Abeloth and the Starweird species are two of the biggest things I would love to see in live action Starweirds are already canon thanks to the comics. I feel like it’s only a matter of time before Abeloth is canon as well which makes me really happy because I love scary things in Star Wars I will be down for a Star Wars horror series or movie
Abeloth always bugged the hell out of me. And later the whole family concept. The force to me was always something that wasnt defined or discreet per se. Having someone as an avatar just seems contradictory. Kinda like the borg queen. To me, the concept was more like a river, that isnt actually sentient. It just is. You can take path A, or B, or in some cases C, D, etc. Each has their buffs and pitfalls. But theyre all different ways of tapping into the same thing.
Yoda calls the Force an ally in tESB, it has long been implied to have sentience. Mortis gods are not avatars of it per se thoguh. They are separate beings Lucas created to demonstrate Balance and the Two Sides and their dynamics. So of course Legends missed this and steered into something else entirely with Abeloth's creation.
We have a decent number of those in Disney Canon already 1. The Nihili 2. The Grysk 3. The Pykes 4. Crimson Dawn 5. The Scourge (who admittedly is a Sith byproduct) 6. The Night Sisters.
I don’t think that she become canon. I also don’t think that even Lucas totally knew what the Ones are about. They were an idea to develop a Clone Wars story arc around that he would eventually tell the team about if he ever figured out how they would work into his mythos.
When I first saw that scene at the end of Ashoka, I thought that looks just like the father. Then I saw the son. In season 2 I am convinced we are seeing Abeloth.
Abeloth can be seen as a really tragic character, but I'm really worried if Disney brings her into the live action or the cartoons they'll lean too hard and make her actually the good guy instead of the monster she turned into, or try and justify her horrific actions.
I’m surprised you didn’t bring up Supernatural Encounters, in that we learn that Abeloth(originally named Belot) was the last child of the Bedlam Spirit Tiltony and sister to the Old ones Typhojem, Thargorograht, Ooradryl and Mnggal-Mnggal. Also Waru is one of the offspring of Ooradryl, which makes Abeloth, Waru’s aunt.
I think he probably didn't bring it up because Supernatural Encounters is technically quasi-canon to legends. But I agree that its a good read and any hardcore fan of the expanded universe should look into it. Its like the Silmarillion but for Star Wars
I dont see Dave adding abeloth. Maybe creating something new from the existing material, but id wager its just another being like that of the mortis family thatll appear in season 2
It doesn't cease to amaze me that something that clearly violates what Mortis was, and that could be shaven off it with Occam's Razor because it was created by other people after the fact is considered a sure addition by one of the guys who's vision of mortis she violates.
#askeck probably has been answered before by you and definitely in books but i don’t know the details. How quickly did Palpatine recruit Dooku to be his apprentice after Maul was killed? Did he have him in mind before, did he break the rule of two and have two apprentices, or did time pass and he came across him later? Thank you and always a fan of your videos!
I think/hope that Anakin plays a key role in defeating Abeloth if she really appears in season 2. They could even use that as an excuse to not have Anakin in the sequels. He is busy, "keeping Abeloth in check".
When I read Fate of the Jedi, I hadn't (and still haven't) read Legacy of the Force so I was FREAKING OUT about how Mara Jade is dead, and one of the Solo kids went dark side and another was dead, not to mention the ruins of the galaxy after the Yuuzhan Vong. I needed a lot of google searches to figure stuff out lol
You didn't miss out on anything worth your time. Legacy of the Force is, in my humble opinion, the worst Star Wars story ever written. That includes everything Disney created, and I have a fairly low opinion of Disney Star Wars. Darth Caedus was the original "Jake Skywalker," taking a beloved character and twisting him so far out of character it completely ruined him.
I came from the future to reveal the truth for you: Abeloth will appear only in the end of Ahsoka S2 which be the final season. She'll appear travelling between the galaxies and she'll arrive at the galaxy 20 years after ep. 9, because after The Father was killed, she was ejected from the galaxy to Peridhea. She will be the main antagonist of a new trilogy directed by Filoni, that's now just a hidden project
In my head cannon, when Baylon enters Abeloth’s prison, he finds a young Rey. What else could explain her incredible powers, why she’s inexplicably liked by everyone she meets, and how she influences events to eliminate all force users in the galaxy aside from herself? Palpatine’s son was sent to retrieve her for experimentation, but she was too powerful to control, and he had to abandon her on Jakku. After she buried the lightsabers of the last remaining Jedi in the sands of Tatooine, she could finally revert to her true form. When an old woman asked her name, Abeloth responds gleefully, “I’m Rey… Skywalker,” before consuming the woman and going on to wreak havoc across the galaxy.
