliable source of stagger, which means either a lot of damage at once or sustained damage over time. Since Yhorm had abnormally high resistance against everything, most bosses can't deal enough damage to break his poise. The exception is Midir. While most bosses perform a few high damage attacks before withdrawing, Midir has a sustained fire breath and laser attack. Because Yhorm is so big, the flames are guaranteed to deal multiple ticks of damage across his hitbox, consistently staggering him and exposing his vulnerable head for even more damage. For this reason, Midir is the only boss that can consistently beat Yhorm.
@@davidhong1934 They have an interesting dynamic of having reasonably fair fights with somewhat equal odds of beating one another. I don't know of any other bosses where a duel's result could go either way.
I think you can do away with the « maybe », Midir is definitely one of the strongest beings of DS3. You could (should) add Lothric and Lorain and Demon Prince though.
Not true. The Gargoyles are from the Profaned Capital. The Handmaids tend to the Profaned Flame. These are genuine Profaned Capital inhabitants and servants, same as the Monstrosities of Sin. The creatures we find in Irythill Dungeon serve no one, and by the very namesake of IRYTHILL Dungeon, they'd be more likely to serve Sulyvahn if they did. So this remains a battle of factions. If the Pontiff were to go to war, he'd summon these creatures we'd see here. His five outrider knights, his slaves, his knights and witches, and his beasts. As for them not being in Irythill being unfair, I refer you to a quote the game itself gave us: "No matter where you go, the moon sets on Irythill. No matter where you are, Irythill is your home." This wasn't unfair. Sulyvahn has the numbers, because of course he does. He's a powerful tyrannical usurper. This is exactly what a war between these two would look like.
@Salacious Arts Not necessarily. Firstly, while you could say that the white jailers serve the pontiff, it wouldn't really work because the jailers actually come from the profaned capital, and it's stated as such. The reason the black jailers or any of the other inhabitants of the jail would not be on either side is that is because they are their own forgotten thing that the pontiff does not care about any more, and in the black jailer's case, are trying desperately to forget what happened in the profaned capital, and likely wouldn't dare follow the giant that inadvertently caused the whole mess with the capital. Even then, if Sullyvan so desired with all of irrithyll at his beck and call, He would not only tip the scales in his favor lore wise by forcing the things in the dungeon to fight for him in this battle. But even in a straight out fight with Yhorm he would be just as likely, if not more likely to win. We are talking about a battled hardened warrior with nothing but extra fire power going against a scheming sorcerer who knows how to use Darkmoon miracles translated into sorcery, the Profaned flame, and deep sorcery. Not to mention the fact that while Yhorm is a lumbering giant, Sullyvan can fly and summon a dark clone of himself, so Yhorm would have to deal with two flying adversaries who would pelt him with a variety of magic, and would likely go for underhandedly blinding him by shooting his eyes out, to give an example! Sullyvan wins in this case, no matter how you slice it. Yhorm got his victory in round one, and that alone is amazing, even more so if this were'nt a in game match and rather a lore fight.
It's like Deacons, Cathedral Knights, Slave Giants, Grubs, Rotten flesh, Kirk and other shit VS Ghrus, Ghrus, Ghrus, Ghrus, big Ghrus, Ghrus, Ghrus, Darkwraiths, Ghrus and Crabbo.

It did not help that in the second round, Vordt had gone and smashed all the Gargolyes and hands, of course.

Your grammar is just fine bro .
Well said
I think you can do away with the « maybe », Midir is definitely one of the strongest beings of DS3.
You could (should) add Lothric and Lorain and Demon Prince though.

There's something very wholesome about Siegward helping his friend Yhorm defend the Profane Capital
1:20 I see siegard next to Yhorm his friend and i have to clap in applause. such a nice touch.
Second round was unfair, they added enemies that weren't even in irithyll but didn't add irithyll dungeon enemies to profaned capital
Should've given them Jailers and a Giant.
It was a faction battle. The Outriders knights serve the Pontiff. The Jailers technically serve Irithyll and the giant served neither.
I guess round two was the DARK SOULS of fights~
As for them not being in Irythill being unfair, I refer you to a quote the game itself gave us:
"No matter where you go, the moon sets on Irythill. No matter where you are, Irythill is your home."
This wasn't unfair.
Seeing Vordt alongside Pontiff, Dancer and the Outrider Knights was so cool to see! i need more
