Yeah, insurgency is a nice mix between squad/arma 3 and cod. When you want more realism but not to the point of driving on the road for 30 minutes before entering a firefight.
Then getting hit in the head by an enemy you can’t see and having to repeat the same thing over and over again.

Another thing about the A-10 design, it also starves the engines of oxygen when it’s firing too long due to burning the oxygen before it even gets to the engine.

I’m certain in this game you’re a military contractor if you’re playing security because they have access to more then just American equipment
If I remember correctly that is the actual like lore of the game. There’s even a PMC outfit in the game.
Also a lot of the insurgency seem more like mercenaries as well considering they have a mercenary voice line
Some of them could also just be common security or local forces who were just trained in case something gets out of hand when considering the ministry map, the detainer and internal affair outfits as well as the regular voice lines

It depends, there are 3 voices/base characters you can chose at the Security side, 2 are locals that got trained by the contractors while one of then is a British soldier.
As for insurgents, you also have 2 locals trained by Russian mercenaries while one of then as an actual Russian mercenary.

funny thing... in Metal Gear Solid 4, in one of the Codec conversations with the mission support, Snake actually mentions dreams where he gets killed in familiar-looking situations... basically a slight wink towards the Game Overs and checkpoints

One detail about the .50 cal in this game that I love is that if you fire it enough times in succession you'll get the "dampened hearing" effect the same as if a grenade went off next to you. For some reason it doesn't happen on the technical's DshKM though, which I'm kinda disappointed about.
Its probably an oversight, but Im pretty sure it could get patched in, if the developers got wind of it.
I'm pretty sure it happens with the M2HB on the security technicals though, for whatever reason lol
Fellow Army vet here, that type of vivid premonition style dream is both comon and based on your mind subconsciously warning you a specific place is obviously dangerous. It can also happen with places you hate or dread. Is it a real premonition? Who knows?
14:23 I mean I ain't one to really believe specifically in that type of shit with premonitions and stuff, but I think it's really interesting that you got called to help with a checkpoint at that exact spot from the dream. Perhaps if you did take your team there your dream would've come true. Whether you remotely believe in that stuff or not, I personally believe you made a good call on that.

@@supremealgo1 yeah, especially when I was younger I would have vivid dreams in which a specific situation in a specific place would happen and then maybe two to three days later it would happen so if I was him I’d do what he did and just let the afghans do it
I remember reading a story on how someone growing up was incredibly sick, went into a hot bath and passed out in it. In their sleep, they had a dream about driving in a sandy area and then an explosion happening. They wake up later and don't think about it too much. Years later, they are a soldier in Afghanistan, when they suddenly feel a chill as the memory surges back, and he stops the convoy to check for IEDs ahead. He was correct, there was indeed one right where he dreamed it would be.

The call to prayer thing is terrifying because it's a universal fact that any chant or singing done over a very low quality speaker in low visibility weather is terrifying. You could be singing "I'm a Barbie Girl" and low quality audio plus a dense fog would make it the most harrowing experience for anyone.

Just so you know, he's using character models from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (the OG one, you can tell by the texture quality) which is why the uniforms are kinda wacky and mish-mashed.
With the whole premonition thing, while I don't believe in that stuff I still think it's best you got away from that. If you had to run that checkpoint you would have been so unbelievably stressed that it's entirely possible something bad would have happened. The stress could cause a self-fulfilling prophesy.
And to think my dreams and paralysis demons are vivid, when all I've ever done is play video games and blast tin cans. :/

A-10 was designed in the 70’s if I remember, also about the screwing up grids for CAS, motors, artillery, etc. we had a unit call for fire support, out FDC could not hear them, another TOC could do they relayed. Their TOC flipped the grids, the only thing that saved those guys was the fact their DUKE system was screwing with their coms so they had to get about 40-50 meters away from their trucks, and an excalibur is that damn accurate