Funnily enough, while I do not believe Abeloth will come into the Disney Canon, there may be something similar to her. Remember Peridea? Well, turns out it was mentioned before in Fallen Order. One of the people there discovered the Dark Side, mastered it and sacrificed his entire race. His name was Kujet. A mysterious entity from the Dark Side of the Force who was a traitor to his race who happened to predate the known Galaxy and had a propensity to build temples... I don't know about you, but I see some parallels. And maybe this was the reason Baylan bailed on his apprentice in _Ahsoka._ Maybe something called him to Peridea ever since the beginning. :/ But given how Disney handles its "canon", I fear everything shall be nothing but wasted potential. B/
I liked New Jedi Order and Swarm War was okay. I haven't tackled Fate of the Jedi - can't say why really - maybe because I know it is sort of the "end" of the Legacy novels. I wish we had unabridged ersions of the entire New Jedi Order series.
I think Anakin is training Ahsoka for something else, akin to the position of the Daughter. And maybe thats why her statue was eroded, because the force is still unbalanced, and Anakins role as the chosen one began when he died. The training he was suppose to receive on Mortis, he received on a longer path as Darth Vader, but about almost 30 years past and for the first time in galactic history, no one is doing what the father has done. So i imagine, without his influence, Abeloth grew in power. Was able to influence Baylan….maybe even Palpatine? Anakin and Abeloth might be playing 4D chess,
I'm convinced that *a version* of Abeloth will be introduced. I don't think she'll be The Mother though. I think Abeloth will be a lovecraftian monster that feeds on Force energy which The Ones trapped in the Maw, that it was suppressed by all the force users drawing on the force and restricting its ability to feed, and that order 66 caused it to start awakening and trying to escape the Maw due to the massive reduction of force users - Similar to how the Rule Of Two increased the power of Sith by concentrating the dark side into 2 individuals, I think the loss of the Jedi resulted in the monster being able to draw on more of the force.
Abeloth was the "self proclaimed " mother. She was actually a servant. Her return is proof that Anakin Skywalker did not bring balance to the force. Killing the Ones lead to the return of Abeloth and pushed the Force further into darkness. Another reason why jedi fell to the darkside so often and the Sith continued to rise. That is where the Throne of Balance and the jedi Queen(Alana Solo) enter. Anakin was suppose to take the throne of balance and balance the force. The throne is empty and the Bringer of Chaos was freed.
really REALLY hope this ends up with people assuming its abeloth and then when they dont do it they'll be disappointed like come on guys asking to be dissapointed
It's funny, I think any indication of Abeloth *ACTUALLY* appearing in Canon at this point are just silly rumours, but I also am not averse to the *idea* of it at all. I guess we just have to see!
Considering that the figure of the daughter is destroyed... I see that as a bad sign, and that there is indeed something terrible. I hope we get to find out.
She's a Greek god. She personifies some trait of mankind, or Galaxy kind in this case, and represents our war-like and chaotic nature. At least, that's kind of how I interpret your description.
Abeloth should NOT be shown in any work of art, in movies or shows. She comes across like a force, not a being. Something of a malevolent spirit, forever haunting the Star Wars universe. A once genuine character, turned unbreakable evil. To give her form, is to limit her abilities. As I see it. Keeping her in the background, invisible but always there. The eternal threat of her becoming a physical embodiment. Worse than Darth Nihilus. More cunning than Darth Sidious. Never spoken of. Merely because of the association and fear that…if you even mention her to someone who doesn’t know she exists. She gains power…whether that’s accurate or not, is too troublesome to risk. We need more characters like Abeloth. Unspoken evils that leaves anyone who knows about her…about it. Terrified of what may happen, and those who don’t know about it…forever woefully ignorant…but better off. Like how in WH40K. You have the forces of Chaos, who grow stronger with every soul that knows about their existence. Spirit made physical, with every mention of them. The theory made flesh, which will tear you apart if you so much as visually acknowledge their potentiality.
They haven't even established thrawn as a proper main villain and they're already replacing him with this? Honestly I'm not surprised at anything at this point.
I hope Disney does not use Abeloth that would just ruin her and the Disney Shills would try and defend the garbage that Disney shoves out. Not to mention the hypocrisy of said shills, they pretend the original canon/EU does not exist but when Disney takes a character out of legends, dumbs it down and destroys said character, the shills then act like it’s a gift sent from the heavens. Us regular fans then simply have to ‘be okay with it’ no matter how bad the show/movie is
Abeloth could either be nerfed to make her more manageable. Or they don't beat Abeloth through combat at all and instead find another way to beat her, like trapping her or talking her down. Or who knows, maybe Ahsoka and Sabine will find another god killing sword like the one on Mortis.
@anthonyrodriguez8788 well I didn't know which tike it would be set in. If Rey isn't born yet then Luke is still alive. They could write him to come out of being a hermit like they did Obi-wan. Personally I don't care what they do. Disney start wars isn't for me.
I really liked 2/3rds of the Fate of the Jedi novels. unfortunately, one of the authors seemed to have their own ideas on what the plot should be, and was doing their own thing, which left a lot of.... not really resolved threads

@@mpnuorva I dont really think of abeloth as a force avatar, but more so of an anomaly.
I love the idea of Abeloth returning. I don't think her lore will be exactly the same, but it'll be nice to see a non-sith, non-empire villain.
We have a decent number of those in Disney Canon already
1. The Nihili
2. The Grysk
3. The Pykes
4. Crimson Dawn
5. The Scourge (who admittedly is a Sith byproduct)
6. The Night Sisters.
Oh, you got the art made. Good to know.
I don’t think that she become canon. I also don’t think that even Lucas totally knew what the Ones are about. They were an idea to develop a Clone Wars story arc around that he would eventually tell the team about if he ever figured out how they would work into his mythos.
of course my goat is responsible for the best artwork
Its like the Silmarillion but for Star Wars
thank you
What?
@@shanghai_man it's not quasi-canon, it's straight up fanfiction. If you like it, that's fine, but don't pretend this novel in any way official.
@@Arauto_Kagnos It is quasi-canon to the Legends timeline. Do some research.
I still feel cheated about not getting the Sword of the Jedi series to "complete" the Legends saga.
You can go a bit further. Quimir's helmet is a conduit to connect with Aboloth.
I came from the future to reveal the truth for you:
Abeloth will appear only in the end of Ahsoka S2 which be the final season.
She'll appear travelling between the galaxies and she'll arrive at the galaxy 20 years after ep. 9, because after The Father was killed, she was ejected from the galaxy to Peridhea.
She will be the main antagonist of a new trilogy directed by Filoni, that's now just a hidden project
Right... Filoni sticking to other people's stories that directly contradicts his. Real credible.
I really want Abeloth to reappear. Like slay girlllll ♡♡♡♡
…
Wha?
6:34 wtf is the editors note picture
Now that Anakin is basically THE Mortis god he should be able to single handedly deal with Abeloth.
“Incredible powers”
The only impressive thing she did was lift up a bunch of rocks while meditating
But given how Disney handles its "canon", I fear everything shall be nothing but wasted potential. B/
I liked New Jedi Order and Swarm War was okay. I haven't tackled Fate of the Jedi - can't say why really - maybe because I know it is sort of the "end" of the Legacy novels. I wish we had unabridged ersions of the entire New Jedi Order series.
As someone who has read them, just call the end of the NJO the end of Legends Star Wars. Everything that came after just ruined that perfect ending.
Are the whills of the Force (from the last few episodes of season 6 of tcw) linked in any way to abeloth?
Frankly, I want a movie where Jar Jar shows up, but then gets revealed to be Abeloth
would
I need abeloth to become some kind of star wars horror
Lovecraftian Horror, My beloved.
Can we please keep Disney away from these characters
Abeloth was the "self proclaimed " mother. She was actually a servant. Her return is proof that Anakin Skywalker did not bring balance to the force. Killing the Ones lead to the return of Abeloth and pushed the Force further into darkness. Another reason why jedi fell to the darkside so often and the Sith continued to rise. That is where the Throne of Balance and the jedi Queen(Alana Solo) enter. Anakin was suppose to take the throne of balance and balance the force. The throne is empty and the Bringer of Chaos was freed.
really
REALLY hope this ends up with people assuming its abeloth and then when they dont do it they'll be disappointed like come on guys asking to be dissapointed
Abeloth is best used like a Cthulhu style plot character
Need a abeloth horror movie
She's a Greek god. She personifies some trait of mankind, or Galaxy kind in this case, and represents our war-like and chaotic nature. At least, that's kind of how I interpret your description.
I doubt it will be Abeloth that appears, but will be something like her.
They're recasting Baylan and casting an Abeloth so it's happening whether we like it or not
Abeloth vs Anakin Skywalker (sith Anakin)
i always liked abeloth as a villain but i'd prefer she get an updated look
I would have thought she volunteered to be in the mas
To keep everyone else safe because the celestials had to leave
Wait is my profile pic the picture of her your talking about because i have no idea who made it
Does anyone here really believe Filoni of all writers is gonna be able to write Abeloth with any competence?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
To be fair, she wasn't competently written the first time.
@@charliesand573 which shows you how little faith I have in the current Star Wars writing team 🤣
@@MRDLT00 LOL fair enough. And even if she was written well, the Disney timeline is so mid, who would even care?
She’s already a DeviantArt OC-level character, so if anything she’d fit right in
Abeloth is gonna alter Baylon Skoll of his appearance with her phenomenal Force powers.
In my opinion, having abeloth as the main villain of the sequel trilogy would have been much better than the return of palpatine
Insane theory but what if Natalie Portman comes back as abeloth aka the mother since ankain is the father it would only make sense
Abeloth will be the goddess of the Yuuzhan vong
They haven't even established thrawn as a proper main villain and they're already replacing him with this? Honestly I'm not surprised at anything at this point.
I wonder what would happen if you drink from the pool of knowledge and bathed in the fount of power 🤔
I feel like they are going to do what the public have done to Jack the Ripper. Make a horrible person viewed as a bit of a hero
considering they have been looking for someone to play her...shes gonna be canon in s2.
Us regular fans then simply have to ‘be okay with it’ no matter how bad the show/movie is
Little known fact, there was also an adult holo net star named Abeloth Dengar. It's totally canon, Google it.
And who exactly would be powerful enough to fight Abeloth? There's no Luke, no Jaina, no Ben Skywalker, no real New Jedi Academy, ....
Abeloth could either be nerfed to make her more manageable.
Or they don't beat Abeloth through combat at all and instead find another way to beat her, like trapping her or talking her down.
Or who knows, maybe Ahsoka and Sabine will find another god killing sword like the one on Mortis.
Rey...lmao
@@HegoDamaskll yeah but Rey may not even be born yet, and if she is by this point she's still a toddler at best
@anthonyrodriguez8788 well I didn't know which tike it would be set in. If Rey isn't born yet then Luke is still alive. They could write him to come out of being a hermit like they did Obi-wan. Personally I don't care what they do. Disney start wars isn't for me.
@@HegoDamaskll this is before the First Order came out of hiding meaning Luke isn't a Hermit, he's still building up his Jedi Order.
Welp. You’ve gone and done it. It’s time for another 41 book marathon on Audible. New Jedi Order through Fate plus Crucible.
She just wanted to protect and love her family but here we go...
Have any else write her character, she’ll be the shell of the women she once was, but get Dave faloni on it, it’ll be straight from the source
I really liked 2/3rds of the Fate of the Jedi novels. unfortunately, one of the authors seemed to have their own ideas on what the plot should be, and was doing their own thing, which left a lot of.... not really resolved threads
Oh wow I'm early
In my Headcanon, Rey is the reincarnation of Abeloth who came from the Legends universe to the Canon to ensure that everything went wrong for Luke and then reincarnated as Rey
This
@@tillerzeitthat could be crazy or she’s the reincarnation of the daughter but born from a palpatine to balance the family bc palpatine was sooooo dark
Abeloth would be so good if Disney wasn't making star wars
👍
I want her to be canon but at the same time I don’t out of fear of her character being butchered and watered down. If she is to be canon she has to be as she is in legneds, a monumental threat that embodies the potential apocalypse of the Star Wars galaxy/universe. Thanos/Darkseid level threat but 10xs or something. Lol just my opinion
